Very good barbeque! We really enjoyed everything we had. I had the ribs & brisket with corn on the cob & coleslaw for my sides. The meat was juicy & tender. There was a light smoky flavor to the meat but not overpowering. They have 4 barbecue sauces that are on the table to put on your meat. There was a Carolina sauce, Sweet sauce, Spicy sauce & a Blueberry sauce. All of the sauces had good flavor. The corn was moist & sweet with a light smoky flavor. The coleslaw was fantastic. My spouse had the pulled pork sandwich. It was piled high with delicious pulled pork. That meal came with french fries which were also quite tasty. We will definitely be going back again!

FatBoys accommodated our end-of-season swim banquet for 70 people. The service was quick and friendly, the food was delicious and portions were very generous. Chris, the manager, was very helpful with booking the event and is quick to respond to any questions I had while scheduling.

Stopped in for lunch. I was pleasantly surprised as I heard they were a little over priced. They are not. You get a lot of food for what they charge. I had the brisket and the ribs. My girlfriend had the burnt ends sandwich. Sides were okra, green beans and french fries. Everything was hot and tasty. The rub on the ribs was a little different. Not in a bad way but different. Their cornbread is just the way I like it.....with corn and jalapenos. Don't worry, it is not as spicy as you would think. Their BBQ sauces are Carolina---mustardy, Sweet---not too sweet, and Spicy---not too spicy. I will definitely eat here again.

Went for the first time since it has been reopened. Aaron took care of us as soon as we walked in the door. The food and service is out of this world. Glad to see this ocala staple still going strong

I'm not a BBQ kind of gal, but this was some of the absolute best I've had in a very long time, and you could smell how good it was going to be from outside. The pulled pork was tender and full of flavor, and the fried okra tasted fresh. The sweet tea was actually sweet too! This was proper southern BBQ and I'll happily go back for more.

The food was fabulous! Do not miss the nachos! The staff was friendly, and the space was spotless with a relaxed vibe. The price is right for the portion and quality. My only complaint is I was too full to try the cobbler; I’ll be back!

Very happy to have a solid BBQ place on the east side. Ribs were delicious, I really liked the jalapeno cornbread and the many different sauce choices. We will be back soon.

Recently visited on the official grand opening. The overall look and feel of the place is nice. Has sort of a 4 Rivers vibe with the decor and how you order. I really like how they kept the original sign and pay homage to the old Six Gun Territory. The lady who greeted and helped us was especially friendly and answered all of our questions and made recommendations for us (I wish I remembered her name). She really made a big difference in the whole experience. We got the ribs and the pulled pork (they were out of brisket at the time) as well as green beans and Mac n cheese. The ribs were fantastic (didn’t even need sauce) and the pork was good too. I like the choice of sauces, all of which were good. I was however a little disappointed in the sides. The green beans were fresh but lacked flavor and still had a lot of stems and such in them as if they weren’t properly snapped. The mac n cheese was also average (seemed like Velveeta). I will say that the value in what you get here is worth it overall. The smokehouse plate (what we got) had 2 meats, 2 sides, and corn bread for $15 (enough to possibly feed 2 people). I really want to see this place succeed, as it is an Ocala staple with a rich history and I’m tired of chain restaurants running the show, so please understand this feedback comes from a place of love. My personal opinion is that they should charge more money for the food (or possibly cut portions) but increase the overall quality of the food so they can stand out against the competition. If they don’t change things up a bit I’m afraid they may not make it, because currently if you want value bbq you go to Sonny’s and if you want quality you go to Big Lee’s. This place I feel falls somewhere in between and could easily be forgotten. All in all, I will definitely be back because I want to try the sliced brisket and the burnt ends, as well as some other sides, so I can make a better assessment (one visit isn’t really fair). *UPDATED* Went back for a second visit, got the brisket and chicken with baked beans and coleslaw….WOW! Everything was fantastic this time around, but I am surprised to say that the chicken and baked beans stole the show (and I’m a big fan of brisket so that says a lot). Both were hands-down the best I’ve had at any restaurant, including Big Lee’s. I will definitely be back a third time to try the brisket again. I found out afterward that they had just ran out after our order, so I’m assuming I got the last of the bunch and obviously not as fresh/probably dried out a bit. Even so, it was still quite delicious and I can only imagine what it must be like fresh. I was told 11am (when they open) is the prime time to grab some so I will definitely be back! 5 stars now for sure!

