It was extremely busy on my last visit, but that’s a great sign for the quality of the ice cream. The wait was well worth it. The best ice cream I’ve ever had! Thanks! I’m definitely coming back for more. Anybody visiting Omaha, Ted and Wally’s is a must!
Love this place!!! I go especially for their lemonade floats. It brings back wonderful childhood memories for me. I have yet to see another place actually have it on the menu. I have never had an experience with a bad employee and trust me I go here a lot. Wait times can be brutal but it's worth the wait. Even my 8 year old son has no problem waiting just to get ted and wallys. Will come back as often as I can.
We stopped in today before lunch because I'd heard this was some of the best ice cream in town. We were having dessert first, so I had a single scoop of Dutch chocolate with marshmallow topping and it was amazing. Rich, smooth, and great chocolate flavor. I'll be back whenever I'm in Omaha!

This is seriously the best ice cream I've ever had. The people are always very nice too. I love how they have not only different flavor options but also cater to those with different dietary needs.
Great little ice cream shop! We loved the experience and the unique flavors. Wanted to go back before we drove out of Omaha, but the line was out the door and going through the parking lot. We will definitely remember this place and go again when we head back to Omaha.
Ted &Wallys is an Old Market staple that is amazing and makes the Best ice cream that’s made on sight where you can watch them churn. Don’t miss out
The blood imperial ipa is by far the best I have ever had at t&w.
The owners of this shop and the flavors are genuine and amazing. After an off-hand experience, the owners were quick to rectify and quick to give answers. This is my go-to ice cream store and my family and I have many memories and traditions surrounding Ted and Wally's. Thank you for taking care of your customers
Throughout the years enjoying Old Market, we have passed this establishment by, not wanting to wait in the long line coming out the door and down the sidewalk. It turns out, they have a few regular staples but mostly a variety of original and unique flavors that are always changing. Delicious and fun!
We stopped in to the Benson location and my daughter who is on a keto diet had the keto friendly New York vanilla and she absolutely loved it!!!! I tried it too and I'm a fan! Awesome friendly staff! I wish we lived in the area we would definitely be regulars! Thanks again for having options for the keto community! you guys rock!!!!!
As a Soldier in the US Army I have travelled all over the World and tried Ice Cream in many places, but to this day this is still my favorite place to get Ice Cream...
I've loved every flavor I've had and customer service is always excellent.
Love the old Omaha feel when stepping into Ted and Wally’s! The owners are great and love the ice cream! The best tradition!
Our favorite ice cream in Omaha!!! 6 of us visited every ice cream shop in Omaha and it was unanimous - Ted & Wally's won our contest! The texture and unique ice cream flavors are heavenly.
Great ice cream, an awesome variety of flavors (vegan included), great atmosphere, and great service!!
They make KETO ice cream! I was so excited when we stopped and they had it listed on the board. They had Keto vanilla chocolate chip! The best! Thanks so much!
Thank you for having dairy free flavors. Our son is currently on a dairy free diet and it is nice to have an option our whole family can enjoy!
Family owned ice cream parlor in the old market area. The lines were pretty long, but moved rather quickly. We went around 3PM and the line was basically right at the front door. They have limited quantities of special ice cream so try to go there earlier than later. A few of their flavors ran out while I was eating my order in the dining area. Their signs also state that they have rotating flavors daily, not sure what the percentage is but worth multiple visits if you want to try new things. I got their Maple Latte and enjoyed it 👍🏽
Loved coming down to Ted and Wally’s tonight with the bestie to get two scoops of Ginger Ale ice cream in a waffle cone. Between the two of them, it was truly a memorable experience on a perfect night tonight. The ice cream was bursting with Ginger Ale flavour that I truly was taken aback by a little with how fresh it tasted while almost giving me the whole glass experience sans the effervescence. The waffle cone just added the perfect level of crunch and sweetness to the Ginger Ale ice cream that almost turned it into a ginger snap. Absolutely delicious! We can’t wait to go back for another round and enjoy this fantastic ice cream.
I was downtown and hungry for ice cream, so I tried Ted and Wally's. I arrived about 8:30 pm on a Monday evening and the line was out the door! This place is popular! After waiting on line for about 30 minutes it was finally my turn to order. I'm picky about ice cream, but several of the 20 or so flavors looked delicious! I wandered to try cinnamon, but they didn't know if it was gluten free, so instead I selected vanilla with a hot fudge topping. The vanilla was smooth and the fudge topping was warm and delicious. This is a fresh churned ice cream, so it has a softer consistently than most store-bought ice creams. Vanilla isn't my first choice of flavors, so I likely would have rated them higher if flavors other than vanilla and chocolate were gluten free.
