Best overall dinner I had while in PCB; certainly quite a bit better than a lot of the restaurants in the area.
I think this is good for a nice dinner out without being too formal or stuffy. It's got some atmosphere, and the food was very respectable. Grouper imperial was good, though the asparagus seemed like it needed something a little more to it. I could for sure see coming back here if I'm in the area again.

Best dining experience we've had in PCB! Everything was cooked to perfection, our server was lovely, and you cant beat the atmosphere. Over the years we've been to many local restaurants and a few chains and have never found a go to seafood restaurant until now. My only complaint is not finding it sooner. Well worth the price if you're a foodie who also enjoys seafood. The lobster bisque and lobster spring rolls were amazing!

Perfect experience from entry to departure. We arrived shortly after 5pm and were fortunate to be seated right away. All of the staff appeared professional and created a welcoming and pleasant atmosphere. The food was simply perfect. My husband had a New York strip that was prepared just as he ordered and flavorful. I had the Diver’s scallops and the dish was excellent. We added house salads and took some of their homemade Key Lime Pie to go. If you are looking for an excellent dining experience I highly recommend!

This place is great. We loved the aquarium. The food was amazing. Our server was so polite, attentive, & knowledgeable about the menu. I had firecracker shrimp & a saffron risotto, my husband had the wagyu bolognese & a lobster bisque. We also shared a crème brûlée for dessert. It was so delicious. I highly recommend the bisque, we might have to come back just to have it again!

This is a very nice restaurant with a beautiful bar and aquarium behind it. The bartender was wonderful and attentive. The food was absolutely incredible! I am a foodie and eat out quite often.
They start you off with some delicious freshly baked sweet bread with homemade butter.
Those scallops were the best I ever had! They had a nice beautiful sear yet they melted in your mouth! The risotto was also excellent!

Came here during off season, the service was stellar. We got the VIP attention from the staff with minimal wait. Been coming down here for our vacation; and this specific restaurant has been our favorite. The food here is delicious at the right portion. The staff was very accommodating and kind. During peak season, there’s always live piano while you are dining as well. I would definitely recommend this place for couples who look for romantic dining experience.

This place was AMAZING! I mean as soon as you step through the you feel like you just landed in the middle of the ocean. The aquarium runs the length of two walls and makes for a great backdrop for photos. You expect good service at a place like this but they exceeded all expectations. Drinks were great, then came the mains and my scallops with risotto was fabulous. Last but not least was dessert, my party order a sampler of four most popular items. I had to try the bread pudding and I'm so thankful I did. Everyone had to try it and we all agreed it was hands down the best of all.

We had a delicious dinner for four tonight, April 15. My husband and I were in town from Mississippi but my daughter and son in law live here and had been before.
Our waitress Sue was great, attentive but not hovering. The live music was good but I'm glad we were in a side room so it wasn't too loud for dinner conversation.
I was extremely disappointed in the cleanliness of the restrooms. For the price of dinner I expect excellence in all areas and this did not match that expectation. The restrooms looked like they had not been checked all night and we were a late party around 8pm.
I had to send back a glass of wine as it was very old and the temperature of my dishes could've been hotter.
All in all it was a good dinner and we will try it again on another trip.

I’ve ate here quite a few times when I vacation here but this last visit was not like the others. I hyped my family on how great this resturant was to to be disappointed off the bat with our interaction with our waitress which was very minimal. She did not check on us during the meal and observed her focus on others. When she finally showed up my sons food was not cooked properly where he did not eat it and was content in not eat after having to wait. Needless to say we still got charged for the meal and nothing was said about to meal after explaining the food was not cooked. No apologies.

Can’t give enough stars for this place. Absolutely phenomenal!!! Everything we ordered was perfect, but the lobster bisque took the crown. We also had the prime rib, strip steak, grouper imperiale, and the blackened redfish. The customer service was outstanding!!! Our server Kevin went WAY above and beyond and was very personable. The manager on duty also went out of her way to get us dessert due to the wait time (about an hour and a half, worth it). Our whole family has been raving about this place since we left. 20/10 will definitely be back!!!!

