My Moms 100 year birthday celebration was there the staff was great the food was delicious, everyone in our party loved the food the atmosphere in the restaurant is good , we were all treated great !!!
The food was delicious and the service was great. The staff was very friendly and I will definitely good back for more
Good food and service. Decor is a of a “mom and pop” establishment, which only adds to its charm. We loved everything!
Awesome food and awesome service; there is a reason why they've been in business for so long. Thanks.

The food is Superb! Best restaurant in town, hands down!
Old school Cajun type restaurant. Frog legs, gumbo, fish & seafood. Pretty much all of your Cajun standards. Decent restaurant for all of your standards. And a nice, clean, comfortable environment though a bit dated.

Stopped here for lunch on our way from Marksville to Lafayette and enjoyed it thoroughly. I ordered the Pecan Brochette - tender pieces of filet tossed with fresh grilled pecans, served with sauteed mushrooms, salad, and choice of potato (I chose a stuffed baked potato). It was quite possibly the best lunch I've ever had, simply delicious. My wife ordered a combo platter that had fried shrimp, crab claws, shrimp Creole, gumbo, stuffed bell pepper, stuffed crab, and salad and she really liked it, too. I'll definitely be back!
This place is old school. Pork chops are served on Tuesdays. One fried and one grilled, both very flavorful. The stuffed potato was a little dry, so I'd suggest getting a plain baked potato and dressing it yourself.
Go to Soileau's!. I loved this place. I brought my family here a few days ago and things were perfect! There was a huge table in the back room and the floor was loaded, but our waitress was great and food didn't take too long. It took about 30 min, but that is expected. We never had to ask for refills and we LOVED the old feel of the place. I ordered the stuffed peppers, and they were great. The food comes in huge servings and has the home-made taste. Eat at Soileaus!
Magnificent. Based on a single lunch--- seafood gumbo ( remarkable) and possibly the finest "soup"item i have ever had in an american restaurant
--a crawfish bisque ( stuffed heads just like days gone by) i am amazed to see anything other than rave 5 star reviews. service was good enough--( this is after all an opelousas supper club with a $20 meal) and quite pleasant and accommodating. i can not imagine what anyone could ask of this restaurant beyond the quality of items we had. this meal was well worth a trip out from new orleans, or down from chicago. i believe ,as a fairly serious appreciator of louisiana food -this is a standout
Old school.... This is a place that the locals have grown up going to. Let me say this, this place isn't here to wine & dine you with an "experience" that bigger market places tend to lean on. This place is an old school GOOD restaurant. There seafood dishes are very good & reasonably priced. Their steaks are tasty & cooked well. They offer a great bacon wrapped hamburger steak. Their poboys are excellent-the seafood platter poboy is really a treat! They make their own salad dressings-1000 Island is excellent! Again, you won't be wowed but you will take a step back in time to how dining used to be. Oh a little known secret here is there fried chicken-the BEST you will ever eat!
To Go. Ordered food for our office to go, must say, it was great! We ordered poboy's, salads and seafood combo's. The food was enjoyed by all. Everything was so fresh and hot!
Taking the family to dine in this weekend!
Plenty of food. It was so hot and fresh. They definitely fry with fresh grease. The salad was fresh too! Crisp lettuce and firm tomatoes. Will definitely eat here again.
Most of the food was good, it just took to long to get it. Of course they tell you that on the menu. One party had lobster, which was over cook and could have had more taste. I had a seafood dish but there was to much batter on the crab fingers which took away the flavor from the crabmeat. The other dishes were satisfactory. The bathrooms were clean, you can see it from the hwy and it is handicapped accessible. It's also nice inside.
This place had *great food* and *excellent service* but on the flipside, the "Catfish Opelousas", in all it's glory, was underwhelming for the $24 you pay for it.
Another reviewer made the same observation about the tons of non de-veined shrimp they lay over one, yes one fillet of *mushy* baked catfish, that's advertised as *grilled* .
The Po Boys are the real treat, which is massive, served on buttered french bread.
It's a shame for such a historic fine dine in restaurant the casual food orders are better than the expensive specialty entrées.
I definitely recommend this establishment
Good food, good service, and good environment. Well priced for the amount of food you receive. My only complaint is the amount of time it took to get our food. It wasnt a long wait but it wasn't as fast as other places.
Stopped by for lunch, very welcomed by the staff, food service was punctual and delicious. It seemed to be a favorite of the high ranking locals of the area… which is always a good indication of what is good in the neighborhood.
Went for lunch with coworkers. As always, delicious! Soileau's has never disappointed. Any time of day, staff is always friendly, food is always fresh and they never rush you out!
