The place is bright and cheery and the people very friendly! Terrific Bahn Mi's!! Good sized menu of plates and sandwiches! Tables inside and will have tables outside on their deck. We live here in town and it's nice to have another nice place to eat!!

Great banh mi and fresh spring rolls! I had the chargrilled pork banh mi and it was extremely flavorful, paired with crispy cukes, shredded carrots, a zesty mayo sauce, and fresh cilantro. Next time I'll order extra jalapenos. The store was clean and staff were friendly. We ate at a picnic table across the street by the waterfront, and enjoyed the seagull's antics, watching the boats go by, and kids throwing cast nets from a nearby pier. My only regret is that I didn't get pho to go for supper tonight! We'll visit again.

There's no way I would have discovered this place if it wasn't for Bourdain. I was quickly greeted by owner Yen Tran, who quickly surmised that I wasn't a local... I told her I wanted the Combo Pho, just like Tony had... But I also wanted a Pork Banh Mi and a Vietnamese coffee because I haven't had much Vietnamese food since my trip to Vietnam last year. This convince store, bait shop, general store, restaurant put down some legit pho! The Banh Mi hit the spot as well! More importantly what made my visit special was how friendly and warm Mrs. Tran was, she wanted to hear about all that I ate and saw when I visited Vietnam. She also discussed Anthony's day in Palacios. "He was a great storyteller, but more importantly, he made you feel welcome enough to tell your own story to him" I grabbed a few drinks for the road, thanked Mrs Tran (in Vietnamese... The only phrase I know) and told her I would definitely be back!

New management/ownership? So no more Vietnamese food, however, the weekend enchiladas did not disappoint. Great homemade food, excellent flavor, big portions. Would definitely recommend

My experience here was amazing. I ate some fresh breakfast and talk to a great cashier and two great cooks. Sean was very helpful and they actually had price tags on their items.

The best restaurant in town is hiding in a bait shop/convenience store. You can get a Bhan Mi for $3.50 and the Pho 🍜 is soul nurturing. You can buy a fishing license, bait, cold drinks and have a wonderful lunch all in one spot.

Always great food! We love taking our tacos or Vietnamese food across to the picnic tables at the park. Today we watched the porpoise swimming in the bay 💙

Hands down one of the best places to eat that I've ever been. They serve Mexican food during the day, and their breakfast burritos are my absolute favorite. In the evenings, they serve Vietnamese food, and omg, it's so good. We love the pho, vermicelli, and basically everything else they have on the menu. We eat there for almost every meal every time we're staying in town.

Stopped by a local store to grab a few things we needed this morning. I asked the clerk where the best place for breakfast was. Without hesitation, she said The Point. After explaining where it was, I headed over. Walked in, ordered, had my tacos in a few minutes and was out the door. Staff was very helpful and friendly. The tacos were hot and delicious! Great suggestion. If we come to Palacios again we’ll definitely get breakfast tacos from The Point!

2017 Review: This place serves as a rest stop/convenience store, restaurant, and tackle shop. Most reviews are for the restaurant, and I will agree that the food here is great as almost all are made to order and never cooked before, however there are negatives as many employees never stay for long, this has caused my past several experience with inconsistency with foods being made or wait times. At times I will get kitchen employees that don't know how for certain dishes and will go with what they'll believe after asking others and even during slow hours I found single orders taking nearly 17-35 minutes(possibly due to call-in orders). Outside of that during lunch hours the place is often packed with it's popularity and good food. Most of the time it's relaxing to wait if it's for the food with good service to bring friends and family but for other times it feels frustrating to even go there for the other parts of the store as it isn't convenient with the restaurant having all the attention and sharing 1 check-out register. Update: This review is an update after almost a year. For the restaurant side consistency has improved with employees now used too both menus while many of the recipes or food quality has changed since it's opening. A lot more people are calling in their orders than previously, so while the wait time has not improved, the tension has decreased in the store has during busy times. It is now easier to shop the rest of the store and check out. P.S. I would be cautious ordering when there is a high volume of the same items as quality and/or proportions will tend to suffer. I have gotten breakfast tacos with almost all potatoes and minimum amount of egg in a attempt to cutting corners.

Every time we are in town or all the time during the summer we eat here everyday. It is so delicious with many options. Unfortunately I heard the kitchen is closed til February due to workers quitting. I’d like to say, I will ALWAYS support this little gem. It’s been a family favorite for years and always will be.

Delicious. Came here as we were driving through from Houston to another little spot on the gulf. The food is tasty and freshly made. A very calm, relaxing environment. Price is on point too. We had the chicken/pork vermicelli and spring rolls. Both were amazing! Beats fast food and makes you feel good after eating it.

All we've ever ordered from here is breakfast tacos. They are deliscious. We haven't tried the pho yet. It is on our to-do list. I will have to agree, the service is a little slow. But the food is deliscious so I don't mind the wait.
