We've been to the restaurant a couple of times and we can say the experience keeps getting better. As I entered the restaurant the decor made me feel like I'm in India! Their menu is very different, chef has done an amazing job with all the items on the menu. Each item has been crafted with so much passion and love, you can feel that in each and every bite. Also contrary to popular perception this place is not expensive. Their service staff is very friendly, always going out of their way to please the customer. The Owners are always there to make sure guests have a good time & especially come to our table to ask our preferences which is the best part. You can personalize your meal by choosing your spice level and every item on the menu has a very detailed description so you are able to make a good choice for yourself. The chef/owner accommodates gluten free and dairy free diets. Sometimes when I order ethnic cuisines, I have to stick to the ones I know, but not at India House. Everything consistently tastes delicious. I love every single item on the menu. Made me feel like I had returned to India. I would recommend this restaurant to anyone who loves good food & would definitely go again !!!

Ok, so Cindy & I love Indian food so we are a bit biased but here it goes. The owners Alka & Omi (hope I'm not butchering the spelling of their names) are so attentive & friendly that it's worth going there just to meet them & their wonderful family & staff. The food is beyond good it is outstanding. The side of Brussel sprouts & sweet potatoes with cracked coriander and pomegranates was worth going just for this! Amazing! The Aloo Gobhi Palak fresh cauliflower, spinach and potatoes with onions, ginger and tomatoes also a winner. Great flavors & texture. The Chatpate Chole (Alka's mother's recipe! Chickpeas cooked with rock salt, blackened cumin, ginger and bay leaves with tamarind and cilantro was delish! Lastly, the Tandoori Chicken bone in pieces was the best I've ever had! This place is a gem! Can't wait to go back in a few weeks next time we're in Northampton! Thank you Alka & Omi! Mitch & Cindy

I love this place, with my different food sensitivities, it is easy to eat here. They're knowledgeable about vegan and gluten free, and If your waiter is not they will send over someone who is. The food is delicious and the staff are very friendly. Love this local Indian resturant!

Amazing. Every time we go through Massachusetts we try to take a detour to this restaurant. The food is so fabulous. We could just eat the flavorful Indian – style onion rings all day long. As an added bonus, I have celiac. I can eat here without worrying!

One of my favorite restaurants anywhere! A pleasure in the beautifully decorated dining rooms, or outside in the garden. A full page of Vegetarian & Vegan options that you cannot go wrong with, try something new each time. (still daydreaming of the Sweet Potato, Brussel Sprouts & Pomegranate appetizer I had last night!) My only request would be for a vegan dessert! I'm sure their talented chefs could create something amazing.

Service & atmosphere were great! Food was super tasty, they seem to have several differnt menu options from other Indian restaurants we've been to. The naan sampler basket was sooo good! Very pleased with our dinner there!

I am blown away at how good our experience at India House was. We decided last minute to get dinner while we were out and after a quick search we saw that India House had a lot of Gluten Free options on their menu. We drove over and found parking on the street in front of the restaurant, we were seated right away and then it took me a while to pick something on the menu because there were so many options that sounded delicious. I really loved the popcorn chicken appetizer that had a crispy chickpea batter. We got a vegetable korma and I opted for Mild spice to try it out, but we could have definitely ordered it spicier. It was too mild for our tastes but the flavor was good. I also really enjoyed the basmati rice. I will definitely be going back to India House and will order a medium spice level next time. I could probably do hot level but I’ll try medium just in case.

Highly recommend this authentic 🇮🇳 Indian restaurant in Northampton. We were warmly greeted by kind staff immediately upon entering the authentically decorated India House! The atmosphere was very inviting and cozy. We were asked by staff how our meal was to ensure it was nothing shy of delicious. Staff genuinely care about their guests here, and it's apparent. The food was very tasty! We will definitely give our business here again. *please note: if disabled, there are stairs both into the establishment as well as internally to the restrooms on the second floor.

