This was my first visit to this Cactus Jacks Location. It was GREAT! We spent a bit of time enjoying drinks at the bar before dinner. The bartenders were friendly and attentive. The pours were really good for the prices. 🍻 Dinner was really good... We were greeted promptly and received exceptional service from (K-dawg) lol - I didnt catch her name, but that was her name on the check. (I think it was Kari) Prime Rib, sooooo good. Fresh warm bread and the home made bread pudding dessert was AMAZING! It's a definite place to check out!

The food was amazing and service was topnotch. I had the salmon and it was delicious my husband had the prime rib and he said it was some of the best he's had. We shared the bread pudding and it was spot on with the delicious bourbon sauce. Definitely a must if you're in Palm desert.

Very unassuming from the outside but very nice inside. We went for lunch and had great service from Sam. My wife had the fish and chips. She loved the light breading, but the fish was soft and not very meaty. I had the Philly sandwich, overflowing with roast beef, peppers and onions with a rich dipping sauce, and it was excellent! Lots of tantalizing items on the menu - recommended!

First time here. Food was great, fantastic customer service. The fish sandwich was crispy, not greasy, all the vegetables were fresh and tasty.

Great restaurant/bar/grill. We sat in the outside terrace bar and had great food and people can smoke if they want to. Barman,waiter was great. Very friendly and quick with drink orders. Would definitely recommend and we will be back next time were in town.

We decided to stop in here for the first time based a great reviews. Clean, nice place. Service was excellent...friendly, attentive and quick. Food was excellent. We had the wings and fish sandwich. (forgot to take pics), but cooked perfectly. Not greasy like some places do. Definitely would return.

I did get the prime rib and it was good. Not great, but good. My wife got the Sea bass wild rice entre and right away I was jealous. It was cooked to perfection, just right! I was worried it would have been over cooked, so passed. First time there for us. I will go back again and this time get fish fish, as they nailed it.

While other bars measure their pours as if each drop must be accounted for in a ledger, Cactus Jack's continues to lead the world in giving you the most bang for the buck when you order a drink. The fact that the food is good and you will always find someone for good conversation is just a bonus. But the real gem is Melanie - an absolutely outstanding bartender.

A nice friendly bar & grill. The food is very good and the speciality is Prime Rib. I tried the Prime Rib Sliders and they were very tender and terrific. Cooked medium to medium rare. The bar tenders provided great service. Good company and fun times. Recommended.

Update: Love CJ’s. I come in here and it reminds me of high school where I’m a shy, insecure freshman amongst a bunch of cool seniors living their best days of their life. It’s what The Nest was circa ‘03. Butts getting pinched by cougars and rippin shots with someone’s grandma. The good ‘old days. When drinks were heavy and stiff, food was salty and greasy and no eff’s given. I hope it never changes. I must be getting old now that I’ve become a local here. It’s an old time crowd and kinda has an American Lord Fletchers vibe to it…but nothing can replace Fletchers. The bar is always packed with silver hairs, the drinks are boozy, and they only have Budweiser on tap. Not really but their weekend Bloody is epic. Food is good and I recommend a sandwich or Fish N Chips. I hear dinner is good but I ain’t boujee enough to be allowed into the dining room.

Ten years in the desert and had passed by this restaurant so many times. Not appealing on the outside and we thought it was just a bar. Well lo and behold we were so surprised! The dining room was quite nice. The service was fantastic. The food surpassed our expectations. The oyster Rockefeller was out of this world!! Best I have ever tasted. Prime rib just right. Steaks perfect. Two of us ordered Sand Dabs and will not again. Mushy!! Definitely a meat place!!! Soooooo good.

Let me just say this is a local gem. First off, I saw other reviews about the place needing an update or refresh... forget about it and just got enjoy the place. If you're not retired yet, you might be the youngest person there. That being said, the Prime Rib Sliders w/ the Au Jus and horseradish sauce are out of this world. They also have normal horseradish if you ask (I'm a huge fan of horseradish). It's not on the menu but you can order a 4th slider. Summer was my server and she was consistently on point and always checking in to make sure I was enjoying everything and my drink never ran empty. That brings me to my next point. They do NOT skimp on their pours! Had an Ol' Fashion and a Manhattan and they were perfect! The bar is always packed w/ locals but almost all of them are friendly. Chatted with a few while I was here and for the most part everyone is happy unless they just grumpy people in general.

Great food and service and not too expensive. They close relatively late at night so it's a great option if you want to stay at the pools until late. Highly recommend!

This is our friend's favorite place. They bought me lunch yesterday. The "Philly Cheese Steak" was delicious and so big I could only eat half. Went back today and had an Old Fashion Cocktail that was twice the size of most bars for $11.00 which was very fair. I ordered the "Prime Rib Sliders" that were tasty but not worth $26.00. The service was ok but the best place is at the bar which is kind of dominated by the "regulars" which is understandable. I'll probably stay with the places where I am a "regular."

Came here for an early business dinner before the crowd. The atmosphere is fantastic, though aimed at an older audience. Very traditional American cuisine, but the pasta tasted great. Our service was exceptional.

The food wasn’t good for me it was very busy restaurant the bar was elbow to elbow. It is great comfort I guess the customers seems they know each other; this is our first time to visit this restaurant. Its easy to find. The server was very slow. I understand because she is the only server at that time. The food quite pricey definitely not going back.

Was looking for a place for dinner and happen to see this on GMaps in the area I was searching. Wow, what a pleasant surprise. Seems like a place the locals like. The staff was super friendly, and yes, the prime rib was fab. Will be going back when we are next in the area.
