Review Hy-vee - Oskaloosa

The store itself is great. Great employees. Super nice and always helpful. The bakery is great, love the meat counter, and have always enjoyed the floral department. The deli however is a different story. I don't like fast food so when we are short on time I try to go to the deli for something remotely close to homemade and it is consistently terrible. Just today my husband grabbed some mashed potatoes and white gravy. It tastes like some kind of chemical is in it. It's terrible. I ordered Chinese a week ago and the rice was so dry it wasn't even edible. A couple of months ago I ordered a omelette and it came burnt. So burnt that I couldn't even cut it with a knife. Who would serve something like that? After today I'm done. I will not try again. There seems to be zero interest in serving good quality food and I will not eat there anymore.

At noon, the oriental deli foods were near empty and what food there was appeared dried out and over done. They may have been understaffed, but disappointed hoping for an awesome lunch and find that.

We stopped in for flowers for my Aunt's birthday. We were very impressed with the quality and price. The gal in the floral shop was super friendly. Thank you for having what we needed at a great price and wonderful customer service!

Just used drive up for the pharmacy. They are super friendly and especially Heather and the ones who deliver my meds to my house!!!

Usually like but today sale items not available. All ice cream freezers empty and most of self checkout registers not in service.

It's nice, actual cashiers at the registers . If it's obvious you're new to the area, staff going through ask if they can help you find something . Unfortunately , some things, everyone is out of

Doesn't have as many options as Walmart, but they make it up with the specialty items. They offer a nice variety of some local vendors. I usually will shop here if I don't need anything other then groceries. As I mentioned they don't carry much other then food products. They do have a few cashiers on hand and have been adding in some self checkouts if you don't want to interact with a cashier. Overall, it is an excellent grocery store. They offer a variety of fresh produce and other food products. They even have a restaurant in store that does catering as well as serving food in store.

When I catch Hy-vee sales I can beat walmart prices,and alot better service from their salespeople. Thanks 👍 eggs bread and milk getting too high for fixed income folks and coffee
