Was really pleasantly surprised by my egg salad sandwich and coffee here. Definitely a quieter more lowkey alternative to Philz across the street. Accessible outlets are a big help and there’s a ton of outdoor seating. Usually pretty crowded in the morning but it settles in the afternoon
This is my favorite place to get beans in the East Bay. A quality roaster with full bodied (not scorched) dark roasts. Definitely not third wave, but that just means their roasts have more variety. Their cafe is great, too. It's one of the only places I know where their mochas aren't overly sweet. W
Open again! Remodelling is finished and the retail store opened Monday, 11 March 2019. Still the same "always good coffee and friendly staff."
Some of the best coffee locally, both beans and drinks. Friendly staff and always patient with my questions. Great for gifts -- everyone loves it (well, all my coffee lovers do. They also sell bulk tea).

This coffee shop has been a great choice for years. Yummy food, lovely atmosphere, good service. The Arnold Palmer is really good, indicating that both the lemonade and the tea used are high quality.
