Second time coming here and always have been busy. I believe is really popular in this area. It’s a real American restaurant. The waitress are always nice and kind but there not enough in order to give a better service talking about waiting time. It’s not my favorite style food (I like more healthy food lol) but it’s my boyfriend’s style so he loves it. He got waffles with scrambled eggs and bacon and he said it was yummy!

My friend and I stopped in for lunch on a whim. I was attracted to the picture of a dog saying "doggone good food". Apparently Darrell's is a chain of restaurants with multiple locations in the Marion, Sumter, and The Villages area, which I have never heard of before. They are open for breakfast and lunch. My friend described it as a real diner. It has customer restrooms, free off street parking. They accept cash, credit and debit cards as payment. Menu is not robust: one double sided menu coveted the extent of the items, but it has common breakfast and lunch options, which was good enough for us. I didn't see that alcohol was served (which makes sense for their operations hours). The tables and dinnerware were clean, staff were friendly. It did take awhile for my bacon and Eggs to arrive while my friend's bacon cheeseburger that also took a bit too long, arrived way before mine. It wasn't busy, so the delay and gap in service of the 2 meals didn't make sense, but the food was good enough when it did get here. They air conditioned inside dining, and a few outside table with a prominent bowl of water for guest dogs. I wouldn't object to going back another time. It was okay.
Stopped in the other day and was a great experience from the second we walked in the door. Food was pretty good and fairly priced. Still a little room for improvement but for what it is it's expected. Service was on point, beyond what you would expect. If they keep the same energy and quality this will be our regular breakfast spot.
Good food, friendly service, a bit pricey for what it is for breakfast ($2.99 coffee).
Our group of friends ate breakfast here on a Tuesday morning in October of 2022. We enjoyed our meal and Carolyn was helpful and friendly.
We meet once per month for breakfast and this stop was noticeably more expensive than our other stops. I don't drink coffee, but my friends who do definitely were a little surprised by the $2.99 price for a cup of coffee. Entree prices were fair and included a side or two.
There are a total of 13 Darrell's locations as of today and lunch prices are a little more in line with the market, so I suggest giving them a shot for lunch.
Had a wonderful experience! Lisa was our server she was very pleasant and the food was fantastic and well priced! I ordered a create my own omelette with hashbrowns it came out perfect! Our new go to spot!
The food tasted great but the omelets were very small hardly any meat or vegetables inside but it was cooked perfectly and service is over the top. I guess order two omelets and have combined together
Dined there this morning, Joe was friendly and attentive. Very professional. The food quality was average. But it was worth going to because of all the kind staff. Dined at a previous diner on Salt Springs blvd and let's say the attitude of our waitress was subpar. We left after being treated unprofessional.
Came in late. Server let us know it was just him and the cook. A few tables were full. Ordered breakfast and it came out quickly. Food was delicious. Prices were very reasonable for the amount of food. Service was great. Clean premises too.
I walked in here a little after 7am and the waitress greeted me with a big smile she was so happy and gave me that same energy I couldnt believe how pleasent she was I had to give her the compliment with so many people in the world. I also sat down and got my drink which it was sweet tea and omg thats the best sweet tea I ever had in my whole entire life you can also tell they keep the machine clean the tea was so fresh. and the breakfast I ordered looks amazing as I sit in the parking lot giving this review.
Hearty, home style cooking. Several different specials offered daily. The staff is friendly and efficient. Marie has always been my favorite server. She is exceptional at her job! She is very personable, remembers my usuals and cracks me up with her down to earth personality and “sass”! She is a true asset and is why I patronize the diner.
We had visited Florida a few months ago & visited,,,Now we live here..I told my hubbie I wanted to go back bc of the food experience we had and we found you. Best Believe, you'll see us alot..The service, atmosphere & food is Rated #1 in our book..Thxs
Smoked sausage platter was sooooo tasty! I saw the pictures before I went and decided to get the platter! Definitely worth it! The home fries were nice and crispy! Sausage gravy is awesome! And I love the peppers and onions! Yummmy breakfast ! And good priced for large potions!
The food is always good and usually perfectly proportion. Great service and quiet atmosphere. I would recommend for anyone.
Not to bad for a small diner the prices are reasonable and the coffee was fresh not sure of why there are negative reviews the waiters are super friendly the restaurant very clean food came out quick and pretty good for two adults and one kids meals was a decent price of 30$ would recommend to come here if your visiting or if your a local and want good food and friendly waitresses that make you feel at home with their welcoming attitudes !
A word of warning, Not every Darrell's Diner has good food. BUT, this one on Pine Avenue DOES! We have had multiple meals here. Again and again, the food has been phenomenal, served hot, fresh, huge portions, excellent waitresses, just an all-around fantastic meal time after time, dependably good. This is one of those places where you take the wife if she's not sure what she wants to eat. They have a great cross-section of everything just sit her down and pick any entree and her dinner will be fantastic. She'll be full and happy and you'll have a new favorite place to go to.
Very nice staff and patrons, good breakfast and very clean. We enjoyed our visit there. Will be back.
I went to Darrel’s Diner (Pine Ave location) several times over a two-week period in December 2022. I went with two family members at different times in the day. The diner was always very clean, even when busy. The servers were friendly and efficient. They got our orders exactly right every time. We got many different selections, both breakfast and lunch, and the food was always fresh, at the perfect temperature, and just downright delicious. The iced tea was great, and the bottomless cup of coffee was fabulous. I’d highly recommend them—they even get the grits right!
My bf loves Darrells. Me not so much. I do like that the owner helps people in recovery, for that reason, he gets a 10
