The food was absolutely delectable. I ordered the Jamaican Grill and there was a burst of flavor in every bite. The ambiance reminded me of being on the islands. It was tastefully decorated in an island theme with lots of colors. There was island music to complete the mood and some of my reggae favorites. The friendly staff with smiling faces checked on us frequently. Definitely worth a return visit if I'm ever in the area again.
Everything was absolutely fantastic, from appetizers to the very last bites!! Conch fritters were the best I've ever had l, including all up and down the Keys and the habanero chicken wings and shrimp po' boy was excellent, leven the pineapple infused coleslaw was terrific plus they got my fries nice and golden brown, just like I like 'em! Love this place!!
So this location is off the main road and on a dead end street but it is still only minutes from the beach and well worth taking the time to look for this place, I'm sure glad I did. There are several different Sassy Bass owned restaurants with different foods, including the donut shop that is really special, I am loving Island Grille location from the building to the people to the food, they have really got the hole island thing right. Lots of island fare that they have seasoned nicely with comfy inviting seating indoors and out.
The shrimp po' boy was loaded with a nice sized popcorn shrimp that tasted fresh off the boat and it sits atop a grilled/toasted Cuban bread that actually has a good flvor itself. The cocktail sauce isn't special but the tartar sauce is, not the ordinary sweet pickle relish in mayo but a real tartar sauce, this is important to me because I have been a tartar sauce person for as long as I can remember. Crab cakes are nor easy to get right but that do a very good job here with a nice balance of spice while letting the ample crab be the star. The crab sandwich on Cuban bread is very good and they're also offered in stand alone dinners. One of the specials tonight was chicken wings .50 cents (no minimum) and they have an assortment of sauces, I tried the mango habanero and yes they were really darn good, impressed. On another visit my honey got the oyster po' boy and not only was it delicious but it was enormous and on Cuban bread, she had to bring half home. Tje salad was also very good.
There's a decent size indoor bar that you can get all your favorite drinks, order ful meals at and a couple of nice size TV's as well. The staff I encountered were are very pleasant and professional and I was they made us feel welcomed and even though I was way too full for the banana pudding but I hear it's good .I posted pictures of the big menus so bottom line just pick something and go for it, everything that we've had has been very good. I give it 5 stars and a big recommend. Cheers!!
Helpful staff and family friendly. Ordered the Jamaican Grill. Deliciously flaky white fish topped with a mango salsa, accompanied by seasoned black beans and yellow rice, and a side of sweet plantains. My kiddo got the popcorn shrimp and ate all of it - and she doesn't normally eat shrimp 😂
Good service and amazing food! I had the grilled tuna steak med rare with a wasabi soy sauce drizzle and mixed vegetables. It was delicious!
The food is good as well as the atmosphere. Awesome view if you eat outside. The service was a little slow which was odd because there was only one other family there. Would still recommend.
Conch fritters we're so good!!! The island grilled favorite was also amazing
Very nice little restaurant. Came here for dinner. Would liked to have walked around the area during the day. A good excuse to come back. My BF and I shared the Rooster Sandwich and the Paradise Burger. Chicken sandwich was very salty. Burger was delicious. Fries were hot and crunchy and very tasty. Neither of us could finish our fries as the serving was big. Service will was good.
