Mike's became a frequent haunt for my family during our vacation on Laguna Beach. My parents went almost daily for oysters. My sister raved about the breakfast. I only made it down one time but I really enjoyed my fried grouper sandwich on that visit. Very casual interior with friendly staff. Would go again.
Our little waitress has a wonderful Southern dialect. Best fried green tomatoes and oh, the Seafood Gumbo. My wife had fried chicken. You can order sides for an extra $1.50. All-round great place. Don't expect too much beach front decor. We'd do it again!!
Very busy, very crowded, very GOOD! We ate here on 7/25/2016. My kind of restaurant: excellent service, excellent food, reasonable price! The decor was not impressive but the food was. We'll be back soon!
We ate here twice this week. Food was good and reasonably priced. Servers were great.
Mike was in the dining room tonight. Very gracious host. Loved the music too!
I'm from Louisiana and the garlic pepper baked oysters were hands down some of the best I have ever had. Fiancée said her Dungeness crabs were perfect! Will definitely be back next time we are in PCB.
Two times in two days. We may be hooked! Great value, great food, fantastic server! Ask for Harley! She is so much fun and rest of service staff fantastic. Clean, organized, fast! Smaller Kitchen, sometimes gets backed up. Sit back, relax, enjoy another draft! Not a wide selection {none of the trending craft), yet good enough! Cold and wet beer, strong run and cokes met out requirement and with 2 to 6 pm half price beer, wine and well.... We will return!
We ordered the mikes sampler and the steamer sampler. Both excellent! So much food for the price and perfectly prepared. You could easily pay double the money and get half as much food closer to the pier or in any other beach city on the east coast. Took half away as leftovers and we will go back for more!
We ate dinner here on July 4th, 2015. The Captains Steamer Platter was awesome! I would recommend the baked oysters also! The waitress was very good and we enjoyed the meal as well as the feeling of being in a local restraunt instead of a big chain where everything tastes the same.
Food was good. Baked oysters very good. Service was slow and seemed to be under staffed but the food was something I would definitely recommend.
Gem of Panama City Beach. Well priced seafood and well-rounded menu. Has a great local vibe. The service was excellent and very friendly. I'll be back!
Best shrimp and grits EVER! We also had the captain's platter and oyster sampler. The atmosphere isn't very beachy, but the service was great and the food was very good.

Absolutely awesome food!! Great service and family friendly. Had the crab au gratin which was delicious, but even the veggies were cooked to perfection. Very relaxed environment.
Food was excellent, what they don't show on this page with photos is that some of their menu items are baskets which is not a problem for me. Lots of different beers on tap. Service was spot on with friendly people. I know that its is supposed to be about the food but the sign on the door was a good indication that it was a decent place; I wont spoil it for you.
Loved this place. We tried another oyster bar to the east and were horribly disappointed. This is what I expect from an oyster bar. Loved the baked oysters with smoked Gouda and the raw oysters . Highly recommend this restaurant and this end PCB.
Best place on the beach!!!. I don't eat fish or seafood but my fiance does. She loves this place and there is always something that I really enjoy myself. The service is excellent and Mike is always thanking us for coming back. This is a local business and not one of the many chains that we have here in PCB. Mike and his staff really takes care of the customers from the time you enter to the time you leave.
Great service, great food!. We showed up 15 minutes before opening in the oyster bar. We were welcomed in and served immediately. Our waitress was very kind and attentive. The oysters were a little on the small size, but they were very fresh and flavorful. Overall it was a good experience!
Only place we ate worth noting. We only spent two days in PCB. We ate some much more expensive meals than at this place, but this is the only place worth writing anything about. We had the shrimp and oyster po'boys. Both were good. The shrimp was better. Service was good. The price was great. Worth a visit. Everything else we tried in PCB was very average.
Delicious breakfast! I was skeptical when my husband wanted to stop
at an Oyster Bar for breakfast, but it was really good home cooking. Will definitely go back on our next PCB vacation.
