Came in on a Wednesday night. (11-23) I was seated right away. The service was pretty good. I had to wait 20 to 30 minutes, and then I finally asked my waitress for a pen to sign my tab. When she gave me the bill, she said she would be right back because she forgot to give me a pen. She totally forgot to come back. From the time I sat down, I noticed a lady going table to table speaking with customers. I'm guessing she was the owner or manager. Not once did she come to my table. She even sat and talked with the table across from me pretty much the whole time I was eating my delicious meal. The shrimp and grits I got were some of the best I've had in a long time. The sweet tea was also really good. It was so good and refreshing. I had four glasses of it. I would have given 5 stars but because I waited like 30 minutes after finishing up my meal to get a pen and the owner or manager not checking up on me like she did with every other table in the establishment that's why only 4 stars. It's still worth a try, and I would go back.

Food here is very good, service was slow, perhaps the staff was stretched a bit thin that night. I had the fried chicken, my wife had the pot pie and for dessert we shared coconut custard pie which was fantastic. This place also has great soups and you can get them to go which we do during the winter months to heat up at home throughout the week. Truly a hidden gem hiding behind chain restaurants beside the Food Lion.

First of all, we've passed by this place so many times it doesn't make sense. Every time we go to North Myrtle Beach, we stop by the Food Lion and get things for the condo. This time we decided to stop by Barefoot Bistro and let me tell you!... I am so glad that we did! The night we decided to stop by, there was a one man band there that was pretty good and he sang some of the best oldies and classics. 🎙️🕺 When we got there after a short wait we were greeted by a hostess who was so sweet and so nice. Our waitress, Darlene was super awesome and very helpful in helping us find some good dishes and drinks to choose for the night. I ended up choosing the shrimp and grits and let me tell you these were the best shrimp and grits I've tasted in a while! They weren't like the typical fancy shmancy shrimp and grits... These were like the ones your grandma might make! They had a thick gravy and the grits and shrimp were cooked to perfection with sauteed bell peppers and onions 🤤. Oh and there were crunchy pork belly chunks in it too! 🥹 We also got the sonic boom shrimp and good lawd these bad boys were soooo delicious. They were drenched in their "special sauce" and man was it special! I also had a Bahama mama drink that tasted just like a North Myrtle Beach sunrise on a cool morning. 😄 All in all, if you've never been you have to go and check this place out. We slept on it for so long, but I'm so glad we finally got to give it a spin. If you want some good down south home cooking, this is exactly the place to be with a great atmosphere and great folks who really love their jobs. Thank you guys so much for making our evening special!

Food is always hot, delicious and lots of variety for everyone. Jan is our favorite server, we love her. The onion rings are the best I’ve ever had. Only thing we wish was the restaurant is always chilly, so bring your sweaters

Definitely a gem off of the beaten path. Everything we ordered was amazing and tasted as if it was homemade, well actually better! Our server was a sweetheart and was very polite and attentive. Kids options were better than expected as well.

We almost left because it looked like they were closed. But, we're glad we didn't. The Hostess was very welcoming. The food was quick and delicious! We even had extras to take home for lunch the next day! It was the most affordable of all the restaurants we went to this week.

Excellent service and even better food! This is our 2nd trip. The first time I had to try the chicken and waffles which were great. The chicken pot pie had great reviews from the rest of the family so we had 4 of those this time a 1 bottomless soup. Wonderful!!! The pumpkin muffins are delicious as well! We'll be back!

I just happened to spot this restaurant when I came out of the nearby Food Lion. I stopped in and got a menu to check out the items. We decided to give it a try. What a Great Family styled restaurant with Daily Specials and an unique menu with a variety of items. We had a party of 5 that went late afternoon to try the daily special for $9.99 which is valid until 5 p.m. On Tuesday the special is Fried Chicken with Mashed Potatoes & Gravy, Lima Beans, Fried Squash, Corn Bread, and a Cookie or Bread Pudding. I had the Fried Chicken and is was cooked to perfection. The side portions were huge and delicious as well. They are very flexible with substituting the sides if there is something else you prefer. I swapped the fried squash for mac and cheese. My wife had the chicken salad in a Jalapeno Cheddar wrap. a large portion with a side. She was highly complimentary of this item and very pleased with her choice. All members loved their food and were raving about the place and when they were coming back to try other items. Our server, Penny, was excellent. She was very friendly, personable, and efficient. She was very knowledgeable of the menu items and gave recommendations to our crew when requested. She recommended that we take a look at the Dessert/Bakery case which had a number of pies, cheese cakes, and cookies. My wife got a Pina Colada Cheese Cake to go. We will definitely be back to try the other daily specials as well as the other menu items. I Highly Recommend. UPDATE: 8/12/2021 - I have now tried every daily special on the menu (Meatloaf, Fried Chicken, Pork Chop, Turkey & Dressing, & Fried Fish). All were delicious. My favorite of the 5 items is the Fried Chicken. A new visit on 10/18/21. My wife had the Chicken Pot Pie. Huge portion with a lot of chicken with fresh baked pastry. I tried a few bites and it was delicious. I had the the Meatloaf special and it was great too.

Real nice place with sweet ladies working. Felt like home. They even thought I was a local. I got the coconut shrimp with there house made marbale which was spot on. I also got some potatoe balls which are 4 big soft fired mash potatoes stuffed with cheese. A little overwhelming at first but I was able to eat a whole one. I also got some of there fresh baked deserts. 10/10! To top it all off I got some extra pumpkin bread muffins for free I guess or they just come with each order. More for breakfast time but really good.!!! The menu does need some tweaks though and signage in the restaurant would be nice. I recommend to others and will definitely be back!

This is definitely a hidden gem that we stumbled upon. The food is made from scratch and is full of flavor. The service is one of a kind and the people are so friendly. We’ve ate here twice in our 11 day vacation and probably will again before we leave!
