Hook'd was pretty good as far as dining in a high traffic tourist area goes. I feel the fried shrip could have used a but more seasoning in the batter. I'm giving the service a three because I had to ask for ketchup three times. They eventually brought it to me me but not before I walked to another table to get it myself. Our server was really nice, and once our order was taken, the food came out quickly.
Atmosphere wise, it's great! You can sit outside by the water or inside, and they have all kinds of torches burning for ambiance. I'd come back again.

We try to visit this awesome beach side bar and restaurant everytime we come to the Panama City area. They just recently expanded and included more tables inside in the air conditioning if you don’t like the sea breeze and warmth and humidity that you get from the beach. The staff is fantastic and the food and drink menu is extensive with something for everyone. This trip that we went with the wraps as our personal favorites with the fish tacos a close second. All the drinks are amazing with many beach themed libations to make your day just a little bit better

It's your typical beach fare joint; nothing too fancy or incredible, but really not bad. Prices are really respectable and I thought the service was good.
The location is excellent; you can walk right up from the beach. Outdoor seating overlooking the pier and beach is pretty cool.

Though their menu was on the smaller side for being on a touristy street, I actually quite appreciate it. You can tell that Hook'd has been here for a while, and then deciding on keeping their menu relatively small means that they care about the quality of their food. You can definitely taste it too!
My partner and I had the catch of the day. I had mine fried, he had his blackened. You couldn't go wrong with either way, because both were delicious. Mine was perfectly fried, salted, and with the added lemon and tartar sauce, it was great. I could also taste how fresh it was as well! Their fries were good too.
My favorite part about this place is that dogs are allowed, so long as they are leashed and behaved. We don't get to bring our boy with us to many places, but I'm glad we got to bring him here. Our waiter even got him his own bowl of water, and our boy was definitely thankful.
Lastly, the service was wonderful. We had the kindest waiter who was super friendly, conversational, and informative. I feel bad because I forgot his name, but he was definitely one of the best waiters we've ever encountered.

We ate outside by the pier which was really nice. The food was extremely good. We got Mahi Mahi sandwich, shrimp teriyaki wrap, fish tacos and a burger. Would definitely eat here again.

My coworker and I really enjoyed this restaurant.
Food- The food was good. We both got bowls for dinner and dole whips for dessert. The bowls had lots of flavor and came out incredibly quick.
Service- Probably one of the best waiters we have ever had. His name was Dillon and he was efficient, checked on us, made recommendations and made us feel like he was an old friend in his style of communication.
Atmosphere- beautiful location and beach beach vibes. We sat outside and got to watch the sunset over the pier. You can’t beat that.

It was Memorial weekend & they still got us seated pretty quickly (about 30 minutes). We got outdoor seating at night, and it was a fun atmosphere. The drinks were yummy & the food was really tasty!! Everyone in our 8 person group, loved what they ordered. I got the fish tacos & the flavor was incredible!

We went here for Dole Whips and a margaritas in a pineapple...friendly staff. It seemed to take a little while to get service and to get tab, but it was like that all over in the south. Maybe us northerners are just too antsy to get a moving. I don't know. All in all I'd go back. It was a fun place.

Loved this little place! Right on the beach with a gorgeous view. We had the fried alligator tacos and grilled Mahi Mahi tacos. All delicious and fresh. I cannot remember our servers name (pregnancy brain) but he has worked there for 11 years. Him and the rest of the team had amazing team work to get everyone in and out as efficiently as possible. All the staff was super nice and friendly. We will be going back on our next trip. :)

The place is a gem. We went for lunch. The location right on the beach is nice. There is outdoor seating, but we we elected to sit inside so we could get seated right away, though we could still the beach a little. The crab cakes are awesome, and so we're the fish tacos! We also had onion ring and cheese curds; both were good, but the cheese curds were delicious! Our family of 5 were all very pleased with our meal choice here. If there was a drawback, it would have to be parking. There was plenty of parking across the street, but it was a bit of a hike, which was fine for us, but it might be difficult for some. Customer service was great; we were well taken care of, including drinks to go.