Very good food!!!! laid back atomsphere. This place was right across from our condo. The 2nd night we were there we tried it and it was amazing. I had the shrimp scampi and my fiance had the fried flounder. We had calamari for an appetizer which was the best calamari we had while we were in PCB. We also went there for brunch on the cafe side and it was delicious as well. I had biscuits and gravy, fried eggs and bacon. We will be going back the next time we visit PCB. Another thing I liked is that Mike, the owner, was out on the floor thanking people for coming and helping the servers.
New seafood fans. My wife and I love seafood. One visit to Mike's and our sons are fans of snow crab legs and shrimp. Family atmosphere, the owner was walking around chatting with people. Especially nice that it is on the quieter west end of PCB.
Great food...got the Shrimp Scampi, which was very tasty. Salad dressings appear to be house made, which is always a plus in my book. Also great oysters & Ruby Red Shrimp appetizer. Others in our group also had the PCB shrimp, which is made with a sort of creamy horseradish sauce, & that was also very delish. We will definitely be back!
Great service, great food. When we arrived, the staff were busy tending to other customers, so Mike came over and seated us himself. We had an appetizer of crab claws and I had the shrimp and grits. My wife had crab stuffed fish and it was all great!
Usually love Mike's but this time the waitress and bartender were not very attentive. Maybe because it was Sunday afternoon or because I was wearing one of their shirts and they didn't think they needed to work so hard.?. I don't know. Low country boil is good but over spiced this time. Oysters were huge. Could use better draft beer selection. We will be back but it will be awhile.
Fried shrimp is in a nice light better and was delicious. Waitress was terrific. Will go back again and again.
Went in 5 minutes before closing (9 pm), and ordered a pretty large amount of food. Everything was excellent, everyone loved what they got. Do yourself a favor and get the steamers! Service was awesome despite so close to closing and only a couple of waitresses working at that time.
Go here!
Check the Door (:P). First of all, there are two entrances: one for the cafe and one for the bar. Don't goof like me and go into the cafe when you want the oyster bar (woops). But since I was already there...tried the shrimp Po-Boy and it was great! More shrimp than I'd expected and lots of fries on the side. Waitress was awesome: all smiles and service.
Delicious! Quick seating and fantastic breakfast.
Great seafood and awesome homemade tasting cocktail sauce. The other servers were very nice however we got stuck with a server who wasn't friendly. But we didn't mind.
Great food.. Oysters were really fresh! Crab and shrimp quesadilla was awesome and my husbands Philly cheese was the best hes ever had. Service was a little slow at end but t was really busy so not too big of a deal at all. Friendly staff.
Great Food, Great Service. The best place we ate on vacation! The Spicy Beach Shrimp appetizer was one of the best things I ate on my entire vacation, and I wish I had ordered them as a meal! My dad ordered the steamed crab platter, my mom ordered the fried seafood platter, my little sister ordered crab legs, and my little brother ordered chicken wings, all were excellent. Even the salads were very good. When my little brother told the waitress his wings were too spicy (he is 6) she was very nice and asked if he would like something else. When he said he would rather just eat off our plates, she offered him a piece of key lime pie which more than made up for it! The waitress was very nice and kept our drinks full even though we were dry from the beach and emptied them quickly. We have added this place to our annual vacation "must eat" list. You must try the Spicy Beach Shrimp at least once! Great place for adults and kids alike.
We ate on the cafe side for lunch and found the food good and very reasonably priced. Portions were good size. I had a Grouper sandwich and my wife had Tilapia on their lunch special.
Ate here twice during our stay at PCB. Loved the beach shrimp appetizer and the baked oysters were outstanding.
OYSTERS! Yum!. The Mornay Oysters are addictive. Love this place.
Quiet, clean and the food is good.
I had the BBQ butter shrimp and cheesy grits. Yum! My husband had the fish tacos which were good. The calamari was good too as we're the raw oysters.