Be prepared to pay premium prices for this premium ice cream! I went to the Old Market store, not the original flagship location. There was a line out the door of this small shop, but it moved quickly. I chose a single scoop on a sugar cone (a small, aka "regular"), caramel latte flavor. It was satisfying and delicious, with its 32% butterfat old-fashioned goodness. But it rang up at over $7.00! It's a favorite choice for big treat ice cream in Omaha for well-heeled locals and tourists alike. If this describes you, go for it and enjoy this traditional method (see salt and barrels in photos), all-the-fat ice cream.
The best vanilla bean ice cream I have ever tasted. The line was long, but the wait itself was short. I enjoyed the ice cream with a waffle cone and it was perfect. The waffle cone tasted fresh and like it was made in-house. The employees were nice and accommodating. Although the environment was busy, service was not lacking. Unfortunately I am not from here. Otherwise this would be my go to place for ice cream.
Just yum!!!!! The vanilla bean and Dutch chocolate ice cream were divine! Also tried the strawberry banana and green apple. Green apple had a weird aftertaste. But the strawberry banana was delicious. Great spot with a nice hometown feel. Polite and friendly staff.
Stopped in twice to indulge my sweet tooth while in Omaha. It was probably the best peaches and cream I've had! Delicious! 🍦
Cute old fashioned ice cream shop. The family really enjoyed their ice cream. They had a list of daily flavors and some mix ins as well so everyone got something they liked. The line was out the door and into the parking lot so you know it's good. 💕
The women's bathroom door does not lock! Please fix that!!
I had the Dutch chocolate. The butterfat content today is so high it is leaving an oily residue all over my lips and roof of my mouth. The flavor is great but the oily film not so much.
My husband had the Omaha Bakery pumpkin bar and it was delicious and he had the Purple yam jam which has a light flavor but also an oily residue. Just a 3 star ice cream day today.
THEY HAVE OUZO BLACK LICORICE ICE CREAM!!! It’s so hard to find black licorice ice cream and it did not disappoint. Smooth and full of flavor. This made my day.
Ted and Wally’s is a fun name serving up some darn good ice-cream. I thought it was premium but ultra-premium? It was good and it deserves a 5 star review. We stopped in after I took grandma to the park down the way. She loves to play on the jungle gym, fight with the kids and hide around corners when she goes potty in her diaper. She also works up an apatite for ice-cream so we were in luck. The place is super cool inside, fun to see how it’s made and the flavors are unique and fun. Super creamy ice-cream but not heavy, if that’s possible. Go get ya some and let them know granny sent ya.
I tried “Quit your job and eat chocolate” and “Brown sugar Espresso bean” ice cream which were 2 of the day’s flavors. They both were very creamy. The service is very professional and the staff who helped us is so knowledgeable about the flavors. She patiently explained to us about what they were. Thank you so much. Ice-cream lovers must try!
Ted & Wally's does not disappoint when it comes to flavor, quality, choice, and service. They had a sorbet and a vegan option, as well as at least a half dozen other ice cream flavors. This is the creamiest ice cream I have ever had....and, very rich. The small containers are packed tight and will be enough to satisfy your sweet tooth and tummy. This great experience comes at a cost, though, so be prepared to pay more than your average creamery. Is it worth it? It's something everyone should experience at least once. Will I go back? Most definitely.
Ice cream is different but delicious. Had a scoop of mexican vanilla, mint chocolate and reg chocolate. Definitely will come back when in town again.
You can't stop by the old market without stopping by Ted & Wally's. Perfect cute stop for photo sessions as well if you can can do so quickly and discretely without effecting the normal flow of customers.
Very good ice cream. I would say it's a little creamier and richer than your average kemps. They have many unique flavors that rotate. There was a lot of different kinds of chocolate, had a spicy one and few Easter themed ones.A few spots for parking. They allow free samples so can at least try some ones you wouldn't get. Price is on point for a tourist spot so a little higher than DQ but you are paying for the historical value. Fun spot to visit.
If you like ice cream, eat here. One more time for those in doubt- if you sorta, kinda, like or love iced cream, eat here! :D If for any reason you think I’m wrong and this isn’t some of the tastiest, creamiest, deliciousiest ice cream you’ve had, let me know in the comments. *I don’t think there’s a comments section I just hear that phrase a lot and thought I’d get on board with saying it.
Awesome original ice cream! I had a scoop of rach flavor reccomend by the girls working and loved both! One was sweet potatoes and marshmallows and the other was jack-o-lantern and chocolate (I think). Very very good and worth a stop!
