Review The Peppertree - Oskaloosa

Delicious food, reasonable prices and the place was super easy to find. Some of the portions for appetizers and meals seemed a bit off, but that's just my opinion. Overall a really good meal and looking forward to going back.

Service was great, but the food was not good. The Captains platter was over cooked and greasy. My wife's steak was okay but cool. They need to find someone that can cook. Will not ever go to this place again! Go downtown to Tasos.

We ordered a homestyle meal to go tonight. I placed my order online and it was ready when I arrived. It was delicious with nice portions. We had Asiago chicken (very good), salad, vegetable, potato, bread and dessert! We ate at home. The price was reasonable and I would recommend it. My only slight dissatisfaction was that our cherry cheesecake was frozen. Had I realized that I would have set it out so it was ready when we wanted it. Still tasted good.

First time visit. Nice menu with a verity of options. Environment was nice. Plenty of seating and they can accommodate very large groups. Steak was perfectly cooked with a nice cut of meat. Baked potato was hot and a nice size. It is nice to find another spot to take the wife on a date not too far from home. Worth the easy drive.

I don’t like to leave negative reviews. I will only say I ordered a full slab of barbecue ribs. If I would have know ahead of time they were just boiled and covered in whatever sauce they stock, I would have taken a pass or tried something else. Two of us ate and neither us were impressed or would choose to go back. Especially at 15-20 dollars a plate!

Good choices on menu. Great Bloody Mary. Sister had filet mignon that was way better than my ribeye. Good side salads. Lots of wait staff so ample coverage but some are rookies. We try to sit in section being covered by an experienced waitress if possible. They always have good suggestions on what to order.

Way overpriced for the unflavored food I ordered!! Called in an order for pick up and when it was time it wasnt ready. Waited around for 20mins to get the food and it wasnt correct so i had to wait another 10 mins for them to correct it. Got home to dig in and the food was so unflavored and sloppy. It i wanted that low quality of food and bad service I would've gone to McDs and spent what the price of that order was worth!

Love the Peppertree! A truly nice and fine restaurant with a delicious menu full of yummy local gourmet specialties! The service is excellent and a praise to our gentle and kind waitresses Lisa and Karina!!! We're looking forward to having another wonderful dinner there!

Rented the ball room for our wedding reception. Cost was the best in the area and the everyone we worked with was super helpful and pleasant. Steve and Megan were able to answer any questions I had and help me make the best decisions for my event. The food was on point! Every single guest was amazed at how good the food was. Wanda was our main server and she was very attentive to the entire room. We had guests come and go at different times and no one missed a drink or food. I would recommend them for any occasion!

First of all I wish I remembered our server's name. She was absolutely fantastic! Probably the best service I have experienced there. We had a birthday gathering with a table of 7. The food was very good and abundant. I must say..we go frequently enough that it would be nice to add a seasonal or monthly special dessert to change it up.

Last 2-3 times my family has been there for a meal, the waitress' were not very attentive, acted like it was a pain in the butt to take our order but we had to ask for more water, tea or coffee every time, never offered a refill. Ask for steak sauce, crackers for soup, well food was about gone by the time they came back. Yet they dang sure expect a tip at the end of the evening. Bad Service you get tipped according to how you treat me.

They have the best wings! I go during their daily happy hour and the price and quality of their food is excellent. If you love wings, you have to try these. They're loaded with chicken!

Love it Love it. One of the best filet mignon steaks I've ever had. And if you can cook a well done steak and have it be tender, you are one awesome cook.

If you open at 5pm then you should take orders at 5pm. I called at 6 and they told me I could not order for another half hour because they are not taking "take out" orders yet. Sounds like they did not want any business. Eating somewhere else.

I have never tasted such a good filet mignon! Cooked perfectly with amazing flavor! I wish I had their seasoning! Overall The Peppertree has great food and a great atmosphere for any occasion!!!! We will definitely be going back!

Went last night for my birthday dinner. Erin was exceptional with service and always very pleasant. Brought us extra honey mustard dressing and more butter promptly as well as more bread and horseradish sauce for hubby. It was fairly busy but she was always checking to see what we needed. The big kicker was when she brought the dessert tray and the lemon cake wasn't on it. So sad and my husband explained it was my birthday and I picked The Peppertree just so I could have that cake. She ran back to check the freezer, found the cake and cut us both a frozen piece to take home. Awesome service Erin!

Very disappointed in the manager's service. Never took our name down then seated 3 other parties before us. He has always been very rude every time we have come.

Tis a sad day for all Peppertree fans. We knew it was coming. Your Superstar General Manager, Mr. Sam Looney, is working his last day. Thanks, Sam! See you down the road.

Love that place

on a good note-my wife had the Bourbon Salmon and was quite good. on bad note- DO NOT GET THE RIBEYE!! Mine was not seasoned well, if at all, and had a "rotted meat" taste to it. I have never had such a aweful $20 steak. We will not be back
