We had ravioli with sausage and bacon pasta. It came wonderful fried garlic and deep fried leaves, which is a first for me. We also had a thin crust truffle oil mushroom pizza which was cooked in the wood fire oven they have in the front of the restaurant. They were both excellently cooked and very tasty. The price is reasonable for the quality of food. I'd return again if I come back to Palo Alto.
Great experience! I had a simple lunch of salad and fettuccine bolognese with some fine white wine from Napa Valley. Everything was delicious and meal size was quite fair (not that usual huge one in the US). Service was quick and kind, the restaurant looks good and has an elegant atmosphere. Definitely recommend!
This is an amazing italian restaurant with fresh calamari daily. They have the best authentic flavors and friendliest staff I have ever met. Everyone was well educated about the different dishes. The executive head chef came out to our table and greeted us. He told us a little bit about the restaurant and how they operate their wood fire oven. Great positive atmosphere with a cozy welcoming feel. This restaurant serves up true Italian spirit... you will want to stay and hangout for hours.
Enjoy La Strada's woodfire pizza oven authentic flavors and full bar. With a great selection of scotch, cognac, and authentic Italian liquor /beer, you're sure to be impressed.
If you're on an intimate date, or just stopping in for lunch.... you'll be blown away by the flavors and and friendly service. A+ 5 STAR
Food: Nice pasta, I got the buckwheat papardelle with mushrooms instead of chicken. Sauce was good, I think their recipe for the buckwheat could be modified a bit as it was overly firm. My husband got the fettuccine Bolognese and loved it. They had really great fresh bread. We were eating around 3:30 pm so the bread came a little after our food did.
Location: They have a very nice patio right in downtown Palo Alto.
Service: The service was average, nothing to write home about.
You had a great seat at the bar with excellent service. I wanted to give 5 stars but the seafood pasta was a solid 4 out of 5. I added red pepper flakes and Parmesan cheese to liven it up a bit, but ultimately it was solid - not great.
Really good food people. Don’t know why the low ratings. The service was impeccable. If I lived around here, I would be back weekly.
Amazing wood fired pizza, plus good drinks and a full Italian menu. Half price pizza for kids. Nice ambience. Good service. Under rated. Right on University Ave. Give them a try and you won't be disappointed!
Excellent intimate restaurant with great Italian food and grilled land and seafood. Service was wonderful and friendly. The scallops and prawns were a great appetizer and the lab chops were marinated flavorfully. They even included a vanilla bean custard for my birthday. Definitely would recommend!
