Review Dusty's Oyster Bar & Eatery - Panama City Beach

Rebecca explores the world
I think everyone was tired when I arrived. It was ok service at the bar, however it was change of shift so maybe just bad timing. This isn’t your typical bar restaurant you would see at the neighboring pier park. It’s unique with dollar bills hanging and stapled everywhere. The crab legs I ordered were over done, lacking the snap but they tasted ok. The Parmesan baked oysters were really good with a gigantic dozen portion. It was just a couple bucks more than the half dozen

This is a really intersting place with $1 bills covering the entire ceiling and all the walls. We went during off season, in Nov, so we got served pretty fast. Our waitress was really great too. The salt and pepper in thr baby corona bottles were too cute so i incuded a picture of them too! We had fried pickles, scallops, grouper, and a cordon blue sandwich. All were great. We aren't experts with seafood vs value/price, but we felt the size of the scallops and the amount were a really great value compared to other places we've been. My husband has declared this to be his official scallop place.

Tonight was our first night in PCB and we chose Dusty’s because there was no wait. Walked in and the host recommended we sit at the oyster bar. I am so glad he did. Johnson was the best oyster shucker and really put on a show for my son. The food was great and the atmosphere was perfect! Fried clam basket and baked oysters were on point! Thank you for making our first night in PCB a memorable one! Have a feeling we’ll be eating here again before we go home.

Very popular place to eat. Fun atmosphere. More $1 bills than you can count taped all over the walls and ceiling! Fun juke box. Very lively crowds. Food was pretty good as well. Service was excellent! You won’t find many other cool places like this in Panama City.
Madison McNew
Freakin amazing food! We ordered crab claws, peel and eat shrimp, and Rockefeller oysters. Literally one of my top meals I’ve ever had. My boyfriend normally doesn’t eat oysters but ate 8/12 of them! Our waitress was amazing too but I can’t remember her name.
Daniel Woodard
Dusty’s is by far my favorite oyster bar in PCB! They oysters are always good and not to mention the wings are some of the best I have had. Bee prepared for a wait as they get busy as soon as they open. Enjoy a drink on the back porch and admire the turtle hanging out in the lagoon in the back!
Jessica Obitts
We had to visit this place twice on our mini vacation because the food was absolutely delicious! Try the Jalapeño baked oysters, fried green tomatoes and the Crab legs, you will not regret it! 😋 The food is definitely worth the wait...(there will be a line but it moves along quickly) so do not leave! Give them your name, buy a drink and hang out until they come find you and lead you to the table.
Anna Tesdahl
Although the wait was long, it was surely worth it. We were able to order drinks while we waited for a table and take them to the back porch. Food is available for $1 to feed the wildlife out back. Lots of turtles out the day we were there! The service was great, everyone was so nice! Our food came out quickly after we placed our order. Very fresh and tasted amazing.

A popular spot in PCB so if you want to wait as little as possible you'll need to come right when they open. If not you could be waiting 1-2 hours like we did. We were prepared for a wait so it wasn't an issue and visiting the dollar story next door is fun. The oysters are GREAT and as someone who typically favors smaller oysters from the north east these were bigger and delicious. We also ordered some food that wasn't fried such as the gumbo which was also good. If in the area it's a must!

One place that definitely works up an appetite. The food is absolutely delicious. Dig in and make those oysters your friends 😆 🤣 😂

Best place for oysters on Panama City Beach!! Also the best Crab Claws we had during our time during our time in Florida!! Service was great and quality of the seafood outstanding and the beer cold. We go to Dusty’s every time we are on Panama City Beach!
David Jones jr
Delicious. Portions on the smaller side and the shrimp could stand to be a little bigger. Clam chowder had way too much potato and very little clam... but we had no problems finishing anything! Would love to give the menu another shot.
Dave Campbell
Christian sucks!!! The worst bartender since the guy who wouldn't refill Jesus's Holy Grail! I'm mean the guy had a grueling day ahead of him and he can't get more wine?! WTH? I'll probably will go back tomorrow but I'm an idiot. Good luck! This place and Christian are great. Really fresh oysters and extremely cold beer.
Matt Hocutt
Finally a place that has good service along with great food. That's a tough combo with tons of people, but this place did a great job even with a large group. Baked oysters were fantastic! Crab claws, great.... all food was great, well done Dusty's!
Kevin Wright
Loved the oysters and the oyster stew. The atmosphere is awesome. My wife got the fish sandwich. It was a very generous piece of fish. I stole a bite. It was terrific. Just as a tip, they give a discount for cash. Almost all the restaurants have a cash price that was about 2.5% cheaper.
Caitlin Sirmans
10/10 Recommend Dusty’s Bar & Grill!! The parking is limited and the outside looks questionable BUT inside is like a whole new atmosphere. Even though it was packed (was told a 45 min wait) we were seated within 25! The service was amazing & the food!! I had a scallop dinner and added a 1/2lb steamed oysters. Went around 6pm, had a wonderful experience.