First time in this establishment and I was very satisfied. We visited here for dinner , I'll say I was overly pleased with food , our server and the whole place in general. Our server was excellent and took care of everything we needed. Food was on table in very reasonable time . Drinks were 10/10. We will be back at this restaurant asap. The family here was amazing and shows what running a family business is all about. They care and it shows. Coming from culinary I can be a stickler about stuff . I have nothing bad to say about anything here. Visited 10/13/23 !

The food was absolutely amazing as always. Staff are super friendly and courteous. I didn't get that many pictures because we demolished the food so quick. We got the bread basket and Cauliflower Lollipops for our appetizers that vanished almost as soon as they set it down on our table. We had a party of 8. They were able to cater to all of our levels of tolerance for spiciness. Can't wait to go back again!

India house was a pleasant dining experience and if you like Indian food, you should try it out. The menu was well developed, the staff attentive, and the owner probably charming. I was passing through so he didn't stop at my table, but all the tables around me were seated with regulars. He knew them and greeted them. How wonderful is that? Like so many Indian restaurants ice been to, the exterior us shabby but they interior is intricately decorated. It was very fine! It's true that India house is not handicap friendly. The seating makes the most of a small space and the bathrooms are upstairs. Leave the wheelchair at home. But there is not much room for they owner to conquer this problem given the limitations of the space. India House is definitely worth your time!

Atmosphere deserves more than five stars This place is amazing. The decor inside is stunning and the food is fantastic. I took my grandma to get Indian food for the first time in her life and she was very hesitant because she's scared of spice and I told her to trust me they have no spicy options. My grandma loved it. I've been going here for years now and I've never had a bad meal. The cinnamon sugar naan bread is one of my favorites! Sometimes I'll stop by just to get some.

Delicious food and the service was top notch. The family atmosphere was amazing and very much appreciated. Our party of 5 had allergies, celiac, and nuts, and they took care to make our dining experience safe and healthy. We had the following dishes: mango chicken, tamarind shrimp, chana saag, aloo gobhi palak, butter Masada chicken. All were delicious and enjoyed. Specialty Bread Basket was a big hit, and they had gluten-free options. 100% - we will go back and will recommend. We sat inside, there is outdoor seating as well.

We went there for dinner on a Tuesday. Excellent Indian Food. We ordered cauliflower lollipop, pappadams, vegetarian samosa for starters. Cauliflower Lollipop is something you may not get it in other Indian places. Highly recommended. Then we had baingan aloo dish, shrimp dish, vegetable Biriyani and a few other stuff. Everything was great. The owner is great but the person who took our order was just ok. She didn't even know that raitha comes with biriyani. Better to oder with the owner. Parking is ok and a few spots available in the front. They have outdoor seating too.

First time here, outstanding !! A very warm welcome when entering, we ate the bar. Josh our bartender was phenomenal!! His drinks wear great, his service was awesome. Elka the owner was very pleasant and informative and made us feel like home in her house. Would highly recommend eating here. Every dish made from scratch, it was great to spread out the time between the appetizers and main course. The Tangrin Shrimp was excellent, the Lamb was also awesome. We are going back

Good place. The food is tasty and the place is nice. A bit too pricey for me. The portion sizes are on the smaller size for the price you pay.

The meal and staff, including the owners, were excellent as always. I can't really say enough good things about our experience except that we always look forward to dining here. If you like your meal spicy, without ruining your taste buds, then get your meal hot and spicy! They have mild and medium options as well. They also have quite the selections for menu items and some really nice specials. The chef does a wonderful job preparing the food; we have yet found anything we didn't like. My wife had a chicken and shrimp dish in a tomato based sauce, she absolutely loved over rice with a medium sauce and I had a scallop and shrimp dish prepared with coconut milk, cashews and raisins in a hot curry sauce; phenomenal! The only negative I have is that the portions are a little small for the price, lacking a little in the seafood end, but otherwise very good meals. Please try the Naan bread with their dipping sauces and chutneys. Especially the one that is prepared with cinnamon and cardamom 👍 My overall rating is actually a 4.5, well worth the visit
