We've been meaning to go for awhile and saw it on the news this morning so we went. We got there around 12:30 on a Sunday. It was mostly full. They have indoor and covered outdoor seating. We waited a little for indoor, but not long. Even the inside is made to look like and outdoor biergarten. The service was excellent and patient as we had several questions about the menu as it was our first time. We are not strangers to German food and we thought it was great. The schnitzel is pork or chicken, no veal, and the sausages were great. We had the cream cheese strudel which was also good and made in site. The King's Bierhaus in the Heights is affiliated with this restaurant. It's have the drive for us, so will try that next. Loved it will go again.

With a friendly staff on a week day, not easy to find these days.
I visited on a Wednesday afternoon and ordered the all you can eat sausage special for the month of August.
I have to say my favorite two are the spicy kielbasa and the chicken both filled with flavor and balanced spices.
The atmosphere was fun with a vast selection of beers live music in the covered patio
Great family style restaurant and definitely fun at night
Helped by a sweet and friendly bartender named Ashley
Will definitely be back to try the ribs and side orders.
Really really awesome staff and decor. Place looks and feels like Germany. Really impressive the lengths they go to to make it cozy. Staff knows their stuff as well and are super friendly. Would give 5 stars only if food had a little more flavor. The temperature served and the plating is excellent. Drinks great as well. Just add some flavor to weinersnitzel and they are golden!
This place is seriously the cutest! The waiters and waitresses wear "traditional" German clothing and the menu offers a wide selection of European sausages with a few strange ones for the braver person. There is German beer and German side dishes. I would definitely go back, great place!
We had the pork shank dinner (Schweine Haxn) and it was fantastic! Almost as good as the ones in Germany. The sauerkraut was also good, but the red cabbage was not and the roasted potatoes were very plain. The goulash soup was good but it tasted of preservatives, like out of a can. My husband enjoyed the Hacker Pschorr beer and my Colaweiss (weizen and coke) was great, even though our server looked at me strange when I ordered it lol. The wait staff was very nice and checked on us often. Im a very picky eater but our dinner was a great experience overall! Thank you for an nice evening!
Absolutely love this place. Been coming for years. And it seems like it's getting better every time. An actual restaurant that cares about improving and it's experience and not resting on his Laurels but rather building upon them to create a much more spectacular German American Experience. The owner and his family is super friendly as well as the Fantastic staff that never ceases entertain. The food and beer selection is inspired. If Only They would do a pan fried schnitzel. That would make my day.
Get the pork shank. Go on Mondays and get it for half off. Fantastic deal. Feeds to easily unless you're a glutton Like myself LOL.
Just recently tried there Sunday brunch. Bottomless mimosas for $12 Is hard to beat.
Food was really good too just a little bit small and portions.
Absolutely fantastic. Extremely knowledgeable staff. Kevin was fantastic on his recommendation for beer and bratwurst. Food top notch. Theres a reason this place is the best German restaurant in America.
Great hidden gem if you appreciate good German food. With nice weather they have the patio to sit on and hear live music. They were so very nice to accommodate our very large group as well. Absolutely recommend!
I finally made it to Ming's after 3 years of wanting to make the pilgrimage. The wait was worth it!
Very authentic and reminds me of foods my grandmother made or when we visited New Beaunfels when I was a kid.
Great beer selection and cellar temp too! The beer cheese I could just order that and drink it. The pretzel was fresh and delicious. Legit schnitzel and house made wurst; delicious!
The service was fantastic, polite, informative, and attentive without being overbearing.
The only thing was trying go find the restrooms, which are hidden behind the bar. Not so good when you've been pounding litres of beer. But now we all know where it is.
Fun times and great food!
Tried this place on a whim- what a novelty!! The outside was fun and kooky, nostalgic and welcoming... inside the atmosphere was warm and lots of homage to castles & knights. Menu was fun - the 'wurst' I've ever seen! Service, my waiter was a delight and seemed to like his job which was refreshing. Food was delish- I just did some apps and their ghulwein MMM!! will definitely be back, especially if they put on events!
I love this place!! When we go we All get the Crispy Pork Knuckle Why Not!!! IT's a once in a blue moon opportunity and we LOVE IT!! the soft pretzel ofcourse is amazing and delicious as an appetizer, and the plethora of beer options for the guys are awesome and the lavender Margaritas and the cocktail with the Ballon for the ladies are perfect!!(oh and we can't forget the Shot-Ski).....Sat. they have LIVE MISIC....Meghan (the owner) I think that's her name is SUPER SUPER SWEET The staff is out of this world amazing even if they didn't work your table, and the atmosphere is just FRIENDLY! When we leave we always can't wait to go back!!!......The place is so Humble and makes you want to come back for more!!! IT THE SAME WITH THE HEIGHTS LOCATION TOO Luke (or Lucus is our server when we go there and he is awesome!)
Just adorable piece of Austrian/German culture south of Houston in between the Pearland/Friendswood areas. The food is great as is the service. The ambiance helps you to feel like your in a German Biergarden. The Bier is good, cold & a hreat selection. The food is good & hot. Schnitzel, Wurst, German Potatoes, Sauerkraut, Red Cabbage, heck even the apple horseradish is excellent. Oh and the desserts.... Yum!!!! Definitely worth the drive. 😉 Big T
ps. I hear they've opened a second location in the Heights area. Can't wait to try it. 😁
Great tasting food and variety. Will definitely be going back service was excellent and fast. Food was fresh and hot. Recommend the jagar sauce.
Thia place was fantastic.
Great food
Great beer
Great all other drinks
Waitstaff was very attentive for as busy as they were
I could not have wished for a better experience
Check their Facebook page for events and go to one, it's really fun and full of great people
Good German restaurants in the Houston area are few and between. On my birthday, my daughter, grandson and I drove down from Houston.
I had the jaeger schnitzel and my daughter ordered the meatloaf. The food was very good.
The servers were very friendly and attentive. I appreciated the free dessert for my birthday. 😉
Really liked the overall experience with food, drinks and the service. They have really cool sitting area. Lunch time is perfect for cheap beer.
Tried the Glühwein, and it's delicious! Good beer selection and the service is above par. If it's your first time, stick with the bratwurst sausages and venture out from there - everything is pretty good. Lots of live music, si be prepared for accordions!
First the atmosphere was excellent. The employees review from the door greeted you, genuinely glad to see you. There were many signs that you can sell there were authentic
A small selection candy that I've only seen in Germany when I lived there. There are many different places you can be seated. You can choose the bar, the patio, or the indoor dining room. We chose the patio.
The food and drinks were a bit overpriced but very good
The place is dog friendly. The brightest part of mine and my husband's visit there, was the waiter, Eric.you went above-and-beyond' and I've never had a better server . The next time if we come back it will be as Eric's call customers. He's that good.