Last meal before a plane ride out of town. Ordered shrimp baskets & a crab cake. The crab cake was absolutely delightful & the sauce that came with it was heavenly. The shrimp was perfectly breaded and fried. The fries had a lovely light breading and well fried. We're good & crunchy even cold hours later. The only hiccup was some of the hush puppies were over fried & a bit too dark for our liking. Once showing our server she promptly went and got us new ones that were not over cooked. The hush puppies were very delicious.

Mixed drinks were not good. No alcohol and watered down. Zach was ok . The food was phenomenal. I sat at the bar and watched what a wonderful back of the house team preparing and cooking the food. The food was fresh and hot and they worked very well together.
Went back the next day. The waiter was not pleasant. And told one person in my group it was he's fault he put the wrong sauce on his food. But the waiter ordered the wrong sauce on the plate. He then tells him he will charge for another one and we asked to speak to the manager. Manager resolved the issue.
Please would've gotten 5 stars but the drinks are expensive and not good. And The waiter telling my friend it was his fault. That's a big no no!

Update: Came back to Hook’d on my return trip to Florida and brought a friend. I reviewed the menu briefly and said to myself, “Why mess with perfection?!?” Ordered the jerked shrimp nachos again and had to try a drink in the pineapple. No mistakes there. This is a favorite and if I ever find myself in PCB, I will not hesitate to return here. Great service. Quick delivery. Highly suggest going at “off” times to beat the crowds and enjoy the best seats in the house. 2 weeks earlier: Went at an “off” time of 3pm and was immediately seated. I was offered both indoor and outdoor seating. I’m in Florida at the beach in March, “Outside please”. While going at an off time got me seated immediately, it was still busy and I had to wait a minute for the waiter but he did make himself known, I think his name was Tevin. He was great. I asked him for his top three choices and he provided his answer of shrimp tacos, nachos, and lastly the mahi mahi sandwich (which they were out of), so he added the grouper sandwich as another option. I then made my choice and got the nachos with shrimp and per his recommendation I got the shrimped “jerked”, a little spicy he warned and they were perfectly spicy, not too much, but not too little. I debated getting a drink in a pineapple but didn’t make that splurge, but enjoyed seeing everyone enjoy theirs. Here at this restaurant, there is a walk up window just for the drink in a pineapple option. It costs the price of the specific drink plus $7 to have it offered in a pineapple. I’m headed back down to Florida next week and I’m sure I’ll be heading back here and maybe this time I’ll splurge and show you my experience with a pineapple drink. As an original California girl, this place fed my soul as well as my belly. It’s not cheap, but I also don’t think it’s overpriced. I highly recommend going if you’re in town.

My meal was excellent, had the Hook'd on the Sauce Catch of the Day (Mahi). Although the meal was a little overpriced it was very satisfying. Everyone else in our party was also more than satisfied. They had fish tacos, shrimp tacos, Hook'd on the sauce crab claws, Hook'd on the sauce shrimp, cheeseburger, fries oysters. Everything was good. If there is any negatives other than price it would have to be the hush puppies were too done.

May just be the best fried crab claws ever. They were so fresh and the batter was incredibly light. My husband didn't like his shrimp. He said it seemed rubbery like it was frozen. I hope that they were merely over-cooked. Due to the other delectable menu items, he's willing to give them another shot.<br/>I returned a few days later for the Hook'd on the sauce crab claws simply because I've never had crab claws prepared in that manner. I am very pleased I tried this. Although, this is the description of their on the sauce items: "Your choice of Seafood simmered in our Signature Warm Golden Delicious Broth reduced from White Wine, Fresh Vegetables, Herbs & Spices."<br/>With this description I was expecting a somewhat French interpretation and was really shocked to see jalapeno slices swimming in the broth. Now, I like spicy so this was fine with me but I know it would be a meal-killer for some so proceed with caution. I also thought the broth was just a *tad* too salty for my taste.<br/>While I really enjoyed the Hook'd on the Sauce crab claws and consumed every bit, I will be having the fried or sauteed crab claws from Hook'd next time. <br/>Our server was joyfully exuberant who went over and beyond with kindness toward my daughter. She frequently spoke directly to her and made my little girl very happy. I can't wait to return.

