Went to Maxine’s after seeing great reviews including the Michelin Bib Gourmand rating and was blown away! Our server was kind, the cocktails were original and strong, and all of the food was incredible. We were celebrating our wedding anniversary and when one of the Owners found out, he brought us complimentary champagne and even gave us a toast (one that rhymed!). We look forward to making our way through the rest of Maxine’s menu and many more date nights here :) Thank you to everybody for making our night special.

Great food and good drinks, but the service was slow. We didn't see our server until 15min after we sat down despite making a reservation. However, the restaurant owners were very friendly and apologetic after they found out. Prices are reasonable for the quality. They were even generous with the lobster on my lobster eggs benedict. I'd come back to try their dinner menu sometime.

We went to Maxine’s for the first time last night. What an experience! First, the decor is quirky and fun. The vibe was casual and relaxed. “Mr. Maxine” came around and was super welcoming. The service was perfect and the food was outstanding! We ate the appetizers before taking photos. I got the beet and arugula salad and my fiancé got the chorizo. We loved them and ate every morsel! The wine selection included some unique wines which were fun to try. One was a red sweet Italian wine that was served chilled. I loved it! For dinner, I got the lobster ravioli which had scallops and shrimp and my fiancé got the trout. The flavors were perfectly delicious! But the star of the night were the desserts. I got the caramel cheesecake which was the best cheesecake I’ve ever had! And my fiancé got the key lime pie which he loved too. We can’t wait to go back!

Been meaning to write this review for a while now. We went to Maxine’s on Shine during Bite30 (I think it was last year) and we sat at the bar where one of the owners waited on us. Food was incredible, the food and drink pairing was spot on and the conversation was great. Highly recommend.

Fun! The throwback decor was just the beginning. I arrived solo, which is usually not advisable because this place is jumpin' and reservations are the norm. But I got seated immediately! The service was fast, knowledgeable, and very attentive. Several people approached my table aside from the server, to ensure everything was grea.....And it was!!!! Great atmosphere and absolutely delicious food! I will be back (with a reservation) for dinner!! Nothing was off! Food, service, atmosphere, and pride of ownership all came forward to shine! (See what I did there!) Put this place on your list! Priced right as well.

Such a cute local spot. For brunch I had the brie and shrimp salmon and my husband had the chicken and biscuit bowl. They had a seasonal pumpkin creme brulee and we had pumpkin mimosas. We also had yummy crab cakes but I've had better fried green tomatoes in the southern states. I did like how thick they were sliced though. Overall, great spot, hope we can return soon!

I really wanted to LOVE this place, it comes highly recommended from people I respect a lot. Firstly, parking was a nightmare. There is no lot and no where in a 3-block (residential) area to park. Ended up having to park in front of a random persons home which I felt a little weird about. If I based my entire review just on service, it would be 5 stars. Our first mistake was sitting outside. We are both born and raised here so the heat doesn’t bother us too much but the sun was positioned directly in my eyes with no reprieve, obviously not their fault. But the smell of the dumpsters was so overwhelming, I still feel sick thinking about it. There were flies buzzing around us constantly, not the best atmosphere for eating. We did the “bite 30” meals, I think that may have been mistake number two. It’s not something they offer all the time. I really wish we would have just ordered from the regular menu but we were feeling adventurous. The appetizers were out of this world GOOOOODD, especially the brisket croquettes. The main course was the only real issue. The chicken was really dry and bland. Heard the table next to us also commenting on this. :( The steak medallions were great, the sauce was the best part but there was barely any of it. Desserts were excellent! I can’t say enough about the service though, I would drive an hour to give this place another shot just because the people were so kind and helpful. We didn’t get the opportunity to speak with Maxine but she was walking around and talking to each table. We left feeling disappointed but could tell that a lot of care and love went into this place so don’t want to be too harsh