Frequent customer over many years through owner n management changes. The last time seemed the worst. Finally tried again, not bad, but jot near the same. Shrimp were food but very salty. The ham overcooked n used to spinach being fine, not chunks on the Rockefeller oysters. And the oysters were tiny tiny. Update Sep 30, 2023. Went back to try once again. Old habits are hard to break, lol. Didn't do oysters or shrimp this time. We got sandwiches. My club was great, fries kinda old. Friend got the Philly and then got another batch of fresh French fries. It had a good flavor. The Dusty burger was not like the older days, but it was ok. Draft beer was... well, I ordered ice for mine. Waitress was very nice but seemed rushed.
Jay Rankin
Bartender was awesome. Great dive bar with ice cold beer and some of the biggest fresh oysters I've ever seen! Had all the fixings you could want. Shrimp burrito was more like two small tacos rolled like a burrito, but great flavor. Popcorn shrimp by the pound for the kids, which tasted like fresh breaded shrimp not just dumped out of a bag and heated up.

Gave a one because there is no Zero. Will never never ever go back to this place. Extremely rude staff. the site says open until 11:00. Drove almost an hour to get there. Arrived at 8:45 and they said they decided to close at 9:00. It was not even 9:00 and they would not even give us the opportunity to order a sandwich to go. Never again. So rude. There's so many other good restaurants in PCB....will NEVER go here again. EVER
Stephanie Tyson McCugh
Tried it on a whim before our flight out. Best decision of our trip!! Sat at back bar and watched them shuck oysters while we ate and visited with them. Ordered chicken fingers and pound of peel n’ eat shrimp. Amazing!! Even the chicken fingers were great! Can’t wait to visit again on next trip.
Cvec
Loved it! I’m always on the hunt for a good dive bar- and this definitely delivered. It has a unique atmosphere for sure- and our food was awesome. Came with a big group, and everyone left happy. Tried cooked oysters for the first time, and I was pleasantly surprised. I highly recommend the crab claws! Will definitely be back on my next trip to PCB.
Cassidy Ingraham
Good, decently priced food. The atmosphere is definitely interesting. The oysters were pretty good, and the food came with huge portions. Overall, it was a good dinner.
Paula Cockrell Vickers
Oysters were good and the service was average but the seafood plate was overcooked and when we complained to our server she just said "Sorry you didn't like it" and walked away.
Maddy Danz
We got two dozen oysters at Dusty's: 12 steamed and 12 Rockefeller. This was my first time having oysters and they were AWESOME! Carrie was our waitress and she was super fun and nice. We want to come back tomorrow!!
Steve
We had fabulous meals, two days in a row! Best food in town. Fresh oysters and seafood, the blackened scallops are to die for. The nicest most professional staff, come see Mama for a full belly.
Elliot Gray
Yummy!
Delicious food, fairly priced, great service, laid back atmosphere👍🏽👍🏽 Try the burritos, wings, raw oysters- the back deck is nice to sit on when the weather is great.
Danny Radulovic
Amazing little place to grab lunch and drinks.. there is always a long wait but it is definitely worth it. Food is perfect and can't forget about the drinks. Friendly staff and a great place to enjoy the day with friends and family.
Tracy Davis
I do not go to PCB without going here several times while I'm here, the oysters are the very best and the atmosphere is awesome. Just know you have to try the raw oysters.... Love this place...
Kellie Teas Stepnowski
A fabulous unpretentious hole in the wall. Great place for fresh oysters , a beer, a lively waitstaff and just a great time. Belly up to the bar , order a dozen and watch them be shucked fresh.. It's definitely a no frills place.. So leave the attitude and expectations at the door. Always a 5* in my book.
Michael
