Lovely environment, delicious 🤤 wine 🍷 tasting and 6 course meal.
Was exited they had a vegan menu! Soup and cauliflower were both excellent. Not the typical ambience I would go for (lodge, old school) but food and service were both great.
A really great experience. The food is sourced both locally and internationally through a very curated list of perveyors. That means the best of everything. Had a small misstep in timing between the kitchen and our server that caused a bit if confusion. Otherwise, would be 5 star.
Amazing experience. Shelly was the best server and her support team are friendly and attentive. Wine pairing was more than worth it.
Great Most Awesome food...Went there a couple yrs ago..
Went for the end of season Spring prix fixe dinner. Really enjoyed the food, but felt we were a bit rushed. Didn’t feel we had time to savor each course and paired wine before the next course came. The explanation of each course and the wine was a bit lacking. In top restaurants I have dined around the world, the wait person would take pride in describing each course and would always bring the bottle to show the label and describe the wine. This is an area for improvement it the restaurant wants to achieve top rating.
This restaurant is simply amazing. My wife and I travel a lot together for work and we always make a point to seek out the best places in the cities we visit for fine food and drink. We visited Mariposa and it more than exceeded our expectations.
This restaurant has a charming and intimate setting inside the Silver Lake Lodge. The restaurant combines a fine ski lodge dining experience with a quaint “locals only” feel. The restaurant staff it’s professional from the woman who greeted and sat us to our server who was spectacular.
What sets this place apart from other fine restaurants I have visited is the combination of delicious and innovative courses with an extremely well curated wine list. I was extremely impressed with the wine selection both by the bottle and by the glass. The person who created this list is extremely knowledgeable in both old world and new world wines as the wines they were offering by the glass were wines I have purchased for my own cellar. Some restaurants skimp on the wines hoping you will just pick expensive choices but this restaurant combined extremely good value for money and the option for both 3 ounce and 6 ounce pours via their Coravin system. My wife and I started with champagne and ended with a 2013 Spottswoode Napa Cab- one of the best vintages in Napa of all time and a 99 point wine.
What made our experience most special was our server Juiliane (please correct me if wrong and I will correct it). She was first rate and paired our favorite courses with the perfect wine. Our two favorite courses, recommended by the server, was the Foie Gras and waffle and the cauliflower. The foie gras was out of this world and was severed with the most unique waffle I have ever tried. This is a must not miss even if you are not a Foie Gras fan. Be sure to try with a glass of Sauternes with it like we did. The cauliflower was also spectacular. It is not something you would typically order as a stand alone course but I am glad we did. We finished it up with the roasted duck paired with my favorite wine of the night, the Spottswoode Cabernet.
I highly recommend this place and this restaurant is a must visit place for anyone who loves great food and service who visits the Deer Valley resort. Kudos to the restaurant and staff as they have a first rate operation with food and service of the highest caliber.
We've been coming here for at least 20 years. Not many times, but enough to see the place over time. I like the current move to small plates rather than mostly multi course fussy food. Everything we had was pretty much perfect. It's still quite pricey. The service was excellent. The space perfect. Rather than just hand out superlatives, if you are looking for a special night, this place should be at the top of the list. It's a LOT better choice over some of the traditional places like Log Haven.
A romantic little restaurant with a glowing fireplace, wooden surroundings and a cozy vibe. My husband and I decided to get the tasting, which included the fried green tomato and ahi tuna appetizers, gnocchi side dish with truffle shavings, the lamb chop main dish, snowball and sorbet desserts. The ahi tuna was good, but it was sitting on top of a large piece of thick bread (which seemed a bit of overkill), and there was too much sea salt sprinkled on top. The gnocchi was delicious, but the added cost of the truffle shavings was definitely not worth it--they tasted like paper. It was disappointing. The lamb chop, I must say, was THE BEST lamb chop I've ever had in my life! Perfectly cooked. Not chewy. Not gamey. Absolutely amazing! I was looking forward to the famous snowball, but at the end of the day, it was just a ball of dense chocolate cake covered in whipped cream. It didn't wow me. However, the sorbet dessert was so interesting, with its finger limes and meringue dusted with chili--I can't remember the actual name, but it was great! Our service was 5 stars, as was the atmosphere and location. I just think their food is just a bit of a miss with a lot of hits!
Truly a 5 star restaurant. Small plates, we got 4 each with wine pairings, call it a 4 course meal. If you're a big eater go with 5. Very Frenchy style with unique menu you won't find anywhere else. Impeccable service. Make reservations way in advance. We booked 30 days ahead. Walking distance to Stein Erickson lodge. Dinner only.
This is my second time here and it was just as incredible as I remember. It's in the middle of the village and the service was the best I've ever seen. We requested the same guy we had before , ask for "Juan bueno". You will not be disappointed. Incredibly knowledgeable and personable. The wine was excellent, caviar was excellent, bison was out of this world and cheese cake to top it of . You HAVE to go here if you get the chanc .
Ps; ish deer valley allowed snowboarders .
fabulous food in beautiful surroundings. make reservations far in advance! kobe beef carpaccio appetizer was a bit tasteless despite the presence of truffles, with minute slices of beef. for entrees i recommend the bison medallions and lamb enthusiastically. service bordered on obsequious but the deer valley denizens seem to like it that way. next time i will try the tasting menu. server very knowledgeable about wines and offered good advice.

Revisited in February 2013. They have reduced meat portion sizes to 2.5oz. Appetizers are also smaller than previous years. Although the quality is still excellent, the value for money has decreased. You will not have leftovers from this restaurant, unless you eat like a sparrow.
The food was O.K. Not a lot of options and very basic cuisine. The service was also slow which was annoying with what the prices were you’d expect prompt service and a full water glass at such high altitudes. It was a last second decision for my family so it was nice to get in quickly and not have a wait.
Yum! High end small plates. I like the sablefish and the cheese plate and the snowball for dessert. Certain tables can get overlly hot or smoky from the fireplaces. Solicitous service, nice mixed drinks and wine list.