Great food. Good oysters, incredible catfish. Tried to go and it was packed a few days ago. Got there at 5 and sat down quickly. The seafood casseole was a little heavy but overall a good experience.
A wonderful Family Friendly oyster bar. Everyone there was friendly and the food there was incredible. Prices were very reasonable, especially with all the food you get. I recommend this for anyone who wants great seafood. A very good experience
Good diner food. I love the oyster burger. Great service and great people.
We vacation in PCB and Mike's always gets at least one breakfast stop per trip. Haven't eaten any other meals there but the breakfast is really good. My oldest daughter loves gravy biscuits and she loves those at Mike's. I agree with whoever said the bacon was good because they were correct about that...
Great Breakfast!. Well, tomorrow will be day 4 of eating Breakfast here! I've had their omelettes, pancakes(Heavy&thick), and the Beach Hash(Awesome! If you like cheese fries!). Coffee was great too. It's also very kid friendly! The ladies were very nice in listening to my 4 yr.old discuss her vacation plans!
Like moms kitchen. Just like coming home, everyone's friendly, service is fast and the coffee copious. Everything's good, SOLID diner food that makes your stomach happy.
Great breakfast spot. We had breakfast here twice while spending last week in Panama City Beach. It was a great, all-American style homecooked breakfast. Definitely recommend this place!

Great Meat & 3!. Tons to choose from....Everything fried is great and I could probably drink a whole vat of their sweet tea.
Great lunch place at the beach--I had a veg plate and salad--lots of locals eat here; several tourists know to eat lunch here!
We just sat at the bar and had some gumbo and a dozen Rockefeller oysters. It was AMAZING! The service was great, the food was great, and we were in and out of there really quick. I can't wait to go back!! Don't miss this place if you're in the area! Update: We went back twice more while there for the week because the food was so good. I had 3 different types of baked oysters over the week, and my favorite was Mike's Oysters. I didn't get another pic of those because we ate them so fast, but I did get pics of the shrimp and grits, and he just loved it! I had the seafood medley Cajun over liguini. It was the best!!! Mr. Thomas personally came to our table to ask if everything was good. Excellent restaurant!!! I'd give it 10 stars if I could.
We really enjoyed Mike's! Based on reviews, we decided to eat dinner here. Service by Tiffany was exceptional, food was all delicious. Our party of 6 (4 adults, 2 kids) ordered a variety of food and drinks. Kids had pizza and pasta, adults had red shrimp steamer, shrimp scampi pasta, chicken parm, and grilled chicken. Large portions and moderate prices. We went at 4pm, so no big crowd or wait. We'll definitely be back!
Went there on a weekend, and there was a decent wait time. As we were seated, they attended us immediately and served quickly. The food was good and the place was okay.
Fantastic Seafood! The Spicy Beach Shrimp was my FAVORITE. Everything we ate was so good. We met Mike! So cute. We had salads with homemade (delicious) ranch,
Steam Royal Reds (it was a lighter meal but really good), a 1st Mate Basket with catfish & Shrimp, hush puppies, & French fries. EVERYTHING was SO GOOD! And we were lucky enough to have Angie wait on us the one night a week that she is waiting tables. Other than that, you can find her tending bar. She was wonderful. We will DEFINITELY go back if we ever make it back (from Texas) to Panama City Beach, Florida.
Great spot for a quick lunch or a casual dinner. Oysters were $20 for a dozen, and they were DELICIOUS! Entrees are served with a side salad and 2 sides, which makes it a plenty of food, you’ll have boxes to take home. I loved sweet chili dressing for my salad. Seafood casserole was just average, grilled salmon was pretty good. Our waitress was very nice and attentive:) overall I loved it there and would recommend you to visit!
The fried shrimp was amazing. And the catfish was flaky. Loved the roasted potatoes. My husband had the seafood casserole. He liked it as well.
No way this place deserves less than 5 stars. Our wonderful server Lily, a future RN, recommended Royal Red Shrimp Steamer and it was not only amazing but very reasonably priced. The shrimp tasted like lobster just as she suggested. It also included a great salad. My son and I thought it was one of best meals we ever had.