Visited in November 2023 for dinner. Experience was fabulous overall. Drinks were solid, I had a couple sangria, and my wife had a variations a Moscow Mule. Food, we had an Argentinian Chorizo appetizer (that came out after our dinners), that was very tasty. Wife had a trout dish with asparagus, she said it was VERY good. I had the lasagna, and i exaggerate NOT when I say it was the BEST lasagna I have ever had in my life!! It was rather moderately priced too, added bonus. Restaurant is in a quiet residential area, lo-key unique surroundings. We actually could walk to restaurant from where we stayed, but it didn’t look like parking would be difficult. Dessert was a very unique looking and tasting pumpkin crème brule. Wife really liked it, I was a bit ambivalent towards it. Also, someone on staff has a good music ear because they play some solid music while you dine. My wife is gluten free, and while they did have a couple of options on the menu, it would have been nice to see more. Would definitely recommend this restaurant to anyone.

First visit this morning for late breakfast and we loved Maxine’s from the moment we walked in. We were a party of 5 and our server was wonderful. We ordered a Fried Green Tomato Benedict and also Chicken & Waffles ($18). The Chicken and Waffles has scrambled eggs on the side and a light sausage gravy over the Chicken & Waffles. This was the best Chicken and Waffles I’ve ever experienced and the sausage gravy was light and soooo flavorful. Even the scrambled eggs were tasty and more flavorful than I’ve ever experienced at any restaurant. The Fried Green Tomato Benedict was ok but we probable should have ordered the Lobster Benedict. We also ordered an Irish coffee and four mimosas (orange, grapefruit, pumpkin and cranberry. All of the drinks were pretty strong and tasty. We highly recommend this really charming and tasty restaurant…..we almost went back for dinner today…we will be back for another visit soon.

I’m not one to post pictures of food, or reviews of businesses, but as a small business owner I’m well aware that customers are more likely to post when they’ve had what they perceive as a bad experience than a good one. I read a bad review that Maxine’s recently had, so I thought this was a good time to post our experience there. There are so many franchise/commercial restaurants (as well as gyms) that I want to support fellow small businesses when I can. . Trinity and I recently tried Magical Dining for the first time. Magical Dining is where you pay one flat rate for three courses. The first restaurant we went to was Maxine’s on Shine upon my friend @Nick’s recommendation. We had heard that some restaurants don’t seem to appreciate the Magical Dining customers, but Maxine’s welcomed us with open arms. . Maxine’s is located in a downtown neighborhood (on Shine as the name indicates). Maxine’s has a fun, comfortable environment. The décor, staff and especially all of the food was amazing. To be honest, I almost didn’t want to post about how good it was because I didn’t want to let people in on it and have it overrun. . I decided to be fancy and have the caviar and chips as an appetizer. It was a perfect combination of savory with crunch complimented by the crème fraiche. Trinity had the mushroom and brie soup. I’m not sure how often she eats mushroom and brie soup, but she said this was one of the best versions she’s ever had. . For dinner I had the Chef’s Special Trout “Gravlax.” Trinity and I had just watched “Live to 100” on Netflix where one of the superfoods that many of the centenarian communities ate was purple yams. Guess what the trout came with? That’s right, purple yams. Not only are they a super food, they were super tasty. I’m not sure what they put in them, but the combination of them with the trout and tarragon sauce was phenomenal. Trinity had the Chef’s stuffed mushroom and shrimp special which was amazing as well. . Lastly, for dessert I had the Tiramisu as well as an Orange/Agave Liqueur. The Liqueur opened up my sinuses allowing for me to get the full taste of the decadent Tiramisu. . Maxine’s is one of the best, if not the best, restaurant I’ve ever been to. We went back again before Magical Dining ended and will be back again sometime soon. I didn’t get pictures of all of the food, since I hadn’t planned to do this to begin with. I’ll be posting our experience on Yelp and Google as well. . If you haven’t checked Maxine’s out, I highly recommend you do.