Our experience started at a 1 star but definitely redeemed their self once we got to the table! When we arrived they said it would be 1.5 hours, but ended up being 2 hours 10 minutes. We got 3 appetizers for free for the extra wait. Then we had the absolute best serve in all of Panama City! My husband and I had an incredible dinner here last night at the bar with ‘Nay. She was fantastic. Beautiful girl with a lovely spirit. There was live music, a lady playing the piano and singing some old Billy Joel classics. We started wine and cocktails... then an appetizer of Lobster egg rolls ( sooooo good! ) and had the Grouper Imperial for the main course. Let me just say... the twice baked potato was perfection. Ended the meal with bread pudding which was out of this world. Highly recommend visiting for anyone in the Panama City Beach area. Loved visiting this beautiful restaurant and enjoying the massive fish tank.

We both loved everything we had---housemade bread, lobster spring rolls, Snapper Pontchartrain, and Diver Scallops with risotto. The huge aquarium and piano bar put their atmosphere far above anywhere else we've been in PCB. We will be back!

One of, if not THE best in PCB. It seems an average rating of 3.9 is too low but likely from those that had to wait long. They don't take reservations in spite of what this site says. You can get a drink and take it to the patio while you wait. The main room with piano bar is nice. The other room is quite and more casual. In all cases, the service is great and the seafood outstanding. Been there several times and highly recommend Saltwater Grill.

Aside from the long wait for a table, the service and food were top notch! Unfortunately we waited an hour and 45 minutes just for a table for our party (6 adults, 3 kids, and a baby). It was our last night at Panama City beach so we decided to eat at a nice restaurant and this was the pick due to reviews. The only down side was other people with smaller groups that had come after us were quickly getting seated. Hopefully they can sort out their system on how to accommodate big groups because if you're there first, you should be served first! Service and food was 5/5 but the hostess/waiting period was a negative 5!

First night in PCB and my wife & I ventured around and found the Saltwater Grill. We were promptly seated by a generous greeter and immediately introduced to our server Allison. She was extremely courteous and wanted nothing more than for our experience to be awesome and it was. Fantastic service start to finish. I ordered the sirloin & shrimp with a twice-baked potato which I highly recommend. My wife ordered the chicken and shrimp pasta which had two huge chicken breasts and so much we had plenty for lunch the next day. Fives, heck, Tens all around! Go here!!!

My girlfriend and I wanted to eat at a place with a little finer dining than Pineapple Willy's, so we decided on Saltwater Grill. Doesn't look like much when you first pull up, but once inside the atmosphere is enjoyable. A piano serenades the evening away at the snazzy bar, accompanied by a large fish tank. On to the menu, the drinks are tasty as martins are seemed to be the drink of choice. As for the food I had surf and turf, and girlfriend had the grilled chicken and shrimp Alfredo with a lobster tail. All in all we loved it the food was cooked very well, and I'm pretty particularly with my steaks it was perfect. Check out saltwater grill for a fun dining experience.

Defiantly pricey but worth it! The service is great and atmosphere is relaxing. 5 days out of the week they have a live pianist! He plays well and you'll recognize all his songs. The bar has more happy hour specials than tables and the food is always on point every time I go (have ate at this place 10+ times). They do an amazing thanksgiving dinner special each year. Every item I've order was cooked correctly and tasted delicious. Best prime rib in bay county.

Atmosphere. If your eating alone or with a date, this is a great place to come, sit at the bar and relax with the giant fish tank in the background, plenty of TVs if you want to catch a game, live piano . Food is pricy but it has always been good.

Fabulous! We were seated at the piano bar for faster seating and the pianist was perfect and charming. He played my favorite song by the temptations (My Girl). Our meal was perfect . My crab cake was scrumptious . My husbands steak was so good. He wished it came bigger than a 14oz :). My grilled chicken was perfectly cooked and seasoned. I can't wait to come back!

