We go for Brunch a few times per year. Love it. They have an excellent selection of foods and the bread pudding is to die for. Excellent freshly brewed coffee as well. After eating spend time outside viewing the wild animals. Great place

For those on the Disney Dining Plan, Boma is a must try. This themed buffet while overlooking the savana is amazing. For those that shy away from flavourful foods, this likely isn't your best choice, as the flavours from Africa are truly filled with dramatic flavours. Would we bring two kids under five to this restaurant if we were paying out of pocket? Likely not. A $200 meal wouldn't normally be in the cards for this family of four. But being on the Disney Dining Plan allowed us to try this unique Dining experience. It was a simple bus ride one afternoon from the park to then lodge and we booked for the opening of the restaurant to see there welcome show at 430 that was filled with drums and dancing. A must try for those in Disney Dining Plan.

Boma, Flavors of Africa is one of the more unique dining experience found in Walt Disney Globe. Despite having reservations, we had to await more than 15 minutes. it is realy perfect place for eating anything else.

We had sent a special dining request to Disney beforehand, requesting halal food. When we arrived at the restaurant, we asked to see the manager to inform him of this. Arrangements were made before-hand and the manager brought out the chef who personally gave us a tour of the buffet to show us what we couldn’t eat from a halal point of view.

There was plenty of vegetarian options we could eat from the buffet, including hummus, dips, soups, corn sauces with gravy, bread, mash and spinach and various desserts (including the banana chocolate pudding).

For mains, the restaurant had prepared a simple roasted chicken with salt and pepper. Simple yet tasty (for those who don’t mind chicken with the skin on). The chef also kindly sent out a huge platter of oven roasted salmon (again lightly seasoned) since the salmon in the buffet had a wine based reduction.

For service, this place was 5 stars. For food, there was mixed opinion amongst us due to some fussy eaters (kids and tweens) who would have preferred chicken without skin, some nuggets or chicken strips etc. Ah well, can’t please everyone! Me, personally, I thought the veggie buffet stuff was great and was stuffed enough on the mains provided. So am giving this place an overall 5 star since it’s my review!

Top tip: if you have a special dining request, be aware this is a buffet restaurant and hence your main dining options may be limited but the price of the buffet will not change ($40/adult and $22/kid + 18% gratuity).

Great breakfast this morning. They were very busy and we arrived about an hour and a half before our reservation. They got us in shortly after arriving. Our server Jennifer was friendly and gave us tips for the buffet. The selection is vast and the food delicious. Not one thing that I got was cold or terrible. It's very exciting to try some of the African inspired items. I think it may be acceptable to have juat the bread pudding for breakfast!

Unbelievably good food! One of the best buffets in Disney World. I couldn't recommend this place more! I went four years ago and it tasted just as good then as it does now! Zebra domes are little drops of heaven!

It's a little on the pricey side but it's worth it!

The photos attached are from dinner which ia deliscious and the zebra domes (not shown) are a killer dessert pffered atthis buffet! People can be hesitant to dine when they hear "African influence" but it is such a wonderful spread of flavors in this all you can eat buffet! As with any restaurant in Disney, if you have any sort of allergies, they will have the chef come out and walk the buffet with you going through what is suitable or not for your allergies. Breakfast is my personal favorite here, but no matter which you choose, plan for a nap after because you will be stuffed!

I loved the breakfast buffet here, I think it was the freshest out of all the places we went to. The kitchen was buzzing, things were cooking and sizzling.
There is an omelet station, a ham carving station, African inspired pastries as well as your more traditional breakfast fare.
They also offered Kenyan Coffee and "Jungle" juice (a nice blend of tropical flavours.)
Everything was super tasty!

Great food...and you know it has to be since it is Disney.  It is set up in a cafeteria type setting.  Large and roomy and plenty to look at and taste.   Like any good restaurant, there is a bit of a wait, especially when it is Disney.  But they have a African type band to entertain while you wait in a large plaza area.  Try the flavors of Africa.  Loved it.

It was okay. If we didn't have the free dining plan, probably wouldn't have ate there because it was $37.99/person. This place was not for a picky eater. It was good for something different. Zebra domes for dessert were good!