We had gone there for lunch yesterday (8/4/16), Although it was packed, we were seated promptly at the bar, where Nicole took care of us immediately. We had fish and chips ($8.99), crawfish sandwich ($8.99) and grouper sandwich ($9.99) and tea. The wait was not very long, considering that there were a lot of people. But when the food arrived, it was hot and fresh. The sandwiches were huge and came with a generous side of fries, which were equally fresh and hot. The total bill for the three of us came to less than $34.
ISOtheperfectbite
Absolute biggest and freshest oysters I've eaten. From Seattle to Nola to Miami. It doesn't get any fresher than watching them shuck them and then serve them.
R&j
Came here to escape hot afternoon on the beach. What an awesome experience! My husband and I sat at the shucker bar. It was neat to watch them shucking oysters. Everything tasted so fresh! We had the jalapeños and seafood oysters as well as blackened crab claws. All was delicious!
David Fincher
First off, this place is a dive and proud of it. Seemed to be a good mix of locals and tourist there indulging in drinking, feeding the turtles, and singing bohemian rhapsody at full volume. Oysters were huge and the shrimp po boy was nicely seasoned. Appetizers sampler needs work, no salt and bland. But, you shouldn't be going for the jalapeño poppers anyway... I'll be going back.
BAnOK
Husband and I ate here today. Our waiter, Jameson, was attentive and had an excellent personality. Shrimp better than Red Lobster. Would eat here again.
Semaj
This place is highly recommended by the locals as the absolute best place for oysters and other seafood. The entire place is uniquely decorated with dollar bills (literally) EVERYWHERE from various patrons/tourists marking their visit. After an extended wait to be seated, we ordered & shared Dusty's Seafood Adventure, a fried platter of fish, shrimp, clams, scallops and much more. The food was decent, nothing spectacular and the service was quite slow, but understandable at lunch time. Sorry Dusty's, but you didn't make it to my "must return" list.
Food4Thought
I can not go to Panama City Beach and not go to Dusty's! If you like or love oysters, then you will not be disappointed. I believe they shuck more oysters then any other restaurant in the Panhandle and they are brought in fresh daily from Apalachicola! I get mine raw, but they come steamed, fried and baked (probably 8-10 different ways) with delicious toppings. They also have crab claws (fried are awesome), shrimp, all kinds of seafood, burgers and chicken. I also highly recommend the smoked fish dip, onion rings, mozzarella sticks, and fried green tomatoes.
Chelsea Williams
We have not a single complaint about this place! By far the best oysters in the area, best I've ever had. Very fresh. Everything in the seafood adventure was delicious. The scallops and clam strips are amazing. Our server was very very good and super friendly. We actually didn't mind sitting at a table across from others, aside from the couple across from us talking about whether or not my sister was ours or adopted.. pretty rude as we were sitting only 4 feet apart. But that is not their fault. (: No doubt we will be returning every year when we come home for vacation!
Carly
Great atmosphere. Great food. You can put a dollar on the wall with your name and read all the other names that people have left which is super fun.
Tara
Love the baked oysters (which version? ALL of them!). The raw oysters are good too. Their fried mushrooms rock. I'm a ranch dressing snob, but theirs is tasty. The beer is ice cold and the service is always great.
Maizee Black
I have so much love for this place! Oysters are amazing raw or baked with toppings. The tuna dip is excellent. My family goes here at least twice every PCB trip. Go here if you're looking to have some good food and a good time.
Austin Brown
Love the oysters. We were told that everywhere get the same oysters but Dusty's does something to them. The environment is kid friendly unless 2-4pm (happy hour) and post 8pm because it's a bar.
Gourmet.Gwen
Best oysters in town For Sure!! Apalachicola-- the best. Also had fried oysters and Dusty's Baked. Fried were best we have had. Going back ASAP!

