Ordered the New York Strip, baked potato, and shrimp cocktail for my birthday. One of the best steaks I've ever had. Cooked perfectly and juicy. Shrimp was big and had good flavor. In town for work for 3 months along with my wife, I think we'll be back for our anniversary in July.
Had dinner at Montes in Ottawa last night and everything was spot on perfect. If you are looking for a dinner where quality is everything, you should go here. I love the old school super club atmosphere and the service is spectacular.
We started with stuffed jalapeños and then shared two entrees. I had the Fried Lake Perch and Meaghan had the London Broil. We took an order of tiramisu home which didn't make it to the fridge before the forks came out.
If you like great quality food or steaks you need to give Montes a try. For steak lovers I would recommend bone-in USDA prime ribeye or their dry aged steak. Worth every penny!!

If I could give my friend, Brad Hughes, and his superior establishment 10 stars, I would. Wherever I go, stateside and beyond, I recommend Montes in Ottawa, IL. Always good to give props to a fellow Marquette grad; yet, I would mention Montes even if I didn't know the ownership/management. Fine dining just does not get better than Montes, anywhere. I've had steak/lobster at Ritz London UK and the most delicious meals throughout the Caribbean resorts. Montes is just as excellent, and right at home! Well done, Hughes family!
We had a 630 reservation and arrived a few minutes early and were seated right away. Our waitress was attentive and friendly. Food was spot on. I ordered prime rib and it was cooked perfectly. The seating was a little tight and the salad was overdressed but that won't stop me from coming back.

It's always a great meal and friendly service at Monte's! It never disappoints.
This is our favorite date spot! We either sit at the bar or the dining room. The staff is always extremely friendly and professional! The food is constantly good and prices are very reasonable. Highly recommend it!

Food was excellent and large portions. Great atmosphere! We celebrated our 14th wedding anniversary. We had Heart shaped crab cakes, seafood chowder, broiled shrimp, fresh salmon. All was delicious. Can't wait to go back!

Relax & enjoy! The motel recommended them- and everything was great! Ambiance is very dark, candles & flowers. Service efficient, but not over bearing. My steak was cooked to perfection! Salad was fresh & beautiful- a bit pricy, but worth a splurge!
Great specials. Perfect steaks and all food really. Appetizers taste homemade. Service is outstanding always. Great for a friday date night and going to check out the river.

Was in the mood for crab legs and steak.. Googled steak and crab near me.. being on the road traveling for work and being from the west coast I'm always skeptical of the seafood.. but hands down best king crab 🦀 legs I've had. That's saying alot! Ceviche delish and don't forget the Rib eye🤑. Our waiter Jeremiah was phenomenal along with I'm assuming the owner greeting guests. Very wonderful experience we will be back!

Great dining experience! 8 of us got together to have a dinner before the holidays and do some catching up. The waitress and owner were very accommodating and helpful to make our visit perfect. I ordered the garlic steak which is cooked with 6 garlic cloves packed down into the meat. It was cooked the way I liked it. Others enjoyed salmon or another kind of fish. Sides were tasty also.

Always wonderful service! Excellent food and drinks. Brad and his team are a well oiled machine - all social distance and safety precaution in place. The great service allows you to focus on the enjoyment of a great meal out/date night/celebration & you can almost forget that the world is so crazy right now.