Gluten free YES. I was very pleased the chief helped me to pick out what was gluten free. There were MANY yummy choices. It was so to eat some where I had lots from to choose and to stuff myself. If you enjoy different flavors, good foods, and have any allergy, this was a great choice. All Disney prices are high...so if uncertain look at the buffet BEFORE you sit down. This is not a small picky child's restaurant. This is an adventure for a foodie.

A Foodies Paradise... not for the only cheeseburger loving type of tourists.. This is among my favorite retaurants in all of orlando, if not my favorite. First off... i'm from a family where we were always encouraged to try new things. Being an adventurous eater and trying new exotic dishes is lots of fun for me! I'm not talking about anything crazy like crickets or water buffalo or anything... just new spices and disnes prepared in another way I am accustomed to. The food is bright, colorful and very flavorfull. Its meant to be a cullinary tour of africa and there are a ton of new flavors and textures to explore and while I found most of it really delicious... the items I didn't love, I still found very entertaining. One of my new favorites is the Mealy Pap (like grits or polenta) with Chakalaka, a slightly sweet and spicy tomato stew, and also the curried chicken was delicious! They also had allot of fresh and delicious fruit and vegetable dishes like the watermelon rind salad and quinoa salad. And for everyone else you still have the staples of delicious carved roast beef, roasted chicken, mashed potatotes, beautiful desserts etc.

If you are a close minded tourist from Oatmeal, Nebraska with kids that you allow to only eat fried chicken nuggets and french fries every meal... then duh! You probably won't get a good value out of this. But, if you enjoy trying new things and are interested in sampling the flavors of Africa in a big open marketplace like setting then you will really enjoy it.

My family if 4 had dinner at Boma in May 2013. It was one if the best meals I have ever eaten. Food was fresh and fantastic. My daughter has Celiac, and this restaurant was extremely gluten free friendly, there were only a few things on the vast buffet that she couldn't eat. The head chef brought us through the buffet to ensure we knew what was safe. Both the food and the service were impeccable!

Fine but WAY overpriced. I understand Disney is expensive and food expectations should be tempered somewhat but $40/person and that goes for 10 year old children as well? It was a buffet and there were a lot of interesting dishes but I'd recommend you take your money elsewhere because it is no way near worth it. I have no problem dropping $200 on an incredible dinner for the family when we are on vacation but this experience left me seriously bummed after paying the check. Pass.

Something For Everyone. Boma is one of the best restaurants I have ever eaten at. The menu changes almost constantly, so each time you visit, you are trying new and enticing flavors of Africa. Don't be intimidated by the name though, there are plenty of foods that are "normal", if you will, for those who are too afraid to try a new flavor or new type of food. There is also the simple mac and cheese and pizza for the Little Foodies. The buffet style is great because you can try a little bit of everything and then indulge by going back for more of your favorites. If you are in the Disney area, Boma is a MUST!

One of my all time favorites!. In no way do I really think that this is common African cuisine, lol. But it is very well African themed both the restaurant/hotel and grounds. The food itself is very good. Their selection is varied but I would prefer more hot foods. In addition to the hot foods they have a large selection of salads, soups, and small desserts. They alternate their soups and a few other selections on a schedule. I especially love their carrot ginger soup and their banana butterscotch bread pudding. It is a great meal with a variety of different spices and a few uncommon items for the unadventurous eater. The price at 32-38 (varies with the season) includes non-alcoholic beverages and desserts. The food is good, the service is good, and the atmosphere is hard to beat. This restaurant is located in the Animal Kingdom Lodge so before and or after your meal you are free to stroll around and relax by the pool area, a large campfire area with rocking chairs, and a large fenced area overlooking the animal kingdom animal preserve where you can see all manner of African animals going about their business (at night in a certain spot there is a cast member with night vision you can use to see the animals after dark.) Overall a great experience that I especially love from late October to early March when the air is chilly to cold and the campfire's are a more welcome experience then in the sweat extracting heat of Central Florida's summer.

