Went here tonight after a concert with my wife. It was almost midnight so our options for food were limited. Decided to go here because there open late and we have not been to this location since the old building. Very clean and comfortable. Smells better than the old one thank god! My wife had the gyro plate. She loved the gyro. Everything else on the plate not so much. I had a double Kong burger with cheese. Pretty sure they use the same seasoning they put on there gyros. Not bad, but verry rich!
On Omaha landmark, King Kong has been serving up Greek style fast food cuisine for decades. They are open super late and are famous for their monster hamburgers and Greek gyros. I love their french fries which are smothered in a seasoning salt mix.
Can't beat the Sunday top sirloin special. It's just a sirloin, but it is usually pretty big, pretty flavorful, and pretty tender. Comes with delicious potatoes, rice, salad, and pita for 10 bucks. It's my Sunday ritual.
Best gyros and fries in town!
Great food but a bit pricey. This place has GREAT food, and plenty of it, but it is pricey for what you are getting. It's a good place to go when you are in a rut of the same old food, I would recomend this place to anyone!
The Mastication Proclamation
+4.5
Come with an appetite and cash. The burgers and steaks are awesome. A triple Kong burger will physically destroy your body, so stick to the single. I'm not sure if this place is a front for the Greek mob or money laundering...which is the only reason I can come up with for why they are all about the cash rather than the card. If the awesomely bad commercial isn't enough to draw you in, the burgers and steaks should be.
True to its name, King Kong gives you a lot of food at a great value. My very large gyro cost $5.99 and it was more than a regular lunch meal for me.
It's probably been over ten years since I last visited King Kong, and I don't have any particular reason for that other than I never lived nearby one for those ten years. But now I do live near one, and I've been twice in two weeks, and it seems irrespons
The food was hot and tasty, and you get a lot for the price. Service was quick too. Update 1 yr later. The double kong fries and a drink $27!the double Kong has a nice grill flavor and a significant amount of beef, but not $27 dollars worth.
It's a nice spot to grab some quick food.
Their portions are quite generous
We used to always get the steak because there was a special but they did raise the prices recently. It's still a decent deal but before it was really amazing.
The burgers can be massive and it's really a great Instagram/impress your friends with the incredulous amount you can eat.
They have their own parking lot for free easy parking
First time visiting...The gyro plate was top notch!
Price: Considering the amount of food, no issues.
Fast and fresh cooked food.
Friendly staff.
Ordered a side salad and side of fries along with their Sunday steak special (forgot to take a pic). Generous portions! The steak filled over half the plate.
Would highly recommend. If you want ‘cheap’ food, go to a fast food processed cesspool. If you want fresh cooked (at least what we ordered), then King Kong is the place.
Steak dinner all day sundays is a big deal! I eat it all and I’m so full they never disappoint and I’ve never had any issues. Paying with card is a double fee tho so pay cash to avoid that.
We wont ever go back, because the experience was enough, but the people are so super nice! Just know that you'll be cooking your food, in water, with herbs. Its like Asian Hot Pot. You can also order AYCE Sushi, but its 2 sashimi at a time and 2 roll and its super slow.
Its an awesome place, but we didn't realize what we were getting into, with boiling our food.
Everyone should have the experience and the quality was very, very good!
Plenty of inside seating. Free refill on fountain drinks. Simple menu with limited options. Three tvs inside too watch sports or cartoons. Clean interior with a condiments bar.
The food was good with adequate portions. Their seasoned fries are good as are the onion rings. The negatives are they go light on the Tzatziki sauce on the gyros which makes them a little dry. Also, the hot dogs are standard gas station weiners but instead of buns they put it on a gyro pita bread. And the only condiments are ketchup, mustard or mayo. No onions, relish or other toppings available. This place is good overall but definitely needs improvement.
Fish Plate or Fish Dinner was delicious. The salad was fresh and crisp. The fish had a bit of a chew but ultimately tasteful. The rice beans and potatoes were a good compliment. Price jeeps it from 5 stars.
Everything tasted great and the portions are huge. Spend 40$ for a single burger, two gyros a large fry and a drink but you could have fed four with the portion sizes.
The prices are extremely high, but the food is fresh & can last for 2 days which is kind of worth the price
The gyro was amazing and huge ‼️‼️ my friend had a burger that was bigger than my hand!
I will return when I get to Omaha!
Hoooo boy did the prices go up, but sometimes you need to splurge! Your friendly staff at King Kong always deliver when it comes to good meat, potatoes, and those beautifully crisp fries. Highly recommend the Double Kong or the steak dinner, they'll keep you full for the rest of the night, take it from a guy who professionally puts down burgers every other day.