Not the place to be. We were first seated at a table meant for two (we had four) and it was completely dark. Couldn't see to read the menu. We upset the hostess when we asked to be moved to a table with light. Don't know about you but I like to see what I'm eating. Friend's burger was 1 step shy of being a lump of coal. Crab cakes were ok not good or great. Service... only saw our waiter when he brought our food and the check. He never checked back. When we left, server and hostess were standing at the hostess desk with others just chit chatting. Warning... do not take this bait. You don't want to get Hook'd at this restaurant.

The food, the view, the service! Everything was absolutely perfect. My husband and I visited here on our honeymoon and LOVED it! The fish tacos (blackened) are perfection! The deck of the restaurant is pet friendly as well!

Good enough.. There are dozens of tourist traps in this area, but this place isn't one of them. Hookd sits next to the pier right on the beach offering a beautiful view. During our visit, I tried the fish tacos (grouper with mango salsa) while my lady friend had the mahi mahi sandwich. Both were pretty good and reasonably priced considering the view, although the service was less than stellar. And the bread on the sandwich was overly thick and dry, but the fish itself was delicious.

What a great little spot. Food was food. Service was great. Casua,l relaxed and lots of staff come by to check on you. Price is good too. Did I meant ion it was right on the water? So much better than the other stuff across the street. Don't pass it up. Recommend you get here for dinner before sunset to enjoy the view.

On our last day in Panama City we had a nice lunch overlooking the gulf. The dog friendly restaurant was perfect for those in our group traveling with pets. The food was delicious, and our server was very attentive. I would definitely go back for lunch if I return to PCB

Awesome food! We had 2 wanting vegetarian fare and another wanting fish tacos...everyone was extremely pleased! The veggie tacos were not only unique they were delicious! The triple dipper-oh so yummy! Fish tacos were a hit. Our server was Dennis, you should ask for him because he's great! The owner is always so nice...you can tell she loves what she does....add in that priceless view of the gulf and that it's pet friendly...and it gets the highest rating I can give:)

Our family of 3 went for dinner around 8 with no wait and got a table inside. Our server was sweet and we got our drinks quickly. The crab cakes were very good, grilled shrimp was awesome and flavorful, and the guacamole was extremely fresh. It started to rain and the wait staff brought everyone on the porch inside. They did a really nice job making sure everyone had a new table to sit at. Great experience, would go here again.

The great view was what lured us in. Sat and waited for 30 minutes tonight and never got our drinks or order taken. We ended up leaving. Rained on us and we had to go ask for towels to dry our table off. Just poor management. Never got to order so I have no idea if the food was as poor as the service.

I waited for an hour and a half before our meal finally came. Then I had to cut my fish with a knife because it was so tuff. Also, they don't have a hard liquor license, so the daiquiri I had was wine based. I don't recommend this place.

Hook'd on the Sauce ... gotta try it. Every place has the same general menu these days. However, you wont find this item unless you're in New Orleans where Cajun is the norm. The dish is a soup with a spicy kick and you can choose between shrimp or fish as the main ingredient. Bread for dunking is on the side and goes well with an 18oz PBR. If you're looking for a place with a great view of the beach and even better Cajun soup then this is it!!

Wonderful. This is a local eatery and so glad we ended up there. By far it has been the best food we have eaten since we got here five days ago. The food was great and our waitress, Sara was super. Hook'd has a small sitting inside but lots of outside sitting. We will be back before we leave for fish tacos and hook'd on the sauce. I had such a great time, much needed after a rain filled day,

Delicious Food Great View Good Service. Ate here yesterday for the first time. I had the fish tacos, my husband had the fish sandwich. The grilled fish tacos are topped with a great mango salsa, served with fresh coleslaw and some of the best black beans and rice I have tasted (and a few chips). My husbands fish sandwich was a full filet fried to crispy perfection. Fries were also hot when served. Beer ice cold. Staff was very friendly. There was an older crowd in when we were for lunch, so they even thought to change the music to be more suitable for the crowd. The place is small (like a beach bar should be). The food is cooked to order. Everything they were brining out looked wonderful. We can't wait to go back. I think this is going to be a regular spot on our eating out list. Portions were huge and good value for the money.

