Get over the smell. For years I have boycotted this place because I couldn't get past the smell of damp, blue cheese, and something else disgusting mixed in. Finally my husband dragged me in and we had a good meal. I've been told time and time again that it is fancy, which is definitely not the case. Just good food for a good price. The shrimp cocktail is pretty whimpy, but the grat prices on bottles of wine will make you forget about that!
Always Happy!. We've been here several times & always have good service & great food. My personal favorite is the raspberry salmon. Last time we had the buffalo wings as an app & they were very different & delicious (more like small pieces of flat steak than wings)! Patio is a must during the summer with awesome martinis!~

No complaints. This restaurant, once a chain of 3, but now just the original, has a nice atmosphere and an extensive, seafood focused menu. The lounge is a popular watering hole on weekends. We have always liked the food. Prices are moderate.
Outdoor dining is offered in nice weather.

Bring Your Appetite. I have been to this place several times and tried numerous dishes. I have yet to be disappointed in the food or the service at this place. The portions are huge for the price, and the flavor is amazing as well. They have a good variety of dishes, which are amazing. Don't let the tacky decor fool you. This place has food and service which make up for it.
The verdict was in. The reviewers and bloggers had been trashing Charlie's on the Lake for over a year now. They had written the place off. Left it for dead. It was obvious that I was going to have very low expectations going into this recent dining experience.
The food was great. Came out hot and fresh. We sat outside and the view is nice and relaxing by the lake. The service was just okay.
I rented the Lakeview Room for my wedding reception and it was phenomenal. Our server was great and even took some pictures of the group for us. The server and manager were both super helpful throughout the planning and the execution of the evening. The view of the lake is wonderful as well. I would absolutely have another event here in the future.
The food is very good. Five stars! But I took away one star because it's overpriced for what you get. Service was excellent. The drinks were well made. We had a great experience there.
Just discovered this place after 7 years in Omaha, and I'm sorry I didn't find it sooner. I have been twice now and lived it each time. It's a huge place with a big bar - perfect for game watching, large indoor dining area, and a large outdoor dining area. Food and service were great both times. Love the 2 lbs of mussels. It gets quite busy, so chose your dining times wisely.
My boyfriend is a professional chef (very VERY hard to impress) and he commented it was one of the best meals he has had all year. Still a great place. I have enjoyed going here over the years and will definitely keep going back.
Love sitting outside looking at the lake with the ducks walking around the patio. Large tables to accommodate our bday celebration. Good date night place if you want a romantic setting. Food and service was good.
There were 3 of us dining. 2 were very satisfied with their meals. Steak and chicken entrees. Fish was too heavily breaded would not order it again. Generally speaking it is a nice place for a quiet casual dinner.
We went there for the first time in literally over a decade. The hostess was nice, the waitress was doing her best but getting rocked. The patio is just gorgeous. I had the chicken parm and she had the lobster rolls (yes it came with two huge rolls filled with deliciousness). Seriously so much food and it was quick to come out and very good. It took a bit to get our bill but a small complaint to have to rush back to work after a nice experience.
Anniversary dinner with my wife! I had the T-bone special with a lobster tail and twice baked potato. The lobster tail was sweet and delicious! The fried ravioli appetizer was great as well
FANTASTIC!!! W had the best dinner experience here, and were very well taken care of by our amazing server, Joey!!! We ordered the Jackson chicken (blackened chicken Alfredo, DIVINE!!!) and the Prime Rib (au jus was perfect!!!) our food was phenomenal, came out perfectly paced, and was delicious! We had such a wonderful meal, and everything tasted perfect, from the potstickers and the salads, to the amazingly soft and perfectly baked bread that came with the meal. The flavors of everything were well seasoned, not too heavy and not bland, and the meats were expertly cooked, tender and moist. Everything about the meal was perfect, I only wish I had room for dessert!!!

What a great place to eat. The menu is huge but the good thing is that every item on there is high quality to a T. Great staff that were attentive and friendly--my water never got close to empty! The steak was incredible (pictured is the 7 oz filet with a topper of the bacon wrapped soy shrimp). But my favorite, the seafood-- WOW. My boyfriend got the blackened salmon alfredo and everything from the luxurious sauce to the beauticully seasoned and crispy piece of salmon was incredible. Lastly -- if you like tuna -- try the tuna sampler from the appetizer list. It will feed a table (our table of 6 had trouble finishing it without getting overstuffed for the entrees to come) and it is absolutely delicious. I liked mixing the wasabi crema and the sesame soy glaze with the tuna. Just... Wow. If you want a yummy as well as lovely experience, Charlie's on the Lake is the place to go. Thank you so much for the great evening!
PS - their cocktails are also super yummy, the Springtime Martini with cucumber vodka was out of this world in particular. And its neon green, which is always fun.
I love this place ❤️ every server is wonderful & Steve the owner is a class act ! I highly recommend this restaurant. Top of the line chef quality food ! The raw oysters & escargot is excellent !
FRIED RAVIOLI that is the bedt since Caniglias..and its not that "frozen brand" everyone else serves. Tender, flaky with a gorgeous filling.
Maryland crab dip to die for.
Clam chowder was perfect.
