This the one of the best Japanese chicken curry ive had in bay area, very considerative service (there was one thats even better but closed one year ago). The fried chicken was tasty and mild juicy, the curry is decent . But when you mix the chicken, curry, red pickle and rice together in one bite. The taste was outstanding! Will come again!
Perfect conveyor belt (boat stole) sushi place. You come in, you sit, you eat. Large variety of yummy fresh rolls and other options from the menu. Friendly staff.
Sushi:Good! Chawan mushi:some bad seafood smell, Raman: can't compare with Ippudo but okay, Combination dinner: Saba is very good. Waiting time: long as hell.
Been going here for 6yrs and have never been disappointed. Staff are always friendly, sushi/sashimi dishes are always fresh, my favorite is the crazy monkey roll. Kids love the sushi boat experience; pick from 5 different price levels based on plate color. This will always be our neighborhood sushi place...
I love Japanese cuisine, and have traveled to Japan enough to understand what it's meant to be. My first comment here: the reviews are hot and cold, and neither extreme capture this place. So check out Yelp or other online review forums, that have closer to 100 reviews. That said, I like Takara Sushi. My kids LOVE it. The sushi is fine: clean, tasty and good. It is not the best sushi in the Bay Area, but it's better than most. I've visited this place maybe 20 times over a few years, and have never had a bad experience with the food. So the really bad reviews seem weird. Who knows? I've never had a problem. The servers are generally friendly, but I would call the service hit-and-miss. When it's good, no worries. When this place gets busy though, things can slow down - sometimes enough to be annoying. On the whole, I'd give it a B+, which is better than most. My favorite place for sushi is down near Palo Alto. But I am always happy to go here, no question. Thumbs up!
Absolutely love this place. I have tried many sushi places and at the end I still vote for Takara sushi. Very cozy and friendly environment. They have many vegetarian options and good service. We told the gentleman who was making the sushi that we are vegetarian and he made us special sushi with amazing design. Best best best
