Fun place with very good staff. We had the pork street tacos and Thai pork and pineapple flatbread from the Happy Hour menu. Also had glasses of the Happy Hour house white and red and enjoyed them both. Amanda was our server and did a great job. She made our visit fun. We’ll definitely return and recommend Louie’s to friends.
Fantastic food experience for me! I have to be gluten, soy and dairy free. Louie's has gluten free fish & chips which was an awesome treat for me! The server even adjusted my order so that it would be dairy free as one of the side items and the dressing would not have been dairy free. Great service, great food and I'm happy to report no cross contamination issues either! I can't wait to eat here again and again and again!
Went here for a birthday celebration and it was new to everyone and everyone liked it. The atmosphere was great. The food was really fresh and different. The waiter was really cool. Our group over stayed between the lunch and dinner break and no one ever came over to hint to leave. Someone on their break even brought more water without us asking. (Ok maybe that was a hint ). I recommend giving this place a try!
The service was incredibly fast and attentive. The new hostess and our server, Ross, were both fantastic. The food was incredible (I highly suggest the gnocchi) and the atmosphere of this place was fantastic. Give this place a try!
Make a reservation. Charcuterie board was delicious and definitely would be enough for a little bite with some wine. The steak was a little over cooked for what we asked but it had a good flavor. The triple bacon gnocchi was very rich and tasty.
The Merlot was good but definitely check prices or just get a bottle. The Old Fashioned was one of the best we’ve had in KC. Overall a great experience but it is pricey.
Great vibe. Busy place Fish and chips are ok. My wife loved her salad. Burger is great! Guacamole plate was interesting.
Louie's food and service is always great. This was our first visit to this location and we had a great time. We will be coming back. The incredible thing is that almost everything on the menu is gluten free and the keep a truly GF kitchen. Celiacs can splurge on comfort food it is hard to find anywhere else. Things like fish and chips, deep fried cheese curds, and coated food like chicken picatta. Yum, yum. It is expensive, but worth the splurge.
The older male host was kinda rude. I walked in and he just said "what do you need", I said a booth for two, he said "you only need a table if there's two of you", okay whatever that's fine...
So sat down...
Waiter was nice enough, didn't come to the table too often. The pasta was absolutely delicious. Definitely a pricey place for a glass of wine but I guess that's the point. Nice place to sit back and have a conversation.
This is a restaurant with friendly but very slow service and enjoyable but not great food.
If you are looking for a place to unwind, socialize and let the evening unwind at a relaxed pace, this may be a good fit for you. Otherwise, you'll do just as well or better down the road.
The wine that I got was upper end from their by-the-glass options, but the chardonnay was only mediocre. The portion was good.
Per our waitress'es recommendation, I ordered the spicy shrimp diablo. This was a respectable dish with good shrimp, pasta and sauce which was enjoyable and well plated. While it was tasty, it certainly was not the hot or spicy that I expected for a diablo meal.
The beignets were well done - a solid hit to share. They add a splash of flavor in a stylish dessert, which was a nice way to end the meal.
Overall, we did enjoy dinner but I would be less than enthusiastic about returning here because of the glacial pace of the meal.
Our server was incredible! We took all of her suggestions and they were all delicious! I got the salmon Benedict and the bottomless mimosas. 10/10 experience!
Loved our mother's day brunch! Friendly service and food was great! Loved the mimosas!
Small dive with big flavor. Whether you order the food or just stopping in for a drink this place does not lack in either. With the atmosphere to match this place is a must visit in Overland Park. Great energy and service from everyone inside. This is a great venue with every corner covered. I have been here a couple times before but decided to try brunch this go around and was not disappointed. Had the rise and shine Flatbread with bottomless cranberry mimosas and beignet's on the side. Filling and delicious I will definitely be back
