We have lived in Taiwan, Japan and US. We try to test many restaurants until we found this restaurant. They provide fresh food and the seasoning is not strong.
That`s why we love it. They also offer the business lunch around $7 and I never finish up it, because it is a big lunch. To tell the truth, I book many food in our guest party and they never let me be ashamed. We all love this restaurant.
Been going to this restaurant for years. Good food, very reliable. Part of some motel, most ppl probably drive rite by it without realizing what it is.
Hong Kong Restaurant was reasonable and slightly better than what you would expect at this type of restaurant. Verdict – Hong Kong Restaurant serves up solid Chinese food in Palo Alto, and at reasonable prices. This is the best bet in this area. You would have to drive north to San Mateo to find bet
Pretty good. We came with a friend who ordered for us.
We had duck, chicken, mushrooms with baby bok choy, walnut prawns, crepes, soup, white rice, and lobster. All the dishes were well seasoned and tasty.
Very good! I’m pretty unfamiliar with traditional Chinese food, so I went with the beef. (Can’t remember the exact name of the dish). It was flavorful and filling.
Good place to eat with a mostly Chinese clientele, which is a good sign. The chow fun is good. We tried one of the chef's specials which has shrimp stuffed jalapenos, tofu and eggplant in brown sauce but that was weakly flavored. We will go back and try something else from their regular menu. Good place to get Chinese food if you are near the south side of Palo Alto.
Hidden gem in PA & MV. Resumed dine in at this place, the dishes (that I normally order) still remain high quality with a decent price, compare with other local Chinese restaurants, who raised price sky high. The service still remains high quality… plate changing after crab dish. And the don’t automatically add tips, which others are forcing 18-20% of tips regardless # of dinners. Of course we gave 20% tips for the lunch because of satisfaction. Highly recommend live crab with salty eggs/咸蛋黄珍宝🦀️. The size of the crab is so big, my mom even asked is this one crab or one and half😂. 干炒牛河is not oily as others which is good too. We will definitely do more dine-in or take out to support this restaurant. Stay in the business🙏
Over the years as Chinese restaurants have come and gone on the peninsula, Hong Kong Restaurant has become our mainstay. The humble decor belies the warm service of the staff and familiar flavors of the food. We have been delighted to explore the nooks and crannies of the menu, and dearly hope this restaurant will continue to feed us for years to come!
First I have to say that the older lady that works there is amazing. We always have our kids with us and it's tricky with a 1 yr old and a 5 yr old to sit still or leave food on the table and not the floor. She always comes by to check up on us or gives our kids little treats to help them stay calm. Sometimes it's fortune cookies or slices of oranges. The food is good when you see other people around you getting the same thing. I always order the roasted half duck. If you want somewhere to sit down and eat as a family, here it is.

I love the mongolian beef from this place. I have ordered other dishes in the past too and they all are great! High quality for a great price and they make it quick for pick up!
I have ordered again but this time different plates: combination fried rice, egg plant with hot garlic sauce. I forgot what the veggie plate is called: mushu vegetables??? All very delicious!!!