Poor dining experience. On a positive note the staff was nice & the appetizer was good, but that's where it ends. The restaurant is to loud & the piano player kept singing, badly! We complained to our server but nothing was done. The food was pricey & not good at all, very bland & ordinary. For the same price you can get a great seafood meal at Captain Anderson's. This restaurant had such good reviews but was an expensive disappointment.

Worth the Price and the Stop. Visited the location with our Aunt and Uncle. Great all around experience with the staff, food and aquarium. Best Grouper Imperial we have tried and all around excellent dinning experience. The pork chops were a killer along with the greek salad starter. It is higher in price than some other restaurants but you won't mind after tasting the food, stop by during the 4-530pm happy hour for a killer menu to save some money.

Happy Customers. My boyfriend and I went here our first night in PCB and this was my favorite place we ate at during our stay. Service, atmosphere, food quality and affordability altogether make this the perfect place to bring your family or just have a nice dinner for two. Our server was super friendly and checked on us with the perfect amount of frequency even though they were very busy. We had the Firecracker Shrimp (because everyone's reviews about them on here enticed us) and luckily I got to eat some before my boyfriend devoured them all! We had the lobster bisque; it was a little thick and salty for me BUT we dipped our bread into it and it was very good like that. I had Shrimp & Scallop Penne A La Vodka, I really liked it. And my boyfriend had Sesame Seared Ahi Tuna (which he loved, expect for the jasmine rice) and sides -snow peas and green beans, and seriously, the viggies are SO FRESH! Apparently they have their own garden and it definitely shows. I know it's odd, but I can't rave enough about the veggies!

Outstanding!!. I can't say enough about Salwater Grill. It was the best meal I had during my vacation, and I will be going back if I'm ever back in PCB. We went during Happy Hour (4:30 - 6:30) and had martinis that were amazing. My wife had the Mahi Mahi, and I had the Crab Cakes. Both entrees were great. The service and atmosphere were both excellent as well. The waitress was very knowledgable about the menu and prompt with everything. Definitely worth visiting!

Wonderful meal. We went to the Earlybird/Happy Hour that runs from 4-5:30pm and that offset the high price so many claimed in the other reviews. You can't get quality meals like this at an inexpensive price but offering the Earlybird specials is one way around it. The Prime Rib was delicious and so was the Beef Tenderloin. Everyone in our party was pleased. The ambiance was awesome, the customer service was outstanding and even management was going from table to table checking on everyone. I highly recommend Saltwater Grille!

A Great Find Off The Beaten Path. When you walk inside a new restaurant for the first time you immediately get a sense of how the experience will turn out when you see a clean waiting area, massve fish tank, and vibrant bar scene.<br/><br/>We were quickly seated and within a few seconds our waitress stopped by to welcome us and take our drink order.<br/><br/>We ordered the Grilled Salmon (x2) and the Pan Seared U-10 Diver Scallops. The salmon came with multiple starch choices and haricot vert. The Scallops were placed atop risotto and garlicky fresh wilted Spinach.<br/><br/>Our salads arrived and were a hit. I ordered the Greek (add'l $3) and it was nearly the size of a serving bowl. You definitely can split this into two salads.<br/><br/>The waitress also brought a basket of fresh warm bread. One had 3 herbs from their on-site herb garden. The other was simply a crusty loaf of white bread. Both were very good.<br/><br/>Our entrees were served hot and the presentatin was fantastic. The constant chatter was "Umm, this is really good, or Wow, the fish is cooked perfectly and grilled just right. We each took home a to-go box as the portions are too big to finish at one sitting.<br/><br/>A definite must to put on your list of restaurants when coming to Panama City. Not a tourist trap and certainly a local's hang-out...

Good place to eat. This was our 1st restaurant to try in PCB. Very nice atmosphere. Nice piano bar playing in the background. My wife ordered the Mahi Mahi and since she does not like seafood much she was worried. She loved it!!! I had a dinner salad the a shrimp cocktail. Both were excellent. The restaurant is a little off the beach so we were hoping that it would be good and we were not disappointed. Of course the huge saltwater aquarium is a real selling point. It was amazing. We highly recommend the Saltwater Grill.