Must Do!. Let me go ahead and address this - the price (upwards of $40 a person) may not be geared toward a middle class family, nor is it geared to any family who is used to the only buffet in town being a Chinese/American MSG heat lamp party for $6.99. But as with almost every restaurant at the Walt Disney World Resort, you get what you pay for. It's fun, it's welcoming, it's bright, it's a little weird, and it's delicious. What more could you ask of a restaurant located in a hotel that has giraffe and wildebeest roaming just feet from its balconies? The service is impeccable (usually provided by a native of Africa, who can explain the foods you are trying and share stories of their own), and when you combine that with the offerings at the buffet, it makes for an unforgettable dining experience. The buffet is set up in pods, each with a different category of food, and each with plates or bowls nearby. The open kitchen is directly behind the row of pods, and the chefs are always available to answer any questions you could have. The setup and atmosphere makes you feel welcome, and encourages experimentation. My advice to first-timers would be to sample anything that looks interesting or different, and then go back for what you liked. The highlight of my meal is always the dessert - and I have one bit of advice in that regard: You MUST try the Zebra Domes.

Birthday Dinner. Our extend family was in WDW to celebrate my wife's (one of the decades) birthday. We have always wanted to try Boma, having heard great things about it, and we were not disappointed.

The service was wonderful, great attention for a table of 13, and for some of the kids in the group with food allergies, the chef came to our table to discuss exactly what choices were available. They even brought some specially prepared deserts for the kids with the allergies.

The food was varied, interesting and delicious. I tried small samples of everything and then returned for more of the items I really enjoyed. Fantastic experience and worth the price.

Here is some direct info on the menu at Boma. I think its odd that a self proclaimed "chef" could possibly compare Boma to Golden Corral here? I guess he DID disclose that he must be crazy.
SERIOUSLY? Boma is a GREAT experience! Here's the menu. You decide for yourself if it has anything in common with Golden C (perhaps aside from the fact they both offer drinking water..? Cant remember the last time I saw a wood burning grill or anything else on a GC menu. As for the noise....its a BUFFET! Piped in jungle noise to boot! Enough already! Here it is...

There is lots for everyone to enjoy. The decor and atmosphere are great! Very Good Buffet. Our final night in Orlando finds us in Boma, and it was a nice culinary end to our trip. It's a buffet, but a very varied and well-executed one. I had a taste of the Mulligatawny soup, mushroom soup, and the seafood gumbo. All were very good.

I also tried some of the roast strip loin. It was a perfect rare to med-rare and seasoned nicely. There were a number of different sauces to try with it, some African influenced and some not. I had a chicken dish that had an interesting mix of herbs and spices that I thought was very good.

There was also a large salad bar. I tried a bean salad and a curried pasta salad that were good. There were a number of other salads and sides to choose from. All the things I tried were good, so if I am in the area again, this is certainly a place I would consider returning to.

Food: 3.25
Service: 3
Atmosphere: 3.75

Variety, variety, variety!. There's few Disney buffets that beat Boma in terms of variety, flavor, and presentation. Everything curry at Boma is guaranteed delicious, and they're housemade soups pack some surprising flavor! Creamy carrots, cucumber, African-inspired stews - there is something there for everyone. Plus, a carving station is available for the truly carnivorous, and the vegetarian options are as spicy and herbful as their meaty counterparts. Boma's dessert presentation is lovely with a nice spread of Boma is now on my list of guaranteed delicious African-inspired cuisine in Orlando.

Great Selection and Service. I'm admittedly a buffet snob. This place is incredible. I've been for breakfast and for dinner, both are wonderful. The selection is really nice. Their salads are very unique, much like many of the other items which you won't find at many other places. The watermelon rind salad is always a favorite. As is the carrot and ginger soup. Their carved meats are spiced well and the condiments like their mustard are great accompaniments. I always get the jungle juice to drink. Their service is great. Just like the rest of Disney, they're also very accommodating for any allergies. Try this spot if you want a meal that's a little international and different. There's always the kid options to fall back on (usually mac n cheese, chicken nuggets, etc).

Interesting. My family raved about this restaurant so I was interested to try it- especially since I've never had traditional African cuisine. I felt that the service was excellent (as always, Disney) but the food was ok. Lots of different ingredients here that I wasn't familiar with. I wasn't particularly blown away, but I didn't feel it was bad either. I would go again.

Yet another winner for Disney who is committed to a quality overall experience in all they do. The soups are phenomenal! Must try. Try them all! Very good meats, salads (watermelon rind salad was good) and other sides. But you must save room for dessert. The zebra domes, mousse, bread pudding, etc. were fantastic. The key strategy here is to get small portions and try everything.

Top 5 in Disney. I say top 5, and probably would put it in the top 3. Boma is a given every time I go Disnayward. The selection is wide, and every item is worth a nibble if not a plate's worth. The atmosphere is among the best, and since it is in a resort and not a park it is usually easier to get into, stays open later, and is less noisy than other disney options. I highly recommend it.