Capt. Jack Berthy. I've eaten oysters all the way from Clearwater, Florida to New Orleans for years. This trip had oysters at Perry ,Fl ,St. Joe and Dustys here PCB. Best Appalachicola Oysters I've ever had here at Dustys ! I had 3 dozen yesterday and going back today for more.I use to buy them for $10 a bushel. Those days are gone. But Dusty prices are good.Big local hangout. All the help is very friendly and attentive to customers !
I've been eating Appalachicola Oysters for 55 years and I'm still here !
Capt Jack
Largo,Fl

Two thumbs down. Disappointing. Food was far from fresh. Service was poor. Waited over an hour to be seated at a shared table with strangers. Table didn't allow for conversation with friends. Had to pay for water. Wth! Pass up this joint and go see Dallas at the Sandbar!
Vickie_swenson
Oysters!. I ATE MY FIRST OYSTER HERE!!!! 11/31/2011 ! BEAN made it for me!!He is not there any more ! But now i love to eat them!!
Allison_elaine
Relaxed atmosphere. Dusty's was busy but (not too busy) even off-season, even early. The parking lot is old oyster shells. And the oysters inside were delicious. A dozen raw were $9.99. They have an "ankle biters menu" and didn't seem too put out by kids. We went early in the day, so it wasn't rowdy, but I could see how it would get pretty fun later in the evening. We went twice already this week. The scallops po boys were good as were the fried pickles. I love Florida!
Saintly1777
Price increase. I moved to Panama City Beach in 2009 and have been eating at Dustys ever since, but.... A dozen baked oysters used to cost $7.99 until 2011 (menu picture available here). Now they are "mkt price"?? What does that mean? Is there a shortage of oysters I am not aware of? $11.99 a dozen for baked oysters in a biker bar is too pricey for me.
Dinkydow9660
Dusty's Oysters (Baked with Parm Cheese, Bacon Bits and Onions). Delicious the best flavors
Double D
Great place that even the locals enjoy. Clean nice atmosphere and great food. Oysters are phenomenal.
Robin Collins
Love the oyster bar dive atmosphere. Raw oysters were little small but good. Shrimp were huge and the seafood adventure was huge but little too much breading on fish for my personal taste but still great. Great server. Worth the visit.
Sallybrooks0726
Great food, beach ambiance,. I had the crab/shrimp cakes...yum. My husband had Dusty's Sampler Platter and it too was yummy. I tried the scallops and oysters and both were wonderful. I would definitely go back there!
Logic48
Not Great. We went last week at lunch time. Fairly crowded for the off season. We had high hopes, since it was a hole in the wall and those usually have surprising good food. Music was too loud and the food wasn't that great. We ordered fried shrimp and chicken fingers. The shrimp and chicken fingers were ok, but the fries and hushpuppies weren't good at all. The server was busy, but she did try to make sure we were taken care of, which was a plus.
Ashley Anthony
Great little place. The food prices are great. I tried the fried pickles and po boy which was wonderful. Be wary of the drink prices, other than that we had great service.
Ljreg1
Sat at the bar to reduce wait time. Great service, big oysters. Great price. 9.99 for a dozen. Labor day weekend
Julie G.
BEST Oysters on the beach!
Lee Finch
We heard good things about this place from neighbors. It was far from the truth. Service was excellent but the food was horrendous. Very greasy and terrible overall. We won't be back
Kimberly
Loved the Fun atmosphere.. No wait ..we sat at the bar & they shucked oysters right there! Good fresh oysters!! Good hot wings!
Brittany Purvis
We never leave PCB without eating here!
Andrea Stevens
Frog legs!!!!!! And the oyster po boy! Great food, great service and reasonable prices.
Aladamabama
Not worth the wait!!!. Should of went with the reviews for this place but heard this place was good for oyster so decided to try. Waited for 2.5 hours to be seated after being told it would only be an hour or so. After being seated and ordering it took another hour before we received our food. The oysters were not good, didn't even look good. To me if you are gong to have a long wait the food better be outstanding and there should be some kind of compensation for it. I am not looking for a free meal but damn a 4 hour wait is absurd. I will never go back to this place again even if it was free. This place is really not for kids either with all the drunk people inside. Come on man have some respect. I recommend going to Shuckums much better place for me.
Brad Walker
Waited for an hour for a table but the wait was worth it. Small space but good food and great oysters. Our waitress, Eliza, was attentive and very nice. Great place to go at PCB!
Missharper1672
Booking AWESOME. Me and three friends came and didn't want to leave great people fun place great food.

Shout outs to the bartender CASEY awesome
Guy!

