Wanted to try a local Irish pub and restaurant. Service was a little slow being seated as the hostess/waitress seemed to be extremely busy. Took a while to take our order, for the same reason. I ordered fish and chips and my wife ordered a BLT. We both ordered Guiness. My fish and chips was fair. The serving size was good. The breading on the fish was a little bland. The chips (French fries) were fresh cut and cooked right. My wife's BLT was very good. The amount of bacon was liberal, not too much or too little. There was no mayo on the sandwich, but she didn't request it nor was asked. The bread was properly toasted. The bartender was a little loud but very friendly and pleasant, so was not an issue.

Great food! Most often I come here for the burgers, but every item I've ordered off the menu is great. Burgers, corned beef and cabbage, Shepard's pie, Irish eggs Benedict (brunch menu) just to name a few!

Madra Rua was nice and quiet. Our server was excellent and quick to recommend things to us. The house kettle chips with ranch dressing work excellent those in themselves were a meal. I highly enjoyed the different Irish whiskeys. Can't wait to go back with a larger group of friends.

Hands down the best Irish pub in Charleston. Everything from the service to the food to the drinks was EXCELLENT. The wait staff was very knowledgeable of the menu and the bartender was excellent. Highly recommended and will be visiting again

A greta lunch spot and has that traditional Irish feel indoors and great Irish menu options! Outdoor patio is fantastic as well. Rally enjoyed the misters on a hot day. Ordered the chicken sandwich, reuben and chicken tenders. Everything came out super fast and was delicious!

We just had a couple of beers here nd no food, so not rating the food, the server at the bar is super friendly and his suggestions on the beer were perfect and good ! We were already a little tipsy and ended up drinking 3 beers each just because of the service...loads of history , the place got burnt down and rebuilt again ! Definite visit for a beer if you're ever in Charleston!

Good spot, the fish and chips were decent! Fish was a little on the small side but was very tasty. Beers and cocktails were good, we sat at the outside bar and our bartender was awesome! I didn’t catch her name but we will be back to give it a second try!

I love this place. The food is fantastic, the beer is cold, and the interior looks like a real Irish pub with little nooks and booths that you can sit in away from the hustle and bustle which makes it perfect for business meetings.

Always loved madra rua when I lived in Charleston. Recently went back and visited the pub for the first time since the rebuild. Loving the outdoor bar area. The handbreaded Buffalo tenders are top notch pub fare. The service is always on point. I'll continue to go back every time I'm in town!

Fantastic Irish Pub with delicious traditional Irish fare. Showing Celtic football club matches on weekend mornings. Plenty of seating indoor and outdoor. English Premier League on tv as well. Only improvement I’d make it more TV’s to show all the matches!

Great atmosphere and delicious brunch. I can't find anywhere else like this place. You can't go wrong with anything you order, but the two egg breakfast was my favorite til I ordered this breakfast bowl. Topped off with a manmosa for $5, it's the best brunch place I've ever been. Never fails to leave me feeling good!

I’ve been to this restaurant many times but not since 2020. It’s still a great place to eat and our service was awesome! Thanks for taking care of us today Allison! Great food, great service even 3 years later! Definitely go!