We weren't sure where we wanted to go for a nice dinner. We finally decided to come here... No regrets. Everything we had tasted fantastic. We had the crab cakes and shrimp and scallops in vodka sauce. Both of us substituted the lobster bisque for soup, which was fantastic. The only complaint I had was that everything was so rich. There was no break from it. The dishes were bursting with flavor. Our waitress was very efficient and friendly. We really enjoyed our experience and recommend this for a romantic date night.

Atmosphere is amazing (love the fish tank). The food is a little pricey, $20-$30 a person, BUT you get your money's worth. It's definitely worth it. Lobster bisque is amazing as is the ribeye. Mahi mahi is good too. The only portion that seemed small was the lump crab meat cakes. However, they were delicious. Bloody mary was also AMAZING, and it was $5. They will hit you with some little charges if you're not careful--- $1 to blacken your fish; $3 for lobster bisque even though you get a "choice of soup/salad," etc. <br/>Overall, totally worth it, and our server Bob was amazing. A top 5 pick to try in PCB.

Awesome Experience!!!. My husband and I Had dinner at Saltwater Grill last weekend while taking a short vaca & we were DELIGHTED!! Food and service were exceptional. Ambience was great. We arrived in time for the early bird special and happy hour. Great drinks also, We will definitely come back to this restaurant on every PCB trip! If you're on the fence about this one, don't be; it's a must for any PCB trip!!

Great ambiance and great food. It's a little pricy but you get what you pay for. The lobster bisque was absolutely amazing. Would recommend you to eat here if you haven't already.

This place was amazing. The service was great, the food was reasonably priced and delicious. I am a college student on vacation with my family and this was a perfect place to bring my parents, or even to go with someone on a date. It was a very classy place!

Yum!! Delicious! This place is one of the most yummiest places on the coast. Their calamari and sauce is fabulous. Their bread is delicious. Salads are great. The entree was awesome!!!! Quick and friendly service. Come here!!!!!

Great Food; Great Atmosphere. My family and I ate here on our second night in town. The fish tank really keeps the little ones occupied while you're waiting on a table. I was told it would be an hour wait, which I was o.k. with, but the hostess moved some things around and got us seated in about 20 minutes. (Kudos)<br/>The server (Trish) was really good and kept our glasses full and usually had one infront of us before we were done with the first drink. The seafood selection is solid, and the salads, although small were complemented by some of the best dressings I've ever had! I dropped $146 for 6 people and overall I'm satsfied with the price for the quality of food and service we received.

One of my favorite restaurants on the gulf coast! Great date night atmosphere! The food is AWESOME, the drinks are outstanding and the fish tank is a must see. The staff is always friendly and there when you need something. A must when in panama city!

If you are in PCB, and you like Seafood you have to go to Saltwater grill! Perfect service & friendly staff. We had the the mahi nd red snapper. The sauces the fish we're in were DELICIOUS! !

Excellent service! I recommend the lump crab cake dinner with the white wine butter sauce. My wife recommends the beef tenderloin with lump blue crab meat. Great food!

Everything was delicious! Lobster spring roll was great. Bread was straight from the oven and the filet was so tender I could cut it with my fork! The grouper chef special with rissotto cake was also fantastic. I highly recommend this place. Great food and even better service.

Perfect anniversary dinner. My wife and I have been looking for the perfect place to celebrate our one year anniversary, and we finally found it! We've had a week of bad seafood restaurant experiences ranging from Augusta, GA to Biloxi, MS... and my wife was apprehensive (to say the least) to try another restaurant with strong reviews but with a menu that was slightly higher than our normal dining budget. We were not disappointed in the least with the Saltwater Grill. <br/><br/>Our server, Kimber, was more than helpful with the menu, as well as making sure our glasses stayed full and we were satisfied with every little detail of our food. We knew we had found the right place to eat just from the bread they brought out, it was pretty amazing. I had no idea what to get with the large menu so Kimber suggested the Scamp Imperial (scamp grouper topped with lump crab). I always like trying the local favorite/thing I can't get elsewhere, and since they catch the scamp locally I figured why not. My eyes rolled when I took my first bite it was that good. We even got desert (which we normally don't do) because we figured if everything else was good the desert had to be amazing... and the key lime pie was.<br/><br/>The atmosphere was great, and the piano playing in the background added nicely to the ambiance. We were 110% satisfied with our visit, and even though our anniversary was a week ago we claimed this as our anniversary dinner.