Can't wait to come back and go again!
Julie Ann Stratton
We just tried Dusty's this past week after many visits to PCB. We will definitely eat here many more times when we return. One of the best priced places we have been to. The Dusty's Baked Oysters, fried scallops, and seafood nachos were delicious. And you have to try the pecan cobbler. Amazing. We ate there again our last day just so I could have dessert again.
Realist_98
Service was HORRENDOUS. Food was average at best. We received out food in stages...my daughter and I after an hour, the rest of my family at 20 and 30 minute intervals after that, however, we ordered at the same time. The wait staff was snotty, the wait was too long. Overall bad experience. One of the worst I have had in PCB
Luckychic0486
WORST EXPERIENCE !!!!!!!!!!. Our experience was horrible. It began with a 2hour wait. We decided to grab a drink at the bar while we waited. The bartender was very rude. That was only the beginning of the horrible service though. After the waitress took out order, she didn't come back to the table to refill etc. until an hour later when we asked someone else where she was. Yes, an hour after we ordered no refills or even food yet. Finally we got our food an hour and a half after ordering and we told the waitress we were upset and asked to see a manager. The manager never came. She came back and offered us 10% off our bill. But the manager never even came and spoke to is at all. The food was cold when we got it. My dad ordered a grouper platter. When he got his plate, which by the way was after everyone else had there's for about 5 minutes, it was the fish and that's it. No sides just fish on a plate. Oops forgot to mention our appetizer came ok out about an hour after we ordered it. The waitress was horrible, food terrible, overall worst meal in Florida I've ever had!!!!!!!!!!!! Oh and my 6 year old daughter fell asleep at the table and didn't get to eat because we had to wait so long. I keep thinking of more. The bad things go on and on. I am very dosappointed
Jcdawson19
Try the local brew.. The local brew, 30A is a very good beer. Oysters were OK, and the wings were well seasoned. My wife want too impressed with the shrimp Po boy. Our waitress was very nice and friendly.
Diane Adlington
Been there a few times "where's Butterbean" he got me to try my first oyster, made up my shell and everything. Asked where he was nobody would say anything!
Wkt
Couldn't get seated. Standing 6ft from the checkin said they called us twice...they did not. Food was expensive left still hungry
Melissarandle8
Crazy Long Wait - to be seated & for food. I love Dusty's! I was dreaming of going back since we ate there last year because the baked oysters are so good! I have been going for several years now & the food is amazing but the servers are not nice at all. Grilled or fried scallops are amazing. Blackened grouper sandwich is also great. The baked oysters are the best ever though. You can get your food to go! We did the to go thing this year because the wait is so bad. People waiting to be seated were pretty envious & a bit angry yo see me leave with to bags of amazing food -- without having to wait!!
Nola381
Couldn't get seated. In fairness, I probably shouldn't be writing a review because I didn't actually get to eat here. I TRIED to eat here and walked out after they failed to acknowledge my presence. Showed up at dinner time (my mistake to go so late, 7pm, with kids) and found: a few picnic tables outside, all taken with people who looked like they had been there a long time, and none of them had food or drinks yet. Others were just sitting or leaning and waiting to get in. Inside there were 10 people all standing just inside the door waiting to be helped, checked in, or seated, and no hostess was in sight. I waited by the hostess podium for a few minutes and looked around, trying to judge for myself if the place could accommodate a group of six. I decided they couldn't. There was a bar with barstools, all taken. Some people just standing around trying to eat oysters and drink. A roar of noise from the crowd. There were some wooden booths in back, not sure how many because the place was so crowded. Saw an empty table that needed to be bussed and it just sat there, while people just sat outside waiting for it. I figured that if I decided to wait for a waitress or hostess to ask me "How many?" I'd end up being told to go wait outside with the other 30 people who were waiting outside, so I left and don't plan to return.
Shirley Davis
What the heck? Wait 2 hrs and then they tell us there is a 30 minute wait for oysters. Isn't it an oyster bar?
Lesliebham
Unless all other oyster places are bad.... ...I'm not sure what is special here. After waiting forty five minutes for a table, our hostess, who never once smiled or looked pleasant, said "they will get to you eventually". Spotty service from too few waiters. When a place under staffs, how can you blame the waiters? They did the best they could. Oysters were large and fresh but we are on the Gulf. The sandwiches were disappointing to our crew, as were the " world famous" fried green tomatoes. These were very greasy, as were the onion rings. But the onion rings were seasoned with a tasty batter so that made them decent. Drinks were not refilled in a timely manner at all(once again, manager? Saturday JUST MIGHT BE A BUSY DAY) but they were trying. Boneless wings were spiced well but arrived cold. Baked oyster sampler had twelve oysters in three varieties. Six were uneaten because no one liked them. I don't believe that this is the best Oyster Bar in PCB and we are taking the week to find better. The proverbial dollar bills stapled from ceiling to floor is the decor and, for an oyster bar, was tolerable. The jukebox was annoyingly loud but it might have been due to our table location. Hostess spent lots of time finding and playing songs she liked.too bad non of them made her smile.
Terry S
My wife and I love thus place. Located on the West end of PCB this little jewell has good oysters but some if the BEST fried shrimp! I always order up a dozen baked casino oysters and a pound of fried shrimp. Very relaxed atmosphere. Highly recommend.
Amanda Gibson
I came into Dusty's memorial day 2014 and Brittany was our server. Our food took a little while because of how many people were there but Brittany was awesome! Probably the best server I've ever had. As a server myself she did a great job making sure we were taking care of and happy, she was extremely friendly and made us feel very welcome. Would definitely recommend her!
Matt's Girl
This place is by far the best place to go for raw oysters. My boyfriend and I go to Panama every year and have tried oysters at quite a few establishments. None can come even close to the quality you get at Dusty's. And their prices are extremely reasonable so you just can't go wrong. There is a reason they always have a line out around the building of people waiting to get inside.
Larry Suttles
Damn good beach place. Go to have fun, food is great when ya get it,stop bitching about the wait ,you are part of the reason ,too many people want in.......no other place down here is like it,,,,,,go straight to the bar ,fine a seat....work the system......
Gina
Nothing special. Over fried and the grilled seafood was over salted. If you order the wings be prepared to eat them after everyone else has finished. Beer selection is lame. The staff was nice and I liked the atmosphere but won't go back again.
Berry8954
Not good eats. I'm not sure why anyone goes here. Food is not good, prices are high for what you get. There are much better places to eat.. but, if you just want to go to a dive and drink.. and, maybe, you don't even care after a few beers and the wait what the food taste like.
Lindellbc
For Oysters, go here. This place is great and so much fun.

