Worried about the amount of patrons as we pulled up (parking lot was bursting), all for not. The two of us were seated immediately, greeted by our server almost instantly, where we were given the specials, which we chose, Prime rib and upgraded veggies. Fries for me baked potatoes for hubby. We ordered drinks, which came quickly. The food came out super fast as well and was delicious! The building and decor was beautiful and there was so much to look at and discuss. Great food and great service. Very glad we decided on this place! Best meal of our trip!!

Highly recommend! The character of the building is a delight and well worth a visit all on its own. Service is always good, and the food as well. Whatever you order, don’t miss the Whiskey Bread Pudding for dessert!

My god this place is fantastic. I love old spaces with character and this certainly fits the bill. Every sqaure inch of the restaurant is packed with charm and as a current bonus The decorations they have up for Christmas look great. Our waitress was extremely friendly and checked in on us frequently even tho she had many other tables. We tried two seasonal cocktails, the jolly juice was good but the Russian Gingerbread drink will keep me up at night dreaming of future visits. The burger I ordered was one of the best I've ever had and they have certainly found a way to make fries standout. They were seasoned perfectly and paired with honey mustard, were delicious. Great job Steaming Tender. I hope to visit for many years to come.

Great atmosphere and good food. Also, the portions were very big and I loved their service. Although it is very crowded at times, I believe it is a good place to try out, and even revisit repeatedly. Highly recommend.

Charming and fun location with great food and service. Portions are fairly large. My niece and I visited this place last night. I had the halibut baked in limoncello sauce with artichokes and sun-dried tomatoes. It was different and very good. My niece ordered the mac & cheese with barbecued pulled pork on top and said hers was very good too. I tasted the mac & cheese it was very rich. In fact all the food we ordered was rather decadent. For an appetizer we got the cranberry cheese chutney which was excellent, and for dessert their specialty warm whiskey butter bread pudding, which is to die for. We both brought most of our entrees home to have room for dessert. Our waiter Chido was entertaining and very helpful. While we were there, a train raced by the big windows, which only added to the ambience.

We stopped in for lunch over the weekend. Menu is comprehensive with something for everyone. Prime rib sandwich with fries and chicken salad wrap were very good and the clam chowder was excellent. Great place to bring kids too..real trains to see and you might see a train whiz past while you eat your lunch. Outside seating is available. Service was excellent with lots of wait staff. Very cool inside so bring long sleeves!

We were a party of 10. They do not take reservations, however we were seated within a half hour of our arrival time. The waitress was wonderful and very friendly. Everyone seemed to enjoy their food. They were out of a couple of items on their menu but were willing to substitute. My seafood linguini came with scallops. Since they didn't have any they asked if i would prefer more shrimp or haddock in place of the scallops. Kudos for asking the customer.

Our party arrived around 5:40pm without a reservation. The hostess made sure we were comfortable in the waiting area before a table opened up for us (~5 min). The atmosphere of this restaurant is "old train station", with intact ticket booth, several train cars, and, if you're lucky, an Amtrak train will zoom by while you eat. The décor was spirited and nice to take photos of. However, the acoustics were a bit loud. Food was ok, I had the lobster pasta. It was tasty, but there was minimal seafood actually in the dish. We're talking just 2 shrimp and 2 scallops. Portion size was large, but not overwhelming.

Another amazing Google Maps find. We are heading to NY and stopped by Steaming Tender for dinner. I had the Baked Fisherman with super delicious sweet potato wedges and my wife had the super tasty Mac and Cheese. We both had side salads which were crispy and fresh. I had the three beer sampler which was very much worth the $7.00. I did have a little more tummy space for the chocolate lava cake with whipped cream. Emily was our server and was very attentive and pleasant. Only one mile off of I90 so it’s a very easy off and on. I can 100% suggest Steaming Tender if you are passing by or in the area. Our meal was delicious!

Very good food, servers are very friendly and give a history of the place when you order. Great historical decor, and you can visit the dining car in the parking lot. You can also board the locomotive located in the parking lot as well. You can order from the side of the restaurant and eat outdoors.

Beautifully converted train station with classic vaulting woodwork. Lots of interesting photos, postcards and memorabilia. Oh, and the food is superb. I had baked haddock in wine and lemon sauce. Outstanding flavor! My wife had the New England turkey dinner and was very satisfied. My son had the prime rib sandwich and loved it. Waite staff was very polite and there were enough of them to serve all tables promptly. Linen tablecloths are a nice touch. A couple trains even passed by while we were dining adding to the atmosphere. Prices are fair. Good selection of beverages.
