One thing to say. Very large portions. The food was good and tasty. They have really big portions, for a good price. We ate BBQ mix and shrimps with chicken. I recommend them

Prepared / Customized for veg options and quick service / large quantities as well, have a small sit out place (accommodates 10 to 15), shop was open on public holiday when near by places were closed.

Tried some more substantial fare at this location farther down the southern coast. Holy it's a hot spot - a constant flow of locals getting decent take-out grub. Tried the Kailua cabbage pork and beef short ribs - both juicy and tender. Atmosphere cleaner and brighter than the Captain Cook location.

No nonsense Hawaiian food since 1952! The food is plentiful and the taste is Delish!

Unbelievably enormous menu for a small restaurant with good service and indoor and outdoor seating. The portions are huge and enough for two. The katsu and Mac salad were good.

Amazing food, amazing staff, perfect for the late night munchies. I recommend a stop here for some veggie fried rice and good times.

Just like the one in Colorado Springs (or moreso the one in Colorado Springs is like it), the difference being this one has more oriental food choices. The food was great! The restrooms next door were sketchy at best though.

L&l is a really amazing little place to get some really good food. I fell in love with the garlic ahi when I was on the big island, it's really tasty. The mahi was absolutely out of this world good. Super fresh clean taste, made fresh. Everyone told me this is like the Hawaiian McDonald's, and they have locations on the west coast mainland. Will definitely be back!

I like that these are the same folks every time I go there, and they get to know you. They keep everything clean and friendly. I mean thank god for LnL. I’m stoked we have some good hot food out here. I always call ahead.

We love L & L in Hawaiian Ocean View. Service is great. Food is also very good. Prices and portions are nice with a lot of menu options. Something for everyone, with plate lunches and burgers with fries and so much more.

It's L&L, so nobody expects fancy. But if you want quick comfort food that's delicious and good service, then this is your place. Love the Spam & eggs plate.

It's nothing special to look at, though clean and fresh. But the food was exceptional for the price. Kind people. The fried shrimp, fish, and mochiko chicken were very good. The mochiko was so good we go some more to go. Tasty Mac salad too. Didn't love the bbq chicken. It was cooked well, but the soy /teriyaki sauce was a little salty intense for me. Maybe add pineapple juice?

I had the lau lau combo--without, really knowing what to expect. Fabulous flavor. Very large portions! No bathroom.

We were on our way to check out Punalu'u and ran into L&L at this location. Glad they had dine in so my hubby could take a break from driving and enjoy his food. We ordered the beef siamin and loco moco. The regular serving for the loco moco is good for 2 people. I always enjoy it with a dash of hot sauce. You can definitely share if needed.

I have been to pretty much every L&L in Hawaii and Ocean View is the best. They actually chop the vegetables in the vege omelet.

Located right off HWY 11. Lots of parking available. Loco moco was good. Mix BBQ was delicious. Place is chaotic.

On July 1, 2023, three of us embarked on a mission to eat musubi at all 12 L&L locations on the Big Island. This was our second to last stop on our endeavor and after having driven over an hour from our last stop, we were ready to consume another loaf of rice topped with sodium meat. This location was nice, the outdoor seating was lovely, and the service was exactly what you would expect from an L&L. The musubi was fine, and I am sure the rest of their menu is par for the course. I have driven past this location for years and am happy I finally stopped in. Yes, we did finish our mission, and when rating all 12 locations, this was right in the middle of the ratings. Not spectacular, but certainly nowhere close to the worst (Hilo mall location).

The food is good but there are no gluten free options here at all.
