11/22/23— went here with some friends . It was an ordeal to just get in the parking lot . This places was buzzing with people coming in and out with cakes . It was a revolving door .
We sat at the bar section . They have a few booths there and it was quieter than the other section . Which we liked cause we needed to have an important conversation.
The Bartender took care of us . He did what he could while having people at the bar .
The amount of cakes that people had ordered was Incredible . Don’t part at the ten minute parking spot . One lady got a ticket for overstaying . We came here for lunch time
I ordered the traditional thanksgiving dinner . It was okay . I wouldn’t order it again .
The fish and chips must of have been good cause the other two people in my table ate it all . Anyhow . Happy Thanksgiving 🙏🙏🙏
First time I've ever had the French onion soup. It costs $3 more for the bread and cheese but my goodness it was an incredible first experience! I was even told that there are better ones out there but it was so good that the apple crisp didn't stand a chance! Guys, get the soup and tell me where else I can get some because it was basically a vibe sitting in their outdoor section eating soup and pie and drinking beer.
Nice to eat in open air part. We enjoyed our food but did not like the continuous country music as opposed to a mix of music. It's great to pick 2 sides to dinner.
Stopped in for dessert tonight. Delicious apple strudel. I always enjoy meals and/or desserts there. My family has enjoyed eating at Gregg’s for over 50 years!
Food was excellent, server was knowledgeable and adequately attentive, speed of service was good, menu selection was plentiful, decor and seating was comfortable - love the oversized booths. Dessert looked delectable but I was so full I was unable to order any. I need to come back and have the eclair. It looked divine. Only complaint was sticky wood tables. They were not dirty sticky. They were that kind of sticky that comes from cleaning wood with wet clothes and liquid cleansers for many years and the wood surface starts to break down. Could easily solve that with some tablecloths or glass over the wood. This restaurant is an excellent choice if you are in the area!
We got there as soon as it opened up so it was pretty empty. The staff here are incredible extremely nice and very accommodating. Even the manager came by the table and asked how we were doing and how the food was. I haven't been here many times maybe twice. The food was awesome and the prices are fair.
See Photo? What more can I say? BIG yummy eclairs. Huge bakery dept eat in,order to go, or plan for banquets.
Food: lunch meatloaf Tues special not so good today. All else great as usual. Even liver ! beets, sweet potato salad burgers etc!
I went for lunch midweek, The Host the waitress were so welcoming. It was a quiet dining room because many people were eating in their outdoor dining area. The baked scrod was very good, the fish and chips on the other hand were mediocre and smaller than I expected. The waitress talked me into upgrading to the dinner portion. I wasn't disappointed per say but my expectations were lowered. Great pickles and rolls (don't lose that signature )!
I went to Gregg's for a meeting in a private room. Everyone had dinner with various meals being served from burgers and sandwiches to more traditional dinners. Everyone's food came out at the same time and everyone enjoyed their meals. Proportions were good and prices fair. However it's the dessert menu that can't be beat at this location.
Enjoyed the corned beef and cabbage. Very good burger. Crazy oversized cheesy fries appetizer. Tried to get a nut free desert but there were concerns over nut cross contamination. Big shame as the deserts look amazing. Great value for the food we had. Had a new server who did great and brought all food quickly and 100% accurate.
A lot better than your average diner! The cake was great ....but as the sign says ...
Staffing vaccancies persist, and (I believe) the waitress had too many tables and yet took time to be very kind to us.
The portions are generous, and the flavors were good.
The chocolate cake was .... very chocolate ... and could only eat half ... save room!
This, place has been around for YEARS!,Nice, varied menu.
Good specials.
O K prices but EVERYTHING is up!!
Manhattan Clam Chowder is DELISH!,LOVED the tuna, salad.
Fish and chips special was great too! Thanks for having MALT VINEGAR!
Don't forget the PICKLES!
Ordered the liver and onions. The server asked me how would I like that cooked?
First time for that. I told her regular..
When I got the food, first cut, it was not cooked all of the way...raw in middle..I didn't know that was possible.
They took it away, and recooked/replaced? it. Bonus, they gave me an extra serving of squash .
Pretty good restaurant. I was here on a Saturday evening and fortunately got here before 5. It wasn't very crowded and we got seated right away. But once we were leaving, it was packed! Definitely a popular chain. I had a bowl of tomato soup and a chicken pot pie, along with blueberry cheesecake for dessert. The food was good, but Gregg's is well known for their desserts. I'd come back again.
Gregg's (in North Kingstown) always delivers amazing food and service. Everything--the pickles, rolls, sandwiches, and desserts--are incredible. I have been thankful to have so many wonderful experiences there over the years; I can't recommend it enough!
Sat outside in covered area that had its own bar and live music! Great atmosphere!! Complimentary rolls and their own made pickles! Can you say yum! I ordered the California wrap. It had chicken, bacon, quacomole, tomatoes and lettuce. It was phenomenal! I can't wait to go back!!!
The food is always wonderful. Beyond wonderful. Service is great. Chocolate layer cake is to die for and the pumpkin cheesecake is the best we've ever had.
This place is great. Love going here. Food is always on point, and staff is very friendly and knowledgeable on menu items . Highly recommend