We tried to go out for a nice dinner on vacation and it was reprehensible! The service was insanely slow with no excuse or explanation. The management came over to "apologize" and proceded to insult the entire party. They comped half of bill but it still did not compensate for the dry fish, overpriced food and horrendous service!

Perfect night out. This was our first time at the Saltwater Grill. The interior is clean and looks new. Lots of wood and marble. Bathrooms are clean and upscale. <br/><br/>Four of us had dinner and drinks around 9:00 on a Friday night. We sat at a large black granite table next to the piano bar because the couple with us wanted to hear the piano player. <br/><br/>I played it safe and had the Grouper. It was the best I have ever had. My wife had Fillet Minon that was a perfect medium rare as she ordered it. The gals drank their desserts (chocolate martinis) but I had cheesecake. We were all very satisfied with everything. <br/><br/>The guy playing the piano did a song by Pink Floyd and it sounded so good I had to walk over to see if it was really him playing the piano and singing, or if it was a machine. It was him. <br/><br/>Our waitress was there whenever we needed anything, and she looks like Heidi Klum.

Great Food, Great Service, Reasonably Priced. If you want great food and to be treated like you are important this is the place to go. Trish the manager makes you feel welcome and David the waiter's service is impeccable. We sent two couples there in the past two weeks and they all loved it. By far the best most consistent in PCB for food quality and service. We have tried them all and this is our favorite.

My husband and I tried the Spicy Shrimp appetizer, the Prime Rib and Chocolate Creme Brûlée during the Early Bird Special. The serving is a little smaller than the dinner menu but it was very filling and the food was great. Our server was very attentive. We will be back.

This was an amazing experience for our anniversary! We had reservations and they sat us in a wonderful private booth. The food was excellent! I loved everything from the crab cake appetizer to the soup,then following with the main entree! Our server Amy was polite and very professional! I love this place! Get the macadamia grouper!!!!

The food was great! That said- they need to work on wait staff. I had to ask for a drink (of water with lemon) 4 times. Took about 45minutes to get the lemon. My husband got 2 refills of beer in the time it took. The waitress also seemed to assume we didn't know what menu items were giving us dumbed down explanations that were not asked for. Again - food was good, but we won't be back.

Atrocious service, mediocre and overpriced food. One of our parties food did not arrive until 20 minutes after everyone else had been served. Explanation given was that it was mistakenly sent to another table. The Prime Rib could only be described as mediocre. The seafood dishes were slightly better. Our waitress checked on us a grand total of once. I ate the final half of my meal with nothing to drink. To top the night off, the busboy dropped dishes all over the floor right beside us. The poor woman at the next table had ranch dressing splattered all over her. All in all, a very forgettable experience. My family won't be back.

I love this place. Honestly it was one of the highlights of our vacation :). We asked for Bill as Mo had suggested but opted to be seated first available. Bill was told we requested him and he came by our table. He was great! Zach was our actual waiter and he provided excellent service! I ordered the surf and turf which was lobster tail and filet mignon and a caesar salad. All were delicious. I recommend this place!

The main courses were very good... The lobster bisque was ok...ours were lukewarm... Perhaps because it took an hour from when we ordered for us to get our soups/ salad...our server was pretty much absent... Groups that were seated after us were served their meals way before us... We did see other servers that seemed attentive to their tables...

Great food. This is one our our new favorite places to eat in PCB. We learned the love grouper here. It was so good we went back for a second time. Service was great.......It is well worth the wait but go early and you won't have that problem. I can't wait to go and eat there again when we go to the beach.

We just walked out of this place after leaving the waiter two bucks for our water. NOTE: we did not order, so this review is not for the food. Upon entering, the building was extremely stuffy and smelled horrible. At ~$30/entree, I expect a clean establishment where I can breathe.

