The garlic chicken is amazing! I'll admit I was expecting more of a nugget from the menu description (garlic chicken fritters) and it was closer to a sauceless wing. But, dang, that flavor! There's a reason this place has been here for so long. Go, eat, you'll enjoy it.
The food is excellent, I have never had a complaint. We have eaten here for thirty plus years. The staff is friendly and courteous.
I have been eating at Canton since the 1980's. They have the best Chicken Chow Mein !!!! Their prices are very good. Very laid back atmosphere. The owners are very nice and remembers you.
Very very good food it's not that fast food like stuff you get at other Chinese buffet restaurants the people who work there have been there for many years and are very nice all in all its a great place to have a good meal with the family I love it.

I drive from Dallas to eat the egg rolls and chow mein at Canton! This place has been a family favorite since they opened.
The owner is very nice the service is great and the food is always fast, hot ,and delicious !!!
I have eaten at this restaurant for over 30 years they are the best at everything. The owners are awesome!!!!!
The best Chinese Food I've had in OKC. Egg rolls are incredible, sweet & sour pork is out of this world, and the chicken fried rice with their own homemade S&S sauce makes 2-3 meals. It's obvious why they have been there for over 30 years.

Have been going to canton for over 10 years and it's my favorite restaurant for Asian cuisine! Their chicken lo mein is even better re-warmed up up the next day as leftovers! Love this place
I have eaten here all my life, and I know for sure that they have the best egg rolls in Oklahoma City. The food is excellent, and the service could not be better. The family owned restaurant can stand up to any Chinese restaurant in town because it's the best.
I've been going to this restaurant since 1979 and it is still the best Chinese food in town. The egg rolls are top notch!
I have been going here since I was 16 and have always loved the food and owners!
The best in OKC!! Been coming here since I was born (1981). The egg rolls are to die for!
Love this gem of a place. It may not look like much, but it's been here for a while. I certainly understand why. Very yummy
Always excellent and a staple for my family for my entire life. We love their food.
Been going for years and years... Still a great place with the absolute best egg rolls in Oklahoma City that I've ever had in my life at a restaurant. Everything else is great too.
This is the absolute in delicious Chinese food.. If you have not been to Canton's, I feel sorry for you! The chow mein is the best, the sweet & sour pork is straight money, and the egg rolls are to die for.. Seriously, touch my last egg roll and I'm likely to end you..
Great food and great service every time!
I grew up coming to this restaurant, throughout my pregnancies, and now I've moved out of town. It's the one restaurant I actively miss. I've been trying to find out what tea they serve, but I have no idea. It's the best tea I've ever had. If anyone knows, please reply. My favorite dishes are the shrimp kew, shrimp with lobster sauce, moo goo gai pan, ah who am i kidding, they're all good. I've tried them all over the years. I just need the tea now and I might be able to hang on until my next visit back to OKC.
This place has been in business as long as I have been eating Chinese food and that is well over 40 years. Unfortunately I only became acquainted with Canton in the last few years. Back in the '70's I lived in Moore and we ate at Ding-Ho's on the southside... later I was an aficionado of Kit's in Moore. Now I'm strictly a Canton fan. Canton is the ONLY place I'm aware of that serves all of the entrees that were popular back in the '70's including Almond Duck and Butterfly Shrimp, as well as all the currently popular dishes.... though for one or two, the name is archaic. Every modern Chinese restaurant has sweet and sour chicken, but 40 years ago it was always called "Hawaiian Chicken" or "Hawaii Guy" as it is still called at Canton.
Food is a matter of personal taste, so you may or may not like Almond Duck. I do, it is a personal favorite but I have not been able to find it since Kit's went out of business decades ago. The same with Butterfly Shrimp. It used to be a staple of Chinese restaurants, but you pretty much can't find it except at Canton... and if you have never tried it, you should. While food in general may be a matter of taste, it seems like some dishes have specific qualities that draw people... so if you love the dish, there is only ONE WAY of doing it right. That must be true with eggrolls. If you read enough of these reviews, you'll find people almost unanimously praise Canton's eggrolls. Yes, they are the best being served anywhere. Period. I will say I used to like Kit's 30 years ago better... but it has been so long that nostalgia may be causing me to think so. But whether Kit's was as good... Canton is the current King of Eggrolls. The fact so many people here agree, even when they sometimes disagree on other elements, tells you something.
Some people here have criticized both the service and the food. I frankly don't see it. I guess it is possible that on one day things were off for some reason... or perhaps the reviewer personally had a bad day and Canton caught hell because of it. I know when I am in a bad mood, I find reasons to dislike things. But I can tell you I have eaten at Canton many times and have eaten at the far more "upscale" Lido in the Little Saigon area and I can say I find far more variability at Lido, as good as it is, than I find at Canton. So, maybe there have been problems occasionally.... but frankly I just don't see it.
Perhaps the main issue with the bad reviews is the prominence of good reviews here. Perhaps people go after reading the reviews thinking they'll be at some world-class Chinese Bistro. NO. This is a Mom-and-Pop hole-in-the-wall Chinese restaurant. Go to Canton often enough and they'll know you by name and you'll be a member of the family. Try THAT at a world class "bistro." You won't be getting artsy-fartsy fancy Chinese. You'll be getting all of the good-old Chinese American dishes that made the cuisine an American favorite... and all of them perfectly cooked. You just can't beat the Hawaii Guy or the Sesame Chicken! Is it high art? No. Is it damned good? Yes... and there is plenty of it. If you go with the right attitude, this is pretty nearly the perfect Chinese restaurant.
Best egg rolls in america been going here for 37 years same owners it's a treasure !!!!!! Soup is underrated and service is usually great also
My boyfriend and I eat a lot of Chinese food and this is by far our absolute favorite place to go! He and his family have been going here for years. I went into it having no idea what to expect and it is truly AMAZING! Their egg rolls are the BEST I've ever had! The service is great and they make you feel like you're family. Would absolutely recommend to EVERYONE!
Staff was friendly and attentive, the food was fresh, and tasted good. I don't really feel like writing one hundred and forty c h a r t e r s , I'm not wanting to write an English comp paper.
Best egg rolls in town. Best pork fried rice you've ever had. Best sweet and sour chicken in town, too, although they call it "Hawaii Guy". This place looks like a dump from the road but it's been in business about 40 years. The three dishes I mentioned are can't miss.

