I have to say this place has never failed me once they always come clutch with my cravings. I ran into this place while my fiancé was pregnant across the street and she was hungry so I to a walk led across and boy was I shocked that I never knew about this place. I ordered our exotic burgers and the rest is history, I have been a loyal customer ever since.
Big portions, always good. Not fancy but always tasty. Plenty of lunch and breakfast options. My favorite is the country scramble with mushrooms perfect for vegetarians.

Not for 'Foodies'. This is a basic Diner w all the trimmings.... Decent food, great prices. We stop in for Breakfast, and were thrilled at the variety, quality, and quantity of our meals at such good prices.
While definitely NOT a foodie destination, this diner is good for cheap, bland, high-caloric intake.
I had the huevos rancheros, which was very bland. The hash browns tasted like they came from the freezer (whether they actually did or not, I don't know), and the beans were just paste. However, at $6 total, who could complain!?! I'm not!
After breakfast, I brushed my teeth; it was a relief to get the blandness off my palate.
Quick Hearty Breakfast. When you walk into the place and see several firemen in line for breakfast you know you have found a great local place to eat breakfast. I have always been impressed with the portions and the freshness of the food. Check out the extensive menu and the order at the counter you will be served very quickly at your table.
Cool place. They offer a very extensive menu, busy but not crowded during lunch hours. Their salads are good, they also have daily specials at reasonable prices. I would come back again and again .....

I spent the Thanksgiving holiday in Palm Springs. John's Is one of my favorite places to dine each time I visit Palm Springs. They have a large and varied menu and the prices are very reasonable. I've been there for breakfast, lunch, and dinner. The food and service are excellent. I have never been disappointed there. Keep up the great work!!
Beautiful old style place. I had the "California Mushroom burger"(+egg) combo. Delicious! The fries were perfectly seasoned and the house sauce was really good.
We had breakfast here on a Sunday at 9am and I had a sausage egg on sourdough bread. The sandwich came with lettuce tomato and mayo. While it was not the typical breakfast sandwich the combination was delicious. I would have come back again but it was closed on Monday.
Great diner food especially for breakfast!!! John's has a variety of dishes on their menu - from salads, to sandwiches, to platters and so much more.
Ordered the French Toast set that comes with sausage or bacon and egg - a meal packed with the right flavours and textures from the burnt edges of the French toast. We also ordered the Country Fried Steak plate which was also very delicious and filling. The other dish we ordered was the Bacon plate with egg, toast, and a huge hash brown. All the dishes were filling and definitely worth the calories!
There's usually a line so make sure to go early. A great option for the great American diner cuisine.
Order at the counter, get a number and pick your table and wait. Quick service. Now to the food … cob salad was great! Others in our group had burgers that were very good also. Little one had chicken fingers that were also very good. Sandwich’s come with fries. Old diner feel with plenty of seating. Would go there again.
Love this place. Super casual cafeteria style setting, order food at the counter, they give you a number and bring it to you.
I usually order the Santa Fe chicken salad (which is pictured with this review) and it is consistently great. Chicken is of high quality and never over cooked and dry, the rub they use gives it an awesome flavor. Salad has nice mixed greens with tomato, cheese, etc.
Seriously one of the best value meals you can get in PS and bustling for lunch.
Place has a good sized parking lot too. Easy stop across from Trina Turk in the uptown design district.
It's a vintage diner experience. Staff are friendly and welcoming. The food is amazing. The menu is large and diverse. This was our first time eating here. We're looking forward to working our way through the many different plates served. This is a must stop for visitors from out of town. If you're local to palm springs this restaurant should be on your list of "go to" places
Stopped in for some lunch. We ordered at the counter and then seated ourselves. We sat at a large table for 4. Our lunch was soon brought to our table. We all order Chinese chicken salad and a coke. The salad was huge and delicious ! You can only eat about half. Everything was clean and the air conditioning was on. A great value here. Lunch for 4 people with the tip was less than $100.00 !
Me and my friends liked John’s restaurant overall! We liked the french toast it was really good! My biscuits and gravy was ok. Lacked flavour, the biscuits were very basic. Prices were reasonable. You order first and pay and are given a number and you just pick your own seats and they bring your order out to you. So its like a sit down fast food place. Staff are friendly. Plenty of parking. Nice area to walk around!
Perfect place for all meals.
We visited twice a day with family.