Try the wings, they are excellent. Oysters are cheap. Soft Shell crab po-boy is a treat. Best of all- the smoked tuna dip. Everywhere on the beach buys their dip from one person, Dusty's makes their own and by far the best.
Mega101
1/29/2014. Just a thank you to Dusty's Oyster bar.
The food was great. First time I had raw oysters in my entire life but I have to say
I definitely would have raw oysters again. The waitress was also great.
Enjoyed the conversations with the champion of eating oysters also.
Everything was on time and no wait. Just a very pleasurable time to remember.
Thank you again and anyone who has not been to Dusty's is missing it .
Donna from NH
Cathywilliams5
Cathy. By far our favorite place! Blackened scallops, shrimp, grouper all delicious. The onion rings are terrific! The chocolate marshmallow bomb is "the bomb!" New and old friends make the atmosphere complete.
Sapperaviator
Awesome. Its small, but a nice place to eat near the beach. The drinks were cheap and the oysters were perfect and well priced. If you get impatient waiting, its not for you. If you don't mind waiting for great food and service when you do get a table you will be glad you did.
Rduke
Excellent experience. We vacationed in PCB for Thanksgiving week and meet a friend at Dusty's. The food and service was so good, we came back 5 more times before heading back home.
Heather
Super loud rough looking bar, overwhelming bad fish smell. Decided not to risk it.
Tim Schweighardt
Loved the food...especially the oysters Rockefeller, service was great, and it has a really fun atmosphere was lots of fun. Our 1 year old danced the whole time we were there!
Asherril7785
Horrible service. Upon arrival told no tables available so put our name on the list for a table. A group of 3 came in behind took bar seat then complained and got the table that wasn't available ahead of us. Put in an order for 2 dozen raw oysters and a burger as soon as seated. 30 minutes later got burger and finally after finishing that received our tiny oysters. Went ahead and put in an order for a 3rd dozen and 40 minutes later still had no oysters. Waitress was very rude and gave us a lot of attitude when we cancelled the order and asked for the check. Husband had to still go get food elsewhere. I would never return after this experience. Shucking has much larger oysters, faster service and polite staff who treat customers right.
Mandy
Freaking awesome food!!! The fried scallops are amazing! I could've ate here every night for the rest of my vacation just for the scallops! This place is a hole in the wall and there's not a lot of parking around it. The music is extremely loud and our waitress wasn't very nice but the food is worth going for! I ordered the 1lb of scallops its only $2 more than the scallop sinner since I don't eat Cole slaw and fries and the scallops are large and you get a TON of them!!!!! Trust me you want to try this place if you haven't!
Noel Smith
Love this place!! Thank you Eliza for such great service!
Eric
I hate to repeat everyone else, but their reviews are dead on. We were told it would be a 40 min wait. It ended up being an hour and a half wait (with a 9 month old baby). It seriously was worth the wait though. I got fried scallops. Everyone at our table love their food, including myself. I wouldn't say our waitress was rude, but she wasn't friendly by any stretch of the imagination. And oh yea, this place is extremely loud inside. With the few negatives this joint has, I will still go back every time I'm in PCB.
Shellz
GREAT food. GREAT service. GREAT atomoaphere. Couldn't be more pleased!!
Katy
Long wait. Host was rude to my father and grandma sitting at a table. Minding their own business. Father was also holding my 2 year old niece. Yelled at them to move. Food wasn't anything exciting. Not worth the price they charged. Atmosphere wasn't bad though, a drinking kind of place
Debralg123
Longggggggggg wait. Have been going to Dusty's a long time...the wait gets longer and longer and longer. Not worth the time to wait any more. Last visit we were told a 1 hr wait. Seemed like they were more interested in the teens getting seated than the older people. Waited 2 1/2 hours until my husband had a come apart. Love the food! Hate the wait. :-( And the hostess that night absolutely had no idea what she was doing. LOL
Jennie Burns
Awesome food, service & people!. Absolutly Amazing!!! My husband and I LOVE LOVE Dusty's!! We both suggest the raw and baked oysters and also adding jalapeño's if you like a little heat. Nothing is a bad choice here!
Get the loaded fries for the kids. It is a fairly long wait sometimes, but it soooo worth it!! We live in PCB and we eat at Dusty's once a week. That's how good it is, really!

Don't waste your time. This is a two--visit review. We have been here numerous times, before, but the last two are quite memorable. Both were this month. First off, let me say that I do understand that it is peak season.

Both times, the evenings started out great. Yes, it was a long wait, but a few beers and a beautiful sunset, who can complain about that? On the first of our recent visits we were finally seated and ordered appetizers. They arrived at our table 25 minutes later. It was tuna dip and cheese sticks. Our order is taken and it's another 45 minutes before our food arrives. We also had to continuously get up from our table and retrieve our drink orders from the service bar after trying to be as patient as we possibly could. We were with another couple who were visiting so we went all out and got dessert...which arrived another 25 minutes later.

