Fantastic place with extensive menu and great service. The upside of the large menu is it can satisfy any craving you have for comfort food. The downside, no matter how good of a crew you have, it is tough to perfect any dishes. The staff is always very friendly and attentive. The history of the place dates back to 1760…don’t be surprised if you have spirit enjoying spirits with you 😀

Good experience overall. Nice ambiance, not crowded, we got a table by a window easily. It looks like it should be really nice there during the winter as they have a huge fireplace. Quick and attentive service. Tried 2 IPAs on tap and both were great. Grilled swordfish was pretty good, although a bit too well done to my taste. Asparagus was cooked perfectly, mostly - some pieces were too tough, they should've removed the woody ends. Lobster roll was quite disappointing though. It was just bland. Plenty of meat. But still. The taste and texture was lacking. Looks like they skipped all other ingredients also... Highly recommend their sweet potato fries - one of the best we've tried so far.

Delicious food in an epically cool antique building built before America existed. Absolutely worth it and there is something for everyone on the menu. I have so many leftovers too, so I'm excited about having them later. The food is flavorful, get the pickle chips!!!! Oh man, I'll have dreams of them!

I had fish and chips. The piece was pretty big. I've had better but the menu is very diverse. The chicken wings were very good. The booze prices were also reasonable. The calamari was delicious. And the waitress was fantastic with our large party of 14 including 5 kids under 8.

Wonderful food, outstanding service. My spouse, and I came through the door at a little past five. We were immediately seated and orders taken in less than five minutes. She had the.meat loaf special and I had the pork chop. More than enough for two meals.

food was very good. their menu is gigantic so i was concerned. we ate very nice spicy but not too spicy calamari, rare tuna salad, baby fried scallops, and a pizza. all we very good. there was too much sauce on one tuna dish with noodles. overall very fine they had our favorite " go to" chardonnay. they also have trivia on thursday night and we'll go back and give it a go . prices were very fair

Excellent place, MANY gluten free options. My kids were very excited to try other non-hamburger dishes. They had the 1/2 Chicken with fries and house salad, I had grilled salmon, and my husband had chicken Broccoli pasta. Everything was delicious.

Let me start out by saying that I am an incredibly picky customer…. I love my own cooking so when I go out I often struggle to find meals I like more then eating at home. This was not the case tonight at Carriage Inn. Their menu had a mix of local favorites (3 types of calamari! Seafood dishes that looked and smelled great), comfort foods (prime rib shepards pie? What?!?!) traditional items like prime rib, steak tips, mashed potatoes and some different offerings (CHICKEN Wellington and a mushroom/asparagus/onion risotto that was out of this world) We were there at the end of the night after a seemingly very busy evening yet our waitress was lovely, very nice and had orders out quickly without us ever feeling rushed and great recommendations for menu items. The atmosphere was wonderful, we sat in the 1760 whiskey room, so tastefully done, great vibes and my history nerd self was geeking out that we were eating in the same room, in front of the same fireplace (maybe lol) as George Washington. This was our first visit but will not be the last!!!!

Th fish on the Reubens was big and tasted great. The 2 burgers were awesome and the steak was the best my wife has had in a while. Good food. Great atmosphere. Service at the bar wasn't great. Bartender didn't acknowledge me for 15 minutes. Place was packed and there was only one bartender. I know it wasn't her fault

5 stars +!!!💖😊👍 If you're looking for a GREAT meal this is THE place to go. Food is seriously FAB here. Plenty of glutenfree options!!(rare for RI fare) Good wine list also. Prices are about the usual for local. Friendly and attentive waitstaff. My new FAV restaurant!!!💖 This place has a VERY long history and is actually supposed to be "haunted".(Check it out on YouTube) New England ambience at its finest. Don't forget to check out the carriages!!!

I visited recently with a large party for fathers day dinner. Our waitress was amazing and kept things flowing so seamlessly. Our food came out quickly & was very fresh and delicious. We enjoyed the time we had there and were able to have a full dinner without much disruption since they put our party in a separate part of the restaurant. Will definitely return! Thank you!

The ambiance of this place is very comfy, cozy and romantic. The hostess and waitress we're very welcoming and very attentive before, during and after my meal. What would make this establishment the best at BBQ would be to grill or smoke all the meats! Nothing like that char-grilled flavor on chicken, steak or burger hitting the pallet! Fried pickles were delicious! Sweet potato fries were excellent! The butternut squash needed some cinnamon, nutmeg or maybe sage flavor bc it was plain. I will go back to try other mouthwatering apps & entrees! Desserts looked good too 😋
