Our friend strongly recommended this place when we had our day trip to Omaha. You would think its a tiny place by looking from the outside. Its actually very pacious!! First comes into view is the bar. Also an area that display the history and story of the owner's family (i think). As you walk inside, there are 2 areas for dining. It's very nicely decorated. I got a fetteuccine afredo w shrimp! Its very delicious!!

First things first, food is top notch. I had lasagna and my wife had spaghetti with the brascioli. Both dishes were amazing. We had the house salad as well as the mozzarella sticks and a bottle of Pinot. All food was hot, fresh and most of all delicious. I think a total of four different servers stopped to check in on us during our meal. That was top notch service. I'm a little saddened to see some of these reviews with low marks, I don't think the can come close to the reality of the exceptional service and treatment we received this evening. Pictured is the lasagna prior to it being devoured. Thank you for an awesome date night and amazing meal. We can't wait to come back!

First time here and had an enjoyable time. The fried eggplant was spectacular, mozzarella sticks made in house are great, as was the housemade pasta. The red sauce, as other reviews stated was not great - very reminiscent of chef boyardee. The salad was way too saturated in dressing - which was way too peppered. The torte was spectacular, but the cannoli was fairly bland and unimpressive. Also, if you are hoping for gluten free options - even though the menu advertises them, we were informed by the waitress that the only things they had that were GF were "plain GF noodles, or a steak potato". Overall a good experience, but not "the best Italian " I've had in town.

Home made pasta... gigantic meatballs and a nice Italian ambiance. Great service. No frills just good food with generous servings.

Great restraint here in Omaha. I have been going here for years and have had never had a bad experience. The food it's amazing, I've tried so many different things there and have never been dissapointed. My favorites are the fried raviolis, spaghetti with meat balls, and chicken parmesan. The staff is really friendly and they're always playing good music as well.

We had a fun, family birthday celebration at Malara's. We enjoyed the food and atmosphere and running into friends there.

Sad I can only give this restaurant 5 starts because it definitely deserves 10. My boyfriend and I went for date night. We started off the cheese fried ravioli. It was fantastic! I got the spinach chicken tortellini with red sauce and a side of white sauce (I love mixing both sauces together). My boyfriend had their Saturday special, sausage tortellini with red sauce. Both entrées were absolutely phenomenal. The food was hot, had so much flavor and you can tell everything is homemade. On top of having a wonderful dinner, we also had excellent service. I don’t remember our waitresses name but she was one of the best waitresses we’ve ever had. She was so sweet, attentive, checked on us serval times and even boxed our leftovers. We ended the night with a piece of their homemade cheesecake. This was also amazing and a must have. 10/10. No other Italian places compare to Malaras. Malaras will always be one of my favorites. ❤️

Great authentic Italian 👌🏼 Everything pretty much made from scratch and you won't leave hungry! Still figuring out how 🤔 😳 bacon inside a beef meatball is not popular.

Great Italian food and I love the old school atmosphere. The fried egg plant and home made cheese cake were especially delicious. Their spaghetti sauce was out of this world good!

Not terribly busy for a Friday at 6:30. We do have difficulty with the parking here as my sister has a wheelchair equipped van. They always have a challenge with seating us with the chair and the entrance is barely accessible. The food was delivered quickly and the servers were pleasant and I do love that they have some unique items on the menu. However, my pasta was overcooked and there wasn't enough sauce on my meal. I know the restaurant business is difficult to staff these days but I felt the quality of the food has fallen from my previous visits.

A place like this is exactly where it should be. Off the beaten path and doing incredible dishes for years. No matter if you're visiting are passing through Omaha, you need to get off the path and find this place. I couldn't resist the homemade Mozzarella sticks which I will buy for anyone just to share. Then came the main course, I was torn between the Pasta and Brascioli or the Lasagna and my waitress Anna said don't worry I got you covered and what you see is the result. I would recommend saying it's your first time in and see what you get.

We had the fried ravioli and the lasagna. It was spectacular. The noodles were obviously homemade and the red sauce was excellent. Fair prices and friendly quick service for a busy Saturday night.

Just a hint of what awaits you at Malara's. This is a mozzarella cheese stick. Most restaurants use prefabricated Sam's club stuff. Malara's makes it homemade from their own homemade pasta. It is too die for and is highly addictive. My favorites are lasagna and ravioli. You must try this to understand delicious Italian food.

Nice little Italian restaurant that will provide with more food than you were expecting. The prices are fair for modern Italian, but the portions are large. I ordered a half plate of fired ravioli (which was pretty good because I didn't know what to expect and would order again), and I thought that they had to give me a full plate. Everyone at the table responded the same way to the food that they ordered. The meatballs are huge. My only complaint would be there are very limited options for a vegetarian or pescatarian. This isn't the restaurant's fault, and it something that I expect from most places. However, there were fewer options than most places have. If you're not a vegan, vegetarian, or pescatarian, then you have many options, and you should check it out. Be prepared to be very full or make room in your refrigerator for the leftovers. When you go there you may think that Google Maps is taking you to the wrong place, but it isn't. It really is located in a residential neighborhood which adds to the experience.

Food is pretty typical Midwestern Italian. Lasagna is the best in town and highly recommended. Location is buried in a neighborhood and looks like a house, but lots to see inside. Staff is always helpful even with large groups if you call ahead.

The food was good, and portion sizes were also excellent. Salad seemed drowned in dressing and was more mushy than crisp. Pasta and meatballs were OK, red sauce ok, white sauce tasted like paste and wife's meal that was supposed to be stuffed with chicken seemed to be missing the chicken. We would try again.

Wonderful place, wonderful food and wonderful people! I'm so sorry to see it close. Catarina is missed and may God hold all the Malara family in his hands and give them the strength they need. They are such a kind and loving family. I will miss eating here.