Now, don't get me wrong. I doooooo understand it was busy that night, and that everything is made fresh, but by this time it is 9:30 pm on a Sunday night and the restaurant is beginning to clear out. When we addressed our concerns with our server, she told us that it was the kitchen's fault and there was nothing she could do about it. You would think this story ends here, right?

Well I decided that a manager should be aware of the situation. I approached the hostess stand and asked for a manager. I was told there was NONE THERE THAT NIGHT! While I found this incredulous, there was no dog to be had in a fight when an employer tell you there is no one that can help you. So we packed up and began our departure. Luckily there was another employee standing behind the hostess who overheard the conversation and went and GOT THE MANAGER who caught up with us in the parking lot. I was impressed by this, so that brings us to last night.

After the typical wait, the same hostess from our previous visit seats us. You know, Miss "No Manager on Duty." Our server was brand new, but quite sweet and she did a good job overall. We ordered raw oysters - good. We ordered baked oysters - not so good. They looked like they had been hanging out under the lights for a while. So, we sent them back noting that they "just weren't warm" anymore. A few moments later our server re-appears....with the same oysters reheated!!! I do not believe this to be her fault. Sure, she might have noticed, but I put this blame squarely on the kitchen. Why would you even do that? So, we kindly asked that the order be replaced with a fresh batch and it was. Thank you. About 30 minutes later our food came out. Salad, soup, entree, all at once!

The other big disappointment, the side salad. $2.99 for a handful of iceberg lettuce in a Styrofoam bowl and a few sprinkles of shredded cheese. That by itself wouldn't even be noteworthy, but given everything else, buyer beware.

If you want to sit at the bar or outside and have a few beers with some raw oysters or wings (which happen to be very good by the way), then you will survive. It's a really good place for that. The oyster shuckers are super nice and your experience will be good. For anything beyond that, I'd spend your time and money elsewhere.

Went for a rainy lunch. Me and my parents went there for lunch on July 14th, 2013.

We arrived at a little before 1 and were greeted with a slap full restaurant and a pretty healthy line, which only got longer as we waited. we ended up waiting for about an hour, but we suspect the fact that it was a bit rainy at the time made it a little worse than usual as people were looking for something to do until the rain subsided. But as usual you can't go much of anywhere in PCB without a wait.

Once we were seated our waitress was there almost immediately to take our order and was frequent in checking up on us, although it is kind of hard to avoid doing so seeing as how the place is tiny. Nevertheless we were a bit of a hassle as I was a bit overzealous with the horseradish and pestered her for refills, but she was still all smiles.

I had a dozen raw oysters, which were brought to me right away with all the fixings. The oysters were of a good size and shucked right at the oyster bar not teen feet from where I sat. My parents both had the clam chowder in a bread bowl which was scrumptious.

All in all, if you don't mind waiting (and if you're eating in PCB, you really can't mind) then this is a nice place to go for lunch, and I would imagine the same for dinner.

Had the oyster sampler. It looked good, but the oysters they had were funny tasting, pretty sure they got them off the sysco truck in the parking lot. They werent good like in louisiana, but it was ok. Service was not that great, took 35 mins to get fried pickles, and another 30 mins to get oysters. Idk if i would return. Hunts was wayyyyy better!

Dusty's is slipping. I'm sad to write this, but we are now looking for a new favorite oyster bar. We've been coming to PCB several times a year for years now, all the way from WA (state). We fell in love with Dusty's the first time we happened by: the crushed oyster shell parking lot, the bartender with the megaphone voice, the surly shuckers & friendly servers -- and above all the amazing baked oysters. Over the years we have introduced many friends and family from WA to this gem.

All that has been replaced with heavy carding, obnoxious cymbal banging and a men's bathroom so disgusting that even the men are talking about it. Ok, to be fair, the servers are still great and the oysters are still delicious, although they are no longer the bargain they once were.

Our last visit was two nights ago. When the three of us walked in for our son's 17th birthday the hostess told me "It shouldn't be too long... Not right away but not very long." turns out that translated to nearly TWO HOURS' wait!

After about an hour my husband and son were ready to go. I really didnt want to leave because I felt like -- after waiting that long -- they'd call our name as soon as we hit the parking lot.

We stood around drinking beer after beer and pop after pop, trying not to be in the way, having to listen to the bartender whacking the cymbal every few minutes. Granted it was a holiday week and very busy, but like the other reviews said: very inefficient.

We stood and watched several tables sit empty way too long before the hostess called the next name. At one point we saw a busser take one load of plates away from two nearby tables but never returned for the rest.

