The legendary drive through from the movies, last I saw it in Kingsman 2 , food and milkshake jolted life back in to me after the tiring walk and exploration
Had Chicken Burger, Cheesy Fries and a Soda. After a long day of non-stop walking, sight-seeing and to think that this is the first meal of my day, wow!
The burgers were alright. Pretty dry and plain but they were good. The fries was absolutely my fave part of the meal just because of the swimming nacho cheese all over, so good!
I got the meal for $15 which I thought was quite steep but then again, we're in Universal, duh? Lol. So expect high price.
Authentic 70s themed diner with great decor and ambiance. Located on Universal Studios it a busy establishment. But the staff are friendly and fast. The burgers had flavour and were substantial in size and everything you could ask for. I loved their thick shake and chilli cheese fries. It was a convenient feed.
For theme park fas food, not bad. Get the onion rings. Great atmosphere and music. Wish I was back in that era.
Where were you in ’62? This local hot spot is pulled from the silver screen legend American Graffiti and serves up classic burger joint chow with jukeboxes at each table (and sometimes an entire rock ‘n roll band playing outside).
Decent sandwiches and French fries. A little pricey, but not bad given that you’re at Universal. I got the Vegetarian chicken avocado and it was pretty good. Unfortunately, it is very crowded and confusing to order with the app. Eventually our food did come though after about 30 minutes. Overall the crowd and the time delay made it less enjoyable than it could have been otherwise. But everywhere else in the park would have the same problem.
The burger was great! There didn't seem to be a lot of options to choose from. They are really busy, so think of everything you need before you get to the counter because you probably won't get to ask them anything else after that.
A good spot for an easy and quick meal. The fare there is simple including burgers, fries and milkshakes. The food there tastes pretty good and the building is centrally located within the park and is based of a 80’s diner. Building looks especially beautiful at night with the neon lights on.
A Vintage movie scene 🎥 🥤. As you come in is like stepping on the 80’s! The staff on vintage uniforms, everyone working nicely, efficiently. Every corner is clean, and the menu is assorted (very good chocolate smoothie). I would not let Universal without experiencing Mel’s Drive-In 😊
Great quick service theme park food, burger was spot on as were chicken tenders, bbq sauce is really good... would recommend using mobile order, much quicker... theming inside is great and real life classic American cars used in movies make a good attraction
Pretty decent grilled chicken sandwich. We were lucky and sat down just before the lunch crowd hit. It's pretty smooth operating but does get bottleneck crowding. Sorry I didn't get more pictures.
I would have given this review a 4/5 but my insanely picky husband was so adamant about how great his grilled chicken sandwich was, I'll give it full stars! Haha! We got the Chicken Tender combo and the Grilled Chicken Sandwich platter. The food is definitely pretty good, but it's very expensive. Our meal cost about 40 bucks for the 2 of us. My husband claims his chicken sandwich is the best chicken he's had in Florida (including at Disney) our entire stay. I enjoyed the chicken fingers as well and the onion rings were nice and big! I just wished there were more. We also got a shake. Be warned that the swirl option is not what it seems. The workers only have chocolate and vanilla options so they have to manually "swirl" it by going back and forth. Another tip. If you mobile order, don't wait around like we did. It's not the same as Disney - you have to check in with a worker so they can take your ticket to the kitchen. We didn't quite realize that and sat around for quite awhile. Haha! But we're pretty happy with everything! Definitely worth a stop. :)
Super good food. We had the shakes, bacon cheeseburger, and chicken tenders. They were all warm and delicious.
I took away 1 star just because the pick up system is weird. You stand in a group in your “line”. Your drinks come first and then a while later your food. So you are standing awkwardly in their crowd holding your drinks waiting for your food.
More and more people come to the front for their drinks so you get pushed back. Then your food comes up and you have to push back to the front.
We got caught in the rain waiting for fireworks so we decided to come here and get dinner as well.
The burgers were actually quite good and I loved the decor and vibe!
The food is okay but the atmosphere is amazing. I would stop by here again if I came back another day. The cars outside are really neat and super vintage. Take a quick stop by and enjoy the scenery.
Can't say enough about this place.
This is top 5 food places @Universal in Fl.
They offer burgera, chicken and yum yum salads!! to name a few, they also have a wonder staff headed by Danny who absolutely stepped up to help me and my family out with a lost order.
I strongly recommend that Universal Management understand what an excellent employee you have here.
Honestly if you are visiting stop in Mel's Dinner grab a shake and ask for Danny - nicest guy.