Best Pork Ribs in the county!!! Lunch special is awesome!! Edited July 1, 2023. Newly renovated and managed by “CHRIS” we read the reviews since the grand opening and what others have told me, but 4 of us decided to go back again and try it now! Walked in to nicely remodeled restaurant and walked in to a counter service, when we were told about the menu up on the wall. Many choices , with plates and sandwiches and sides . We We were given the menu information by an employee and ordered and paid with a card, and we added our tip to the bill before we had our food….. We were given our large styrofoam cups for our drinks , and poured our own from a fountain area, and went to our table. Our food was brought out by 2 people in about 7 minutes ! One dinner was pulled pork sandwich with fries , two , 2 meat plates with 2 sides , and one “senior meat meal” with one side”. ( I asked if they had one meat meal) ! The ribs were large and fall off the bone and very good. 2 ribs came with the one meat meal, and with the 2 meat meals, and they also had brisket. We enjoyed the crinkle cut fries, Cole slaw and Mac n cheese but the baked beans had jalapeño, and were hot and we only had one or two bites. All the BBQ sauces , including a tasty blueberry sauce was on the table. The side servings were all very large. We will come back ! We mostly liked everything and the free drink refills ! Next time, we will know what sides we will order!!! Much better than a chain restaurant! Support Local Businesses!!

I got the double meat platter with fries and Mac and cheese.... everything tasted tender and tasty with a nice kick on the meat and sauces. Mac& cheese is moreso creamy than cheesy but the taste is still very yummy and love the 4 cheeses! I wanted to try the jalapeño cornbread or the jalapeño poppers but got more Texas toast instead :/ so will have to come back to try that and the poppers! Very well priced for everything imo But so excited for a local spot to stay open and be thriving this well!!! Currently only open 11-4 for the soft launch and signs say they open officially June 20th... nice upgrades to the building and like the new touches on the menu

Fat Boys BBQ, I love this place! All of the food I've had in two experiences has been really good. The ribs, brisket, and pulled pork are amazing! I loved the old Fat Boys but now it's next level. The location is the only thing that is the same so theres no comparison. You will just have to taste it for yourself.

Stopped here for dinner and really enjoyed it. We had the pulled pork and brisket and they were amazing. The sides were obviously homemade and were delicious! The service was top notch, they kept stopping by the table to see if we needed anything! Very good!

Went for the first time since the remodel, today for lunch. To be honest, I miss the old style. Wish the new owners could have incorporated some of the old look, like the timber looking beams. I totally get that the old place needed a make over. Part of my gripe is sentimental selfishness. I have vivid memories of going there with my family when I was 7 years old on our way to Six Gun Territory. That was June 1974 and STILL my measuring stick for THE best sliced pork sandwich. My Dad (RIP) agreed. TODAY....I walked in hardly 5 minutes after opening. Staff was working hard and very friendly. I'm sorry but the School Cafeteria set up was a mistake. I was only the fourth in line and the set up causes a jam at the door. That HAS to be a PITA when REALLY crowded. Not on the menu but I asked for a sliced pork sandwich fries and Coke. With $3 tip, it was about $18. I thought steep, at first, BUT...you DO get a BIG sandwich for the money and the fries were awesome. My only gripe about the food was some fat on the sliced pork. I will say that I am picky about fat. I know other BBQ fans who would be fine with it. The flavor was very good though and the pork very tender.Gotta say...The old Fat Boys had very little fat on theirs. Just saying. Where I sat, I could see the staff was working hard and very polite. A sweet young lady walked around making sure everyone was pleased. I read some early reviews that slammed the new Management but I think they have drastically improved. My biggest beef is the seating. I saw one or two couples trying to find seating with space from others. You guys might wanna rethink that. Overall, very tasty food and a hard working staff.

So yummy... I had the loaded potato, it comes with brisket but I'm not a fan so I changed it to pulled pork and left off the pickled onions. Mt husband had the burnt ends sandwich combo and it was enough for the 2 of us to have a sandwich and it came with their homemade BBQ chips. They also make a blueberry Chipotle bbq sauce that was on the table with the others and it was so good. The Mgr, was so sweet and she sat down and talked to us about the restaurant and the food and it's all so fresh and done right there.
