Really great experience here. Everyone was beyond friendly with bygone charm. The owner saw me outside with my dogs and offered water and ice cream as it was super hot out. Really appreciated the unsolicited generosity. Besides that, the peach and raspberry homemade ice cream were phenomenal and super creamy. I got a pound of chocolate too that I am pacing myself with but can’t wait. A+++ experience.

This is a hidden gem in Long Island ! A lot of the old folks know this but not the younger people. Love their homemade ice creams and definitely a class apart from the rest. The recipe is a classic and has been preserved since ages. A must visit if you’re craving for icecream in the area.

I've loved this place since I was a kid. My father and grandfather both came here. The best homemade ice cream chocolate and candy anywhere. Great luncheonette too.

A great old-school throwback ice cream shop! Definitely not enough of these places around. Im glad I stopped by for classic Vanilla Milkshake Malted. Like the legend john T once said from Pulp.... idk if it worth 11$ but its pretty f%$#*^g good!!!

Stopped in with my mom for icecream and it was delish! It was nice to sit at the counter instead of taking it to go for a change. Love the retro vibe!

This is a family-owned fixture in Northport that has that vintage charm that can't be replicated. Excellent ice cream, candies and soda fountain drinks, as well as comforting favorite lunch options. Please keep coming to this local gem!

I can't get enough of their delicious home made chocolate. I treat myself regularly. The Giant Smores are my absolute favorite.

This place in its heyday must’ve been an amazing place to be. Still, I had rum raisin ice cream and it was real good. The shop has a lot of charm and has that 1940s/50s soda shop vibe. Closest thing you’ll get to time travel. Definitely worth a visit. They have their original menu in the window from way back when but it doesn’t highlight that it’s not their current menu so don’t fret, the hot open Turkey sandwich isn’t $40 😂 but it was 40 cents once upon a time!

This place has a great old-timey, Rockwellian atmosphere. The menu offers up many classic hard-served ice cream options. We loved the scoops of ice cream and sundaes!

Juicy, thick, perfectly cooked fresh burger, crisp fries, creamy milk shake, delicious smooth chocolate... OMG!! So happy that we stopped in! We were just visiting the town for a soccer game. Didn't know about the place. We felt the history and hospitality as soon as we walked in. I understand where all these good reviews come from!

A little pricey for what you get. Food was good, nothing spectacular. Loved the old school feel. Ice cream was homemade and yummy.

I ordered a chocolate cone with sprinkles. My husband ordered a chocolate and peach hot fudge sundae. It was all so delicious and the atmosphere and service are great.

The food and ice cream was delicious. The staff were very friendly. Stepping in here will bring you back to the 1950s, that being said the entire shop seemed to be run by an older couple definitely in there 70s plus , who could barely keep track of the orders and were completely overwhelmed by the amount of customers. We had to wait a long time to pay while everyone else who came in after us got there cones and paid quickly, had to ask twice for ketchup, had to wait a long time to pay and it just seemed like they were making prices at whim and typin them into the register but I'm not gna argue. Also there was a man working there in an extremely dirty shirt I understand it's an ice cream shop but have backups it was really not acceptable and kinda gross. But overall food delicious. Obviously a small owned family business so please support them and visit. Critiques are only because I hope they can grow as a business and stay afloat in these modern times.

Personally, I love this place. Came here as a kid all the time and stop in every so often. Still love this place. Burgers are juicy, fries crisp, ice cream smooth, and candy fresh. There is a reason the shop has been open for almost a century. Highly recommended for anyone visiting Northport, looking for a place to take the family, or to go on a date.

I've been going to Northport Sweet Shop since childhood - same friendly owners, same hometown atmosphere and yummy food. I don't love locally anymore but visit this place every time I'm back home. It's nice to know that some things never change!

Our cousins who live in Long Island and are food connoisseur always take their guests (us) to this place for superb ice creams and sugar free chocolates and sweets. Very nice old establishment. Will try their burgers on next visit.

This place is like stepping back in time. I am thankful it’s still running because it’s the only place I’ve been to outside of NYC that makes a real egg cream and hand-pulled milk shake. Everything about this place feels like a movie set. The owners have had the place in their family for over 100 years and are always willing to talk to patrons about the history no matter how busy. They still offer homemade ice creams and candies. Everyone should come here at some point!
