Awesome. Best burgers in town
Not a bad burger...but. This was my first time to Johnnie's. I got the Caesar burger and onion rings. The burger was just that, a burger covered in a Caesar salad. Nothing special. The salad was a little bland. Needed some seasoning but the burger had a good taste. The onion rings were heavy. Something about the batter did not sit right with me. Wish I gotten the fries. I am willing to go back again and try something else.
Where's the mushrooms?. I love Johnnie's. Their burgers and hot dogs are so good!. But my favorite hamburger is a mushroom swiss burger and it kills me that they don't have it at this place, which is, supposed to be, a burger place!!! Everything there is pretty good. I like that you can get free fried onions. Still want some mushrooms though!! Onion rings, french fries and homemade chips are delicious. They used to have a really good salad, now just kinda plain salads. But if you're going to Johnnie's, you're probably going for a burger.
Simply the best!. Always has been and always will be the best hamburger place in OK! Enough said!
The Secret in Johnnie's Sauce. I do not know the ingredients in Johnnie's sauce, but it was pretty good. This was my first trip to any Johnnie's location. I went there with a friend who has been there several times before. I ordered a #5 but with grilled onions instead of chopped onions. I also got a small order of fries. A. Tevington is right about the fries. The order sizes are generous. I took some home with me.
My hamburger had all the characteristics that I like. It was served hot. It had all of the toppings I requested and none of the toppings that I didn't request. It was cooked uniformly all the way through the patty. The bun was substantial enough to hold the burger and its juices.
My friend said that Johnnie's sauce is like spicy ketchup, and that's what I would call it too. It bears a strong resemblance to standard chili sauce (like the kind that you would use for sloppy joes). My burger had enough Johnnie's sauce on it so that you tasted it, but it did not completely overpower the burger. Next time I think I will order it on the side to experiment with it.
This place is worth a try if you're looking for a good tasting hamburger served fairly quickly but you don't have to have a gourmet burger.
OMG. A. TIVINGTON hit the nail on the head. I've been eating Johnnie's since it was on Britton and May....well over 13-15 years ago, maybe longer.....never had anything different than the #13....Frankfurter with cheeseand cheese. I know all meat products are from Schwabs that go into the #13. For quite some time, I have asked for my own special #14....the double decker...but they still make me order 2 sandwiches....but I do it. I know they do one thing right besides home-cut fries and massive rings!!!
We have eaten at Johnnie's numerous times and have yet to be disappointed. The burgers are wonderful. Fries could be crispier, but the onion rings are some of the best I've ever had. We had some last night and decided the onion ring batter is similar to an 11 spice Kentucky colonel's original chicken batter, but a touch sweeter. Johnnie's does what they do very well.
A great local place. They make a seriously good burger @ Jonnies and they have different toppings for different tastes, with some very orginal burgers to sample.
The Theta, a burger witha a smokey sauce, mayo and pickle (cheese optional) is the most original burger I have ever had anywhere. The Caesar is also another twist on the plain old burger. A burger with nothing but lettuce and Jonnies Caesar dressing and although it might sound plain, its far from it. The Chili Cheeseburger and Bacon Cheese burger are as good or better than anyone else's offerings of the same.
Then you have the huge (and pretty much famous) fresh onion rings which are a big time crowd pleaser. If you like oninon rings, you will love Johnnies.
If you've never been to Jonnies , I suggest you change that as soon as you find the time :D. An OKC classic.
Love It!. Clean, affordable, relaxed, and tasty. You order at the window and pick up your own food, so don't worry about a tip. You can work off the calories getting your own refills. They have number of tasty burgers to choose from and the grilled frankfurter with chili and cheese is one of my favorites. I think Johnnie's has the best onion rings in OKC.
Is there a better theta burger? Don't forget the onion rings too!
No other burger like a Johnnie's burger.
The fries are always fresh and hot.
The frankfurter sandwich is also a fave.
Save room for pie!
Staff very friendly, restaurant and bathrooms were spotless.
Have a large group? Johnnie's has a private room you can reserve.
The Burger and The Onion rings were excellent. We also got some banana cream pie. I don't know who makes their pies, but it was really good.
Very good burgers. We were SUPER excited for the fried OKRA that was on the tv next to their menu boards, but apparently that was a photo from another restaurant. Even though they didn't have the OKRA the burger and onion rings were excellent. The fries were not crunchy and a bit greasy.
Super clean. One of the cleanest I've seen. Burger was juicy and tasty, but the star was the handcut fries. So good! Will be back
One of the few remaining Johnnie's. We come here for the onion rings. They are not as good as they were 15-20 years ago, but they are still really good. Burgers were good as well.
Wonderful burgers and onion rings. Been going they for 20 years and they are always great
Our food is always delicious and your staff very kind, so I’m gonna give 5 stars despite my burger not being completely cut in half as requested. Maybe just coach your new people? We love y’all!!
Warmest Regards,
GP
Always great. Friendly staff. Didn't bat an eye to my large to go order. My favorite burger place. Was my first job when I was 15.
Met there with about 30 of my cousins and their family in the private meetings room. They brought our orders to us then I felt bad I didn't add a tip when ordering and paying. They changed the order and payment process and the cheese burger and onion rings still the best. Very friendly staff.
Great burgers. Although the food is inexpensive that doesn't reflect on the quality. A lot of bang for your buck.
I wish you would switch the fries for steak fries or something else. They are always soggy, and I am not a fan at all of your fries, and they need more salt and pepper. The onion rings could be better. The batter is too thick on them, and not much flavor. Hamburgers are always good.
Super hot food. The onion rings are a must and the chicken fried chicken was everything!