Boma, Disney's Best. OK, so California Grill gets all the praise, but try this place. If you are adventurous, you will be thrilled...and by God, it's a damn buffet! All bets are off, the appetizers, soups, salads are better than the entrees. but save room for the desserts! Zebra domes, bread puddings, and little tasty nibbles will make you drool. The hummus (or hummi? plural of hummus?) is worth a taste, and the curry salad is great as well. Don't eat all day, save your room and scarf yourself into oblivion.....my birthday choice!

LOVE IT!. Heck yeah! This place is one of my favorite restaurants in Orlando! Everything on their buffet is delicious and super fresh. It's a bit of a drive for us (35-40 mins) so we try to make it for special occasions.

The place is beautiful and the staff goes out of their way to please you and make sure you are taken care of. It's a Disney restaurant after all.

My favorite items were the BBQ ribs, the salmon, the roasted chicken, but above all their butternut squash soup! This soup is to die for, and it should actually be considered a dessert of how sweet it is! The soup is not on their every day buffet menu, but if you ask your waiter they will bring you some... this made me feel special ;)

It is a bit pricey $28 pp, but to us it is well worth it since we know that we will be treated right and the food is just out of this world! Some of the items in the menu are a bit exotic, but hey why not try something different once in a while?

Parking is free, just tell the gate officer that you are dinning at the restaurant and they will let you in (since the restaurant is inside of the Animal Kingdom Resort)

OK, enough... give this place a try! I recommend it!

One of the Best Buffets in WDW. Boma is a place I take every out of town guest when they come and visit me and each time we have a very pleasant dining experience. I would not really say it is African cuisine however. Jiko is African cuisine, but I think Boma uses more African infused flavors, if anything is African about it at all. The buffet is extensive and the servers are always amiable, pleasant, and efficient. I find the items on the buffet to be deliciously prepared, especially for a buffet of this size.

The one thing that frustrates me to no end about this place is the following: I will call Disney dining to make a reservation and they do not give you many time choices, making it seem as though the restaurant is fully booked or near capacity. We usually have to select a time that is not very convenient for us. However, everytime we show up, it is not as busy as the agents on the phone make it appear to be. I never understood this.

I continue to go back to Boma because it is a unique dining experience with a very cool atmosphere. Disney's Animal Kingdom Lodge is breathtaking and the food is pretty good too!

Good buffet, gotta try the zebra domes. This African themed buffet was quite good and although the selections were mostly North African flavored without being authentic in any way they were well made and quite good. I would have enjoyed some East and South African flavors but they don't tend to be as tourist friendly.

The Coconut/Curry Seafood soup was very nice and the desserts were great, the Zebra Domes are highly addictive and must be tried.

Don't Be Afraid To Try It. Boma is a buffet at the Animal Kindom Lodge - it has a large variety of food including "safer" food and authentic African food. I think it's a shame when people don't go here because they are afraid to try the food - even the exotic food is pretty neutral in my opinion. This is not the typical buffet - there are lots of different things to try, the stations usually don't have lines, and Boma stocks the 50+ item buffet at a great pace.

The restaurant is always packed, now that Disney has expanded their dining program, it's nearly impossible for a local to get in. I still try every time I make a reservation in that area when friends are in town, but I have not been able to get in for months.

I usually don't recommend restaurants at Disney but Boma is the exception. The butternut squash soup is like drinking liquid pumkin pie. The service is always great. The only disappointment is the dessert collection. Go breakfast or dinner. Go to dinner if you want more of the african flavors.

Breakfast Buffet. We choose Boma for breakfast because I had already tried the dinner and the kids thought the breakfast selection sounded like fun.
One son was eager to try all the foods he never heard of. My husband loved the sausage gravy and other African dishes. The fruit selection was immense. I was a big fan of the chocolate croissant they offered, which was different from what is offered in the parks.
The server we had was very friendly and attentive, we never sat without a drink, he kept everything full. There is a wonderful atmosphere here and it was a great start to our day.

