El Matador - Ogden - Photo album

The service and food were really good. The restaurant itself seems quaint but if you take a walk around it's really big! The food took between 10-15 minutes to come out but it was fresh and HOT. I had El Matador and the wifey had cheese enchiladas. I appreciated the classic rice and beans that didn'
4.0 stars, Great place to visit, food is very tasty and is above average for mex food. Salsa served with shredded cheese is great and very tasty. Entries are very good size and never have let us down. Bern here a dozen or so times in the past couple of years. Instagram @utah_foodie
This has been a local favorite for well over a decade! Great food and friendly service. Even when busy we still get our food in a very reasonable time. The nachos supreme are amazing!!!!! Heaping piles of meat, cheese and guacamole. It is an appetizer and it's HUGE! If you plan to eat this for your
Super yummy place! It’s been around forever. I recommend the cheese enchilada with the shredded beef enchilada! The salsa is sooo good!!! Expect to wait about 25 minutes to be seated but it’s worth it! You get so much food and you won’t be able to finish.
This is our go to place for a filling meal. I get the Vera Cruz. It has two breaded shrimp that are good size. They have got smaller over the years. It is still my fav. My wife gets the el Matador all the time. We really need to branch out. I love the salsa here. Service is good as long as it is not
My dad said he used to come here when he was in high school thirty years ago. The decor is cool, the servers were very nice, and the food was yummy. They gave us sopapillas and they were delicious. My dad always gets the fried shrimp platter. I got the chimichangas. Things on the menu were around $1
My partner loves Mexican food, so since we were just at Ogden Contemporary Arts at The Monarch, we decided to walk over. He loved his taco/enchilada/tostada combo, especially the enchilada sauce, and the chicken salad was a great "healthier" option for me (I avoided the sour cream and cheese). I had
Good food and attentive waitstaff took a bit longer for our food to arrive but this could be caused from us arriving right when they open and an already busy restaurant due to a parade just ending.
They were clearly understaffed and overwhelmed when we went in with a larger party. The food was overall pretty good and the service did their best. The nacho plate was huge!
This place has been around since I was very young. The place has a great ambiance, the food is great and the servers are really nice.
Love this place been coming here sense I was a little kid best Mexican food ever the menu is a little small cause Of the rona but the quality is just the same nothing else has changed can’t wait tell next time we come back highly recommend the cheese in the salsa 👌
We were pleasantly surprised at how good this food is. Probably the best Mexican restaurant in Ogden thus far. And the service was wonderful. Our waitress (MamaG) was so kind and sweet. Made us feel right at home. This will be our new Go To Mexican food restaurant
Good food! The chips were better than the tostada shell so I ate it with them. But it was good!!!
We first tasted the great Mexican food at El Matador in the 1970’s and loved the vibe, the service and the homemade food. Fast forward 40 years and we find ourselves in Ogden looking for lunch and to our surprise the Original El Matador is still alive and kicking. Almost noting had changed, same bui
