December 2023:
Came here for a team dinner and ordered the crab cakes and shrimp for appetizers. Both were good.
For dinner, I ordered the rib eye steak đ„© with bone marrow butter cooked medium. The steak is "wet aged" and was very tasty đ. I'd order that again! We shared sides of broccolini, brussel sprouts, and creamed spinach.
Everything was excellent đ. Service was attentive. Would come back again for more delicious steak đ„©!
My wife and I shared the 24oz dry aged Delmonico with a baked potato and the baby carrots. Everything was exceptional. The food was great, as was the service, and the place felt just like a great steakhouse should. Not cheap, but it's nice to splurge on a great meal from time to time.
My husband and I spent our 5 year wedding anniversary evening at 801 Chophouse Omaha. We knew the food would be fantastic, but the staff made it an experience weâll never forget. For starters, we were greeted by the host wishing us a happy anniversary and were given special menus with, âHappy Anniversaryâ lettered across the top. Our server, Sarah, was absolutely wonderful. Another server we recognized as a friend from high school congratulated us and surprised with a slice of carrot cake to take home. Another host was around to ask how our evening was and to wish us a happy anniversary. The food was 10/10 perfection and Sarah went over the specials in great detail and answered any questions we had. They ended the evening with a complimentary chocolate soufflĂ© and a personalized menu to take home with, âHappy 5th Anniversaryâ lettered across the top and signed by the whole staff. This menu has since been framed and is such a sweet keepsake of the evening. Canât recommend 801 chophouse, Sarah, David, and the rest of their staff (and food) enough!
The establishment made my celebration special. The staff autographed a menu so we would have a keepsake. Dinner was beyond delicious.
It is always such a delightful time when we head over to 801 after a Sunday matinee we go here a couple times a year after one of the musicals at the Orpheum, the hours are suited very well for this. Iâm always a little surprised that thereâs not more options downtown after The musicals on Sunday. This time it was three of us two of us got the lamb which we love there and my son got the âSunday evening dinnerâ it was such a great deal, itâs a pre fixe menu that is priced around $60, and with that he got a salad, a big prime rib and chocolate cake. He always wants the French inion soup so I had his Caesar salad and he had a great bowl of French Onion soup, which he said had a great âcheese pull.â Now the only complaint Iâve ever had here and this time was no exception, is the asparagus. There are better choices and Iâm not a fan of how they cook them here.
I always recommend ordering the Grand Marnier soufflĂ© at the beginning of the meal, so that itâs ready in time for dessert as it is my absolute favorite! I didnât even get a picture of it because I was too excited to eat it :-)
You really canât go wrong with a nice meal here and I highly recommend trying things outside of a steak at any steakhouse, you may be very surprised. And I definitely need to have an honorable mention for this wonderful bottle of burgundy.
I visited Omaha from the DC metropolitan area for the first time two weeks ago. I was visiting family who recommended 801 Chophouse for dinner so we dined there on Monday 9/18 before the Dave Chapelle show nearby. My first steakhouse dining experience in the Midwest was 5+ star! I canât rave enough about the quality of food, service, and amenities offered to their guests. I ordered the Oysters Rockefeller & Lamb Lollipops as my entree meal and shared the SautĂ©ed Spinach, Mac & Cheese, and Baked Creamed Spinach as sides. I even sampled the Lobster Pasta dish. Everything was utterly delicious. Now to top off my dining experience, I headed to the Ladies Room afterwards and was surprised to see this small, yet practical amenity that all upscale restaurants should incorporate to their business model. My first ever experience of a restaurant promoting good hygiene after a meal with floss, mouthwash, and cups in their bathrooms. I was highly impressed with everything from the food/menu, ambience, down to this minimalist bathroom luxury! I wish 801 Chophouse would come to Washington DC but until then, itâs definitely on my list for future visits to the Midwest.
We went for our anniversary and had a great time. The food was awesome and the service was superb. Our waiter was very helpful with items on the menu and the off menu items as well. I would definitely recommend it.
Mrs. General and I are from Phx, AZ visiting family and celebrating Mrs. General's retirement. We visited The 801 Chophouse for the first time, yesterday 8/23/23 around 5:30 pm. This was a great time to go, as they do not have parking so your parking options are, Public Garage down the block, metered on the street or Valet (not sure what time they start) which is at the entrance to The Paxton. Plenty of street parking at that time. We started w/ the Colossal Shrimp Cocktail, then Mrs. General ordered the Petite Filet Mignon 8 oz, $62 and I had the 801 Cut Bone in Prime Rib $75 both cooked to perfection. The sides are served family style, and we had the Garlic Mashed Potatoes $15. 801 provided Mrs. General a dessert of her choice on the house as a congratulations for her Retirement. She ordered the Carrot Cake w/ Carmel Drizzle and Rum Vanilla Ice Cream. This was a 3-Layer huge piece. We loved the atmosphere and decor. The service from being greeted by the Hostess, escorted to our table by the Maitre D', attended to and educated by our waiter and meals served by his assistant was wonderful.
Thank you 801 Chophouse, Omaha for such a delicious and enjoyable experience.

Excellent food and service. It's definitely an expensive experience, but the food is always exceptionally good and prepared perfectly. On our most recent visit, my husband had the prime rib and I had the petite filet with the evening's special garlic butter mushrooms. Both our meals had great flavor, the meat was tender and cooked exactly as ordered. Great place for a special occasion or occasional fancy meal if you want to treat yourself.
Excellent steak, wedge salad, and wine. The calamari and lobster appetizers started the meal off with flair. The service was attentive and friendly. We enjoyed the Sunday night supper offerings - would highly recommend 801 Chophouse at the Paxton to our friends and neighbors. Absolutely delicious!