Watch the Waves. This is a great place to sit outside, eat fried pickles and drink a beer. If you are looking for haute cuisine, go somewhere else. You can't beat the pub atmosphere, cold beer and great finger foods. If you come in the height of the tourist season, you will wait to be seated anywhere you go. At Hook'd you get more than what you pay for.

The seating was nice with outdoor tables facing the beach the hostess was nice.... We sat and listened to the band play... After ordering our food the waitress came back a few times and told us our food would be out shortly after being there for an hour and twenty minutes we finally got tired of waiting on our food and told the waitress we where going else where...... She asked us to wait while she checked on our food and told us the kitchen had lost our ticket.... We still had to pay for our drinks despite the extremely long wait... Would not go back to try again.

My family of five went for dinner tonight based on reviews. What a Disappointment!!!! We arrived at 7:05. We're told the wait was 45 minutes. We were seated after one hour and 15 minutes. We ordered immediately. We ordered tacos. Our food arrived 55 minutes later. It was not hot. It was average. The manager apologized and gave us a 10% discount! Yippee! I will not go back! I do recommend!!! I would have preferred Waffle House.

First, one should comment on the atmosphere, which is quite wonderful, as we chose to sit on the patio, looking onto the beach and listening to the tide roll. The service is fantasic! The food is for what one would hope: tasty seafood with a fresh catch daily with an options for steak. As far as I could discern, this is no tourist trap, as it was recommended by locals as a nice alternative. But I can only imagine the tourists shall soon find there way here. And rightly so!

As noted before it's a smaller restaurant, but save yourself the wait at the bigger places across the street and try it. I had the fried fish and chips and it was the best I've had during this visit. The hushpuppies are pretty good too. No complaints!

Hook'ed was AMAZING!! the restaurant is fairly small, but we went around 6:30 and were seated immediately. The wait time was a little long, but once we tasted the food, it was well worth it. Everything from the bacon burger to the fish tacos to the seafood platter was incredible! A one man band concluded our evening at hook'ed and we couldn't have been happier! What a treat and a pleasant relief after a horrible experience at Sharkeys the night before! Highly reccommend.

Waitress, ugh. Manager GREAT!. We called ahead and asked for the manager to tell him that we (my gf and I) could not eat seafood and had a sever seafood allergy. The Manager was VERY understanding and empathized saying that he too had to deal with seafood allergies with his family and friends and said that all preparations would be made and that if there would be a problem to ask for him. <br/><br/>The waitress was NOT clear on how the food was prepared and did not make the right requests with our order. We could not eat half the food that came back to us. The manager was sitting in the room and saw that there was an issue and apologized and personally took care of it. We still had to make trip to get some Benadryl but the food was good and Manager was helpful and caring. In hindsight we should have asked for the manager from the moment we sat down.

Nice atmosphere, place has potential. Our waitress was very friendly and attentive, however our food took 50 Minutes to get to us. They were not that busy, not sure what the problem was..maybe they had to go catch our shrimp? Hubby got the shrimp tacos. He said they were good but not as good as the fish tacos we get at our favorite Mexican joint back in TX. I had the grilled shrimp loaded veggie salad. It was good, but not worth the $14. They had Diet Dr Pepper so plus there, but hubby's Long Island Iced Tea was small and overpriced. But thats kinda what you expect in this area. Nice view overlooking the pier.

Great Fish Tacos. Some of the best Fish Tacos I've ever had. Not much for management, working there, and just a bunch of kids right out of high school. Thank goodness we got in there when it wasn't busy at all. Honestly, we were the only patrons. It was also 11:15am. I wouldn't trust the kids if things got a little too busy for them. B, and that is being generous.