After 20 minutes we began clearing the table ourselves -- hoping it would move the list wuicker. We were told they only had one clearer and that was the hold up. How dumb that you can't turn tables because you let them sit empty and dirty.

The hostess -- the one with the problem telling the truth -- scurried over with a broom and began angrily sweeping under the tables. I got the distinct impression we had personally offended her by pointing out the issue.

Finally, two hours after we had placed our name on the list no joke, we were seated. Our server was sweet and hustled to give us good service, but because they were so far behind our oysters were not baked but raw beneath the barely melted cheese. At that point we hardly cared we were so hungry.

We ordered a pitcher and another round of baked. Now we're digging into the reviews to start hitting the streets for another west end oyster bar. Will we be back?
Probably, but never if it is at all busy. Sorry Dusty's but you are too popular to suit us anymore.
Captain Jeff
Not recommended. Used to be our favorite place on the beach, but unfortunately we won't be back. They've recently hung cymbals from the ceiling and insist on banging them every 5 seconds. You can't even carry on a conversation for the constant banging. I love the food, but in the future, you'll find me at Shuckum's--the foods just as good, the oysters are just as good, and the noise level is tolerable.

Long wait. Rude waitresses. Poor service. Food was good but not good enough to put up with the service. I will definitely not be going back.

Good food?. Another tourist trap.... Over priced and small portions. I had a fish dinner plate. And what a joke, fish good, but the fries sucked, cole slaw awfull, hush puppies awfull. Smallest portion of fish you could imagine. Wish I had a fish sandwich from a fast food place..... It would have been better and 1/5th the price.
Bob
This place was Ok. The oyster platters are well worth the money. I had the scallop dinner. For 17 99 I was a little disappointed that you only get about 10 scallops the size of a dime.
Carol Woodard
We love it!. We meet friends there a couple of times every year food is great...esp. the oysters. Busy , but worth the wait. Good COLD beer!!!
David M.
We tried to go on a Saturday during spring bike week, but the wait was 1 hr. 45 minutes plus. Just went today, Sunday, at the end of bike week... 45+ minute wait.

The raw oysters were HUGE and tasty. Appetizers were served barely warm at best. The waitress served the wrong main courses first, but corrected the error.

Fried shrimp and clams were good, but not near as good as Hunt's. Hunts is still my favorite, period.

Having to ask twice for forks, horseradish and the less than warm appetizers was a turn off. I'll go back, but only IF Hunt's happens to be closed that day...

Food was awesome! Our "ugly waitress" Chris blew away any waitress we have ever had! Beautiful, funny, and made our experience amazing! Wish we had servers like her in the North. Would definitely recommend this place to anyone. Great time!
Lillie Graber
Not really sure why it only has one $ because Dusty's is a little bit more on the pricey side. I have been coming here for year and the wait it always long but the food is Devine! Highly recommend the Dusty's baked!!
Jennifer L
THE worst seafood nachos ever!!! 45 minute wait and then expected to share a table with strangers. The food was disgusting!

Ridiculously happy. First ever trip to Dusty's over spring break this past week (March 28th). Place was packed so we sat on the back deck. Our server (Chrissy, I think) was outstanding, and the 2 1/2 doz. raw and 2 doz. "seafood" baked (with parmesean) oysters we downed were screaming fresh, flavorful and dirt cheap. Had a pitcher of craft ale on the side, and also blackened scallops and fried shrimp. Everything was fantastic. Cannot wait to go back.
Sharyn
Absolutely the Best Fried Shrimp. It's a dive but the atmosphere is lively. I would make the trip to Panama City Beach just to have another order of their fried shrimp.
Cathi Lou Allen
Every time we are in PCB this is the only place worth going. The food is always excellent when we go cooked perfectly. The oysters are so fresh and flavorful absolutely the best.
Erin Marie
This place is so good! I'm not a sea food person so I ordered Dusty's burger with American and cheddar cheese and it was perfect! Dessert is on the way! I would totally come back!!
Bill Floyd
Where Is Bob. Anyone know where the bartender Bob went?
Tom
One of My Favorites. Have been to Dusty's many times. Like to sit in the back to avoid the crowds and enjoy the atmosphere. Great food and service. Have tried many different items on the menu and all are good. Dropped credit card from balcony on Feb. 23, 2013, and staff went out of their way to retrieve it and send it to me in Knoxville . Thanks Jenna and all.

Best in PCB. Tried this place while in PCB last year....Great food! A pretty good selection - and definitely the best price too! Tried 4-5 other seafood places and Dusty's was by far the best for the $$. Great atmoshere for having a couple of beers during a break from the beach.....
Only place comparable was a real nice place in Panama City - but it was more upscale.
Jeanie