Best food in oklahoma. Would eat here every single day if I could! Ive been to 5 different Chinese food places and they all suck except this one! The food is fantastic by far my favorite place to eat! Been going here for 17 years!
This is the best Chinese food in Oklahoma, possibly the world. I would highly recommend the butterfly shrimp and Hawaiian guy. This place is not one to be missed out on
After reading the reviews, I tried out this little place for lunch... Since have been back numerous times.
Family owned, same friendly waitress doing all tables solo every time I have been. Lunch combo's are all under 5.00 and they are huge... One called the lunch special @ 4.65 has egg roll, chicken chow mein, and garlic chicken wings.
I'd highly recommend this place & it is the truth that they have AMAZING egg rolls.
Go if your reading this!
Been in the family longer than I've been alive. Im 30. Best Chinese I've ever had. Only place I'll eat egg rolls.
I've eaten here for 40 years, best egg rolls period!
Always Good!!. We have been coming here for years and the food is always great. Canton is the only restaurant that has never been a disappointment!

Great food and service. Had dinner here on 07-20-13 after reading reviews on this site, meal served family style (like it should be) ordered dinner for 4 plus broccoli w/chicken and steamed rice, fried rice on the dinner for 4. Ample portions, great taste, and the egg rolls were great. Told the owner/manager(not sure) that we would be back the next Sunday with more diners in our group and he said they were going to be closed for vacation and I told him "see you when you get back" Passed by this place many times, glad I finally stopped in thanks to Urbanspoon reviewers!
Egg Roll Heaven!. Let me tell you about these egg rolls: Perfectly wrapped, perfectly cooked, delicious on the inside, delicious crispy peanuty flavor on the outside. Holy crap! These egg rolls put every one else's in town to SHAME! Period! Don't go anywhere else for egg rolls! And the food portions are HUGE for the price. I'm going back tonight! Yummmmmy!!!
Unbeatable!. Our family has been eating here since 1972 and we all love it! The same family has owned and operated it all this time. Although it is not the fanciest place in town, it is the best. We have tried egg rolls all over the country and none are as good as Canton's. Thanks!
Super Delish!. My family has been going to the Canton for at least 30 years. It's by far the best Chinese food in the state. If you haven't had their egg rolls, you are definitely missing out. I crave their food, and when I want to have a big splurge, I always pick the Canton.
Love, love, love Canton!. My family and I have been eating Canton for years. Hands down the best (and most affordable) Egg Rolls in town! It's a great place to catch a quiet bite to eat with the family at an affordable price. Love the food and the service is great too! Wish I could go tonight!
A Guaranteed Non-Fail!. I DARE you to go here, get an order of egg rolls (3) and a bowl of egg drop soup (these I consider the basics of Chinese food) and either 1. Not order more, or 2. Come back the next night for round #2.
There is NOT better Chinese in OKC, if not the state. Guaranteed.
You Should Really Check This Place Out. Okay so my family wanted to do this double date thing and they chose to take us to Canton's....I was scared b/c it is a hole in the wall BUT let me tell you that was the BEST food I have had in a very long time. This just proves that hole in the wall restaurants have the best food....the service was over excellent....most places with check on you every 35 minutes but not Canton's....I was really impressed and will be visiting again!!!! I give this place 5 stars!!!!!!!!
Great Food. The best thing about this place is EVERYTHING. Great egg-rolls and great egg drop soups, and amazing fried rice, you can't go wrong with this place.
Still Wonderful. I have eaten at Canton for the last 28 Years. The food is still wonderful and the egg rolls are a must if you haven't tried them. I highly recommend!
Almond duck. Like nobodys buisness. this is the best. my mother use to feed it to me when i was younger and lie and tell me it was chicken. but now who cares whether its duck its awesome.
Great!. This is by far my favorite Chinese restaurant in the city. It has been in business since my parents were my age, and for good reason. Their egg drop soup is the best I have ever had, and the portions are huge for the price you pay. I recommend this place to anyone looking for some great Chinese food at a great price.
Best eggrolls ever!. They have amazing food and though my family gets their food to go for parties they have a cute decore and it's great to go there as well. I recomend the garlic fried chicken and you must try their eggrolls if you ever go. Ii am a third generation of people eating their and when any of my out of town relatives come in this is their first stop!
This has been the tradition forever!! Love this place! Will not disappoint. Hawaii guy is a great version of sweet and sour chicken! Just wonderful!!
Family Tradtion. My family has been eating here for over 30 years. My parents had there first date here and we have eaten here every Christmas since I was a little girl. I have never ordered something I didn't love and eat all of.
Supreme EggRolls !. Since I was a youngster I have been coming here. The EGG ROLLS are the best anywhere. The Garlic Chicken , Sweat and Sour and Pork Fried Rice are some of the best as well. One family has owned it for decades. If you have not tried this you have too , and say hi to Tom for me.
Shing is the best waiter ever!
Chinese/Cantonese. Awesome!!! This restaurant has been around for a very long time and its because their food is great! They have the best eggrolls and the sweet and sour shrimp is great also. Never had anything here that I didn't like!!!!
Family Favorite. My family has eaten Canton for years and we have never been let down! The Hawaii Guy and Hung Sue Chicken are a family favorite.