These guys did it right! I ordered the Scamp Imperial and my wife ordered grilled scamp and they were wonderful. The service was also unbeatable. Best dinner experience of our vacation!

I don't know what these complainers are talking about. This place has a combination if a wonderful atmosphere, great food, great service, huge aquarium, and live piano. (at least when I was there). If you think the price is to high perhaps you'd be more suited at a Landry's or golden corral style place with cafeteria style silverware and screaming kids. Add them on Facebook and you can see what the specials are. Also hit The Fish House in Pensacola. One of my favorites ever.

I've only been to the Saltwater Grill once but it was not nearly as good as I had hoped for. I am more than willing to try again because the atmosphere is very nice but the food seemed only "ok", nothing over the top and was a bit over priced.

Don't eat here. We went here on October 20th for the early bird special and let me say that it was no special at all. The 16oz prime rib on the dinner menu was $23.99 and the early bird special for the prime rib was $13.99 and the weight wasn't listed so we asked the waiter and he said it was 8oz of prime rib. Oooh ok you do the math, your getting less and paying more. Some special huh. Same for the appetizers on the soooo called special menu. The waiter told us to order them from the main menu if we wanted more and we would save a couple bucks. Boy theses are great specials. I had the prime rib and it was edible at best. I recommend Boars Head for prime rib, it literally melted in your mouth and you could cut it with a fork. Basically in my opinion the saltwater grill is all show for what it is.

Memorable. Truly the best meal of our vacation! Everything was superb from the service to the food to the atmosphere. We can't wait to go back again. The seafood was fresh and prepared perfectly. The presentation was outstanding. Our waiter and the hostess made our visit memorable. If I ever owned a restaurant these are the type of people I would want working for me.

For fine dining - keep driving.... Saltwater Grill has a full parking lot around 5:00PM for their Early Bird Special. However, we decided to try their full menu and were less than impressed.<br/>I had the Lobster Bisque which was watery and runny and was removed from the bill. My entree was the half lobster stuffed with crab meat. It sounds good, but what is not mentioned is the size of the lobster.<br/>We got reamed $25 for what was(even the manageress agreed), about 3oz of lobster. <br/>My wife had a filet steak which was good, however we both had garlic mash which had no taste at all.<br/>The interior is gloomy, the fish tank is a fish tank and the service is reluctant/slow/sparse.<br/>It may be a great value for the early bird and judging by the number of cars in the lot, it is; but for fine dining, I'd keep on driving.....

Ate here last night and it was really good. Get the Grouper Macadamia, it's wonderful. My wife had the fried green tomatoes with lump crab meat as her dinner. It was also great. The bread was so so but we were saving room for dinner so it didn't matter. The lobster bisque was good as well.

Food and atmosphere were great. Prices were a little high but not unreasonable. Family friendly but quiet and kids not running wild. Can recommend the fried green tomatoes with crab meat and the grouper macadamia. Skip the only-a-hint-of-lobster bisque and get the she crab soup at Firefly.

This dining experience was the best we've ever had at the beach. The high rating from Southern Living was no lie. The staff was friendly and helpful, especially considering the number of children we had. We were treated like royalty by our waiter. The food was fabulous -- from the sweet, hot bread to the fried green tomatoes to the succulent prime rib and blackened salmon. And the giant saltwater aquarium was a delight for the kids. Delicious!!!

Delicious, friendly, and fun. We had an excellent time at this restaurant. We arrived late for our reservation, but they still had our table and we were seated immediately. The management went out of their way to talk to us, help us, and just had a friendly conversation even though they were incredibly busy. Our waitress was incredible and so attentive! We were a group of college students on spring break, but she treated us like any other customers and went out of her way to meet our needs. We barely had to wait at all for our food (especially with a table of 9) and it was all very hot. The food was DELCIOUS, to say the least. We all greatly enjoyed the food and our huge portions. Also, they have early bird specials for very cheap and an excellent happy hour with discounted drinks and half off well drinks. Needless to say, we were very impressed!