Sit back and relax as you enjoy appetizing food and a festive atmosphere at Boma – Flavors of Africa located at Disney’s Kingdom Lodge. The restaurant features an all you can eat buffet, which includes a vast array of meats, unique soups and salads, hummus, plenty of sides and decadent desserts. As you take your seat at the large table the server welcomes you in Swahili, which is ‘Jambo!” Since this is a buffet style restaurant the server takes drink orders and lets you know what foods he/she recommends. After filling everyone in about what to prepare for, you are on your own for the rest of the evening…with an occasional check up from your server. Disney always provides premier guest service. When I visited I tried everything Boma had to offer. Some of the delicacies I will praise. Other items on the buffet I will not.  I am a soup fanatic, so I had to try the four soups of the day first. The four soups that I tried were the Coconut Chicken Curry, Lentils and Sausage, Carrot Ginger an

Boma is an African themed restaurant located at Disney’s Animal Kingdom Lodge. They have a breakfast and a dinner buffet with plenty of different dishes made with an African influence (and some Americanized items for boring people). The inside of this restaurant is really fun and nice and it is supposed to resemble a colourful African market place. My family came here for breakfast, which is actually a pretty good value compared to many other restaurants around the property. The buffet was large and I didn’t have enough stomach room to try everything, so I am just reviewing my favourite dishes that I would recommend trying. They have a special juice here that comes with the meal that is made with a mix of passionfruit, orange, and guava juice. This juice is also really popular in Hawaii and is commonly called POG. The juice was refreshing, tropical, and sweet. The tropical flavours went well with the meal. I originally just took a small portion of the spinach, tomato, and feta scramble

At $32.99 for adults and $15.99 for children, it is among the more expensive Disney buffets, but on the Dining Plan it is a great value!

Best Breakfast at Disney. So many vegan and gluten free options. They even made me a gluten free Mickey waffle! The wood fire tomatoes and African breakfast dishes were so good that I couldn’t stop eating them. Even the plant based sushi was AMAZING. They greet you with such kindness and excellence. The vibe was perfect. Our 4 year old had plenty to eat and do. You also get free juice and can get a coffee Togo. We were able to walk around the resort after and see giraffe, wild animals and so many other cool things! We even went to the pool where they had a water slide and hot tub.

A wonderfully African inspired buffet inside Animal Kingdom Lodge. Not a large buffet but everything tasted wonderful. Oxtail soup, sliced strip loin cooked to a perfect medium rare, coconut rice and salmon were a few but definitely not all the highlights. Sodas and juices are included. Service and the food live up to the disney name. You won't be disappointed! Reservations are needed in order to get past the security check point to enter the Animal Kingdom resort.

Boma Flavors of Africa was a wonderful culinary experience. Not only were the food options excellently prepared, but it was also fantastically themed and had excellent service as well.

Absolutely amazing 👏. Great coffee and breakfast! The buffett is one of the most diverse at Disney. Lots to choose from! I highly recommend. The coffee is amazing too! 👏

Overall it was decent. The dessert stations are definitely the highlight. The meat station (particularly the steak) was also pretty good. The atmosphere isn't particularly special and the service was acceptable. I don't feel like I have to go back, but that isn't to say I wouldn't. Update: We had the opportunity to have breakfast here and it was also pretty good. A decent variety of options, but like dinner it is a little pricey. For breakfast it did seem busier and the lines for the buffet were rather long. I'm not sure if this is always the case with breakfast, but a potential warning if you're expecting this to be a quick breakfast to start your day. Also, they used to offer Zebra Domes with breakfast, but they are dinner only now. It wasn't a big deal to us, but we overheard other disappointed guests.

Delicious! This has been one of our favorite buffets in all of Disney. It has never disappointed. Ribs were moist and well cooked. The soups were yummy and all very unique. Then the small bite desserts are just wonderful and the exact amount I want after the rest of the meal. Will definitely be back.

We really love this place and the food, the best breakfast ever… the bread or pumpkin pudding is super good and the pecan roll is delicious, you never go wrong in this place… and of course you need to try the jungle juice

We have always gone for breakfast and are never disappointed. A great Buffett with a carving station, African inspired breakfast dishes, and Disney classics (Mickey waffles!), breakfast potato’s. They have some fruit, baked goods and warm pastries.

If you can only make it to one Disney buffet, this is it! Hands down, Boma is the best buffet Disney has to offer. We loved everything from their unique stews to their avocado grapefruit salad. Before or after your meal, you can watch giraffes hanging around the back of the resort.