A whole lotta wonderful. Old restaurant but food is always fresh & hot & always made to order. Love Hawaii Guy Chicken and Shrimp fried rice
I have been coming to this restaurant for close to 30 years. The food has always been fantastic. They make the best chow mein in town and no one can touch their eggrolls. This place is old school and it shows in the quality of food they serve. Give it a try.
Me, my friends, and family have been enjoying this restaurant for nearly 50 years. Hawaii guys my personal favorite. I like the wonder bread that comes with the dinners. I like the people that take the order the family that runs the places is awesome it’s cool! Definitely an Oklahoma icon!
Little hole in the wall with great food. I can’t appreciate more how well the food tasted freshly made and no added ingredients that weren’t on the menu. Server was great for being the only one serving and everyone in the restaurant was patient with that fact. Good came out hot and delicious!

This place is now our go-to. It’s small and inconspicuous but out of this world. The people are so friendly! Sweet and sour pork is a favorite dish of mine and this is the best I have ever had! The egg drop soup was also fantastic. My kids and partner had beef lo mein, broccoli beef, and sesame chicken and everyone was happy with what they got. This is a bit further from our house and after we left our kids said “I would walk here if I had to.” Also, I was so glad with how clean they are and they were wearing masks. It’s very comforting to eat somewhere that obviously takes health seriously.
A family favorite for 40 years! Best egg rolls I've ever eaten. The Hawaii Guy and Chicken Chow Main is our go to, but I've liked everything I have tried here.
I hadn't been here in over 25 years and truly believe they haven't changed a thing. Same booths, wall art, owner and menu. Price is reasonable, you're almost guaranteed to have leftovers, and the flavor is pretty much like all other Chinese restaurants in Oklahoma. Went for an early dinner and happy to see a broad swath of diners: older couple who've been coming for decades, young family getting what appeared to be everything on the menu - even 2nd generation patrons who knew everyone by name.
Yes, there are restaurants with better decors and flavors. Yes, it isn't a place you'd take someone to impress. Yes, it's by all definition a true hole in the wall. But that's what makes it special, nostalgic and downright charming in our cookie cutter world.
I love cantons and have been coming here over 25 years. Cindy always takes care of me and I consider her a friend now. Definitely recommend coming here for some great Chinese food!
My first time here but my girlfriend has been coming here for 50 years with her family. We both got her favorite, combo A: which is egg drop soup, chicken chow mein, fried rice and egg roll. At 2pm Saturday afternoon we had the dimly lite restaurant to ourselves. Quite lobby but you could hear sounds from a busy kitchen. Food was served very hot and very tasty. Will be returning...
I've heard of no one ever speaking poorly of this restaurant and would be suspicious of any negative review. No. I am ONLY a customer of two decades who has never had a bad experience. Not an employee or relative.
Have been eating at Canton's Restaurant for years and still love the food and people. So happy that they are open again with the same food and wonderful new owners. The egg rolls are amazing! Have always had great meals and will certainly return.
This place has amazing food! Their egg rolls are the best egg rolls I've ever had in my life! And all their stir-fry chicken dishes are amazing. On top of that, the family that runs the place makes you feel right at home and are friendly and attentive. Do yourself a favor and try it out! Hidden little gem.
This is our go-to Chinese restaurant. The chicken chow mein is exceptional. The egg rolls are crisp and fresh and the vegetables aren't cooked till they're much. The sweet and sour chicken is cooked just perfectly. The food is always hot and made to order. The staff are so kind. I would recommend this Chinese food to anyone.
This is our new favorite! Comparable to Mandarin restaurant in Del City which is saying something since that has been my family’s go to place for generations. The service at Canton was very polite and attentive, the pricing is reasonable and the food is delicious! We will be back time and time again.