Oysters on a half shell were awesome, we had gone to Dusty's oyster bar and oaid full price for oysters that were a quarter of the size of Mike's. This waitress suggested a half order to make sure its what we wanted. At Dusty's the waitress got offended and avoided our table cause we asked her why they were so small. Good food. And Alligator tale! Go here not Dusty's for your oysters!
Some of the best food I have is in quite some time. The atmosphere was relaxed and the employees were great. We plan to visit there again before we leave Panama City Beach.
Party of 4 everyone enjoyed their meal and service was great. We had raw oysters as an appetizer then I had fried shrimp basket. Son had fried fish basket - fish a lot better than I expected. MIL had Greek salad w/ shrimp (liked) and wife had shrimp & crab quesadilla, which she said was "just okay." I believe owner Mike was there and visited some tables. My only question is why all these restaurants keep adding the credit card fee vs building that into your cost structure? Feels like being nickel and dimed after dropping over a hundred bucks on dinner. Just saying.
First time to Mike's Cafe & oyster bar. BBQ butter shrimp and grits was delicious. Angie gave excellent service. Will be going back. Pina colada was very tasty.
Patricia our server was great! The royal red shrimp was Amazing!! Hands down the best shrimp I've ever had!! Gater bites was great as well!
We walked across the street from where we were staying to eat at Mike's. Another place that is worth the wait too! However, i highly recommend you go sooner rather than later. They open at 3:00, go early as you can because you will wait later in the evening. We waited outside for 2 hours!! My favorite the raw oysters on halfshell. We were party of 5 and everything was yum-yum. We had great food and friendly service. I went back two more times. We sat at the bar and enjoyed Oysters Rockefeller & Oysters on half shell. Absolutely delicious!! See you next trip!!
Place is awesome. Spicy shrimp taco and Mike creole redfish are to die for. The gumbo was a great appetizer. Grouper piccata pictured was good as well. Service was excellent and in May at 6:30 there was no wait. Be aware during peak summer wait time can be very long. Overall had a great experience.
We ended up eating here twice while on vacation. The first time I had the snow crab legs and 2 kinds of shrimp. Everything was delicious. The second time I had the grilled grouper. I enjoyed this dish as well. Both times we had the smoked tuna dip. I was hesitant to try it, but I'm glad I did. It was my favorite item I ate here. Service was excellent and I would recommend giving this place a try.
Had the neighborhood atmosphere, and service and customer service was the best.
Oysters were very good and would recommend. We had four and food for 3 was good. I had the salmon plate and could not eat. It was very over cooked, hard and extremely dry. Took home will try in a sandwich with lots of ketchup, might be eatable that way. Would not recommend, stay await from the Salmon plate. A waste of $25. But would recommend you try Mike's once to get the local flavor.
Great service AND food! So glad I took the time to read reviews! The Red Royal shrimp DO taste like lobster!! Yummm! We had a sampler of baked oysters. They were all good, but my favorite were the PCB - the horseradish hit right! The spicy beach shrimp were great, and I enjoyed the fresh side salad with homemade ranch. Our server, Tiffany, was kind and attentive. Very happy. Thank you!
Very highly recommended! Fresh Gulf oysters, huge royal reds, tasty roasted Brussels sprouts, and crab cake. Every dish was perfect, especially the crab cake, superb; meaty, flavorful, full with crab, not filler.
This was our second visit to Mike’s and we’ll definitely return. Mike’s is unpretentious and proud of its reputation as a straightforward seafood place. Popular with locals; next to us a table of 10, over there a family of 6, children ages maybe 6 months - 6 years; everyone seems happy and satisfied, including us. The ambiance is perfect for the venue, and I must mention the outstanding service, not only for us but also the other patrons. Again, I highly recommend Mike’s.
Fantastic food!!! First time trying baked oysters, they were delicious! Service was top notch! Will be back!
