This is my favorite Mexican restaurant in the Bay Area. It has wonderful dishes you don't find in other places. This family run restaurant has great service and a warm atmosphere. Sit on the patio and have a margarita with lunch. You can't go wrong.
I had a half dozen BBQ oysters a chicken taco and a margarita. Eduardo took care of me.
I have loved going to Las Guitarras for about 26 years. Always great food & service. I really love the outdoor seating. Las Guitarras feels like home.

Had a great time there for Cinco de Mayo with some very old friend. Friend since high school. The Oysters were absolutely amazing. The chips and were warm crispy and the Margaritas were made perfect. They had a girl paint the kids faces. Had a great time

What a great family ran restaurant! The food is delicious! No watered down drinks! Super friendly and fund staff. And the boss lady Lisa is a hottie! I will definitely be back and bring more people with me!
This is a most pleasant spot to be while in Novato on a sunny day. The garden patio provides a relaxing place to enjoy a delicious meal. Yesterday I had the chilie Rellenos and a Margarita. Los Guitarras is definitely a Novato institution, a longstanding family owned restaurant dedicated to serving the best and making guests welcome as family. Service is excellent and the flan is creamy and satisfying. On my next visit I will have a full meal with combination plate of chille rellenos and tamales. Or maybe the chicken mole, this definitely a place to relax and enjoy and even to celebrate.
Thank you for a lovely, authentic meal. The guacamole was bomb, so was the chicken tortilla soup and strawberry margarita. My chicken chimichanga was delicious and my daughter enjoyed her steak tacos. The staff was friendly and attentive. The owner was super friendly and went to every table to make sure guests were happy. Definitely going to try Dwayne Johnson's tequila! The patio outside was lovely and we enjoyed the fountain and overall ambiance. Definitely will be back!
We were here for a meeting and were in the upstairs room. The restaurant is really festive and the food was good. The staff were very helpful and kind.
Always great food good price and always comes out hot. The people who work here are always very nice and take good care of you. You can eat inside or there's a very nice patio out front. The place has been here for years and it is family run. Do yourself a favor if you haven't tried it give it a try I'm sure you'll go back. By the way the margaritas are excellent too. 😎
Had our association’s December meeting here and it was awesome. I loved the private room upstairs and the bar at the base of the stairs.
I am a vegetarian and very picky about the food I eat. I ordered the Supreme nachos with black beans and was pleasantly surprised to find out they do not use lard but only vegetable oil. That definitely made my sensitive body happy. Being a chip lover, I always look for good thick authentic chip and that's exactly what they have here! I ate a whole basket to myself + the chips that were included in the nachos. And can we talk about dessert? We (daughter and I) were surprised when a large bowl of delicious vanilla ice cream and 4 churros arrived which were absolutely delicious. Aside of the food being wonderful, the ambiance outside is so cute and comfortable and to add a cherry on the top the service was friendly and amazing! My overall experience was outstanding!!!
They had some issues with service post pandemic, but have resolved them. California Mexican food is better than elsewhere. Check this place out. You will probably have leftovers too.
It really is our go-to place when my Mexican-food-eschewing husband is away. Kids and I adore all the choices, tho I admit to ALWAYS getting the chorizo quesadilla.

A wonderful restaurant of food and service. I feel like I'm eating in my grandma's kitchen. The pozole (slow cooked, tender chunks of pork) is so special so when on the menu go for it. Love the mole poblano, my favorite dish and always a birthday treat. My husband loves the chili Colorado most. Hungry for it now, so guess what's for dinner?!
Very solid choice. Fresh chips. Nice spicy salsa and they offer shredded beef. Only improvement I would suggest is to increase the size of the margaritas.
