The atmosphere was friendly and inviting with a vintage diner feel. The food was beyond amazing! We had the French toast(made from French bread) and the Napoleon special which was heavenly. We will definitely be back again and again!

Groupon brought me over. I have passed by this place several times because it is on a major road. I always see cars parking outside. After I walked in around 9 am. The place was almost full and the waitress told us to seat ourselves. I looked at the menu and found what I wanted, crab cake benedict and biscuit and gravy.
As more people came in and sat down, the waitress took the order of a party that just came in. A few minutes later, another waitress came to take my order.
The food came and it was decent. The hash brown was cooked to light brown on the outside. I would prefer a bit more crispy. But it was seasoned well. The crab cake benedict was good. The yolk wasn't runny or too cooked. The biscuit and gravy was pretty tasty as well. They put the sausage patty on the biscuit. The gravy was just poured over the sausage and biscuit.
By this time, the place is packed and couple parties left. The waitresses had to bus the table and refilling drinks. I would say that they can probably use a bus boy to turn the table faster.
My family and I visit here 2 or 3 times a month. It's our Neighborhood Restaurant that we enjoy. The Staff knows our faces and greets us with a smile. Our food is always to order. The prices are wonderful. Just an overall awesome experience.

The food was awesome (great fish tacos), good wait staff, decent laid back atmosphere. Breakfast time was busy the day before, would eat here again.
Very similar to a Waffle House and rather crowded for some reason. Food seem a little bland, I had the everything omelet and there were 4 ingredients.
We've visited 3x now. Enjoyed everything we've eaten so far. Always a lot of people inside so that was our reason for testing it out. Terrific prices for a menu with quite a variety. The beignets are a must!
CJ's does everything right: good food, excellent service, and solid variety. We were visiting Pensacola and are happy we found CJ's. We ate breakfast here, and am sure that the lunch menu is just as good. My kids rarely eat their entire meal, but did here. It's that good. Eat here w/o hesitation.
The service is a little slow, but super friendly, and the food more than makes up for the speed. Perfect for a lazy Saturday breakfast/lunch!! We go here all the time!

BEST breakfast in Pensacola! So consistent- perfect eggs, perfect beignets, perfect crab cakes. The cooks there really know what they're doing. Best kept secret.

Yummy. First time & was totally surprised ! now I finally know where to find yummy beignets in P'cola. Eggs Benedict was delicious & staff very friendly. Short wait,but expected at 11:30 on Sunday. Will be taking my out of town company there next month for sure !!
Awesome food. Once again, another great breakfast. The beignets are a must have. The Gumbo Skillet and Napoleon and simply awesome. Have been there for lunch as well. Food is always fresh and always good. Sometimes the service can be slow, but that is usually when the place is packed to the max. Need a CJ's II on the North-side of town.
Great food... The service not so much. Really bad. But this is one if the places only the locals know about... My fav is the crab cake egg Benedict and they have the bestttttt sausage gravy!!
WOW!!!! Holly Eggs Benedict Batman wehave a winner!!! I got the tradional...which was a honey based ham. I asked if the sauce qas home made they assured me yes. I asked foe fries instead of hasbrowns ...no problem. I give them a 10. Eggs perfectly pouched!!! Staff...wow my waitress has been here a long time!!!

I was not disappointed. As noted by others, it's not a big place, but when I was there on a Thursday morning, it wasn't crowded at all.
The staff has kind of a funny/witty attitude, cracking a few jokes with me during and after my breakfast.
Everything I ordered was well-prepared, and best of all, my two eggs, bacon, hashbrowns, and toast cost just a few cents more than $5.
I love this place. Great food and great coffee. This place is very small and very popular. On the weekends you should show up before 9:00am of you don't feel like waiting an hour or two. My favorite place to have breakfast so far.
When in Pensacola do as the locals do. I've eaten here three times and had three different items. All three meals were extremely tasty with the food cooked perfectly. The staff was super friendly and helpful too. I would give CJ's my highest recommendation for down home food.

Gumbo Hash Brown and Egg Skillet!. Outstanding! Until now, I have never heard of putting gumbo on top of hash browns and topping it with a couple fried eggs. Chili, yes. Gumbo, no. This breakfast is absolutely one of my favorites... anywhere. We'll be back!
Just good food!. I have only eaten at this restaurant twice & it was for lunch. Both times, the food was excellent as was the service! The staff is small & if the restaurant gets busy you may have to wait a few minutes, but it is worth the wait when the food arrives!!! If you're looking for a fine dining experience you're in the wrong place, BUT if you want great food & friendly service you have arrived ;o)
You MUST have the blueberry bread pudding, divine!
It is a small place with a very small kitchen, so patience is key. If you do manage to wait it out (it's worth it) the New Orleans Napolean is a must! I have also heard great things about the French toast as well as their Benedicts. Yummy food for an amazing price!
Blueberry Bread Pudding. Have never eaten there, but we cannot end a visit to my hometown without getting an order of blueberry bread pudding for my wife as we did on a recent visit.
OMG!! So delicious! Deffinitly a pensacola well kept secret. If you are looking for great food at a good price look no further it's here at CJ's. I have yet to try anything from here that is less than par. My family of picky eaters give CJ'S two thumbs up.
Best breakfast. This very small place is great for breakfast. It can get busy real quick on weekends, so food may take some time, but it is always good. Service is good, but the waitress's can get a bit busy. I eat there often and will continue too.
Great Local Place. My son and I had been visiting this place every time we go down to Pensacola from Atlanta to visit my ex-husband in the nursing home. No matter out itinerary for the day, we always make sure to put CJ's as item no. 1. The breakfast plates are great. They give you a lot of food for the price. The best thing is their beignets. These little fried delights usually associated with New Orleans are CJ's crown jewel. Order a basket of them. You'll want them all the time. We even get an order to go to take to my ex, since he'd always liked them. He looks forward to our visits because he knows we stop at CJ's first!
We had a rather long wait but the staff was really nice and took great care of us. I hase the country fried steak breakfast it came with eggs, grits, a hashbrown a biscuit a cup of fruit. All of it was delicious but I was suprised how delicious and fresh the fruit was. It was outstanding.
What a fantastic experience! Our server was a doll and my CJ's New Orleans Napoleon for brunch was perfect. A great choice when you're looking for a classic family diner.

Best pancakes ever!. I don't know how they do it, but the pancakes are the best I've ever had. They had a somewhat firmer crust with a fluffy inside which was a textural surprise compared to the typical mushy pancakes at most breakfast houses. Also they were perfectly golden brown and a very generous size. Waitress kept my coffee topped nonstop and everything else was good too, but the pancakes are the star of this kitchen and worth giving them a try. Oh also the syrup was really thick and of good quality, not that cheap, runny roadhouse syrup.
Great food. Great atmosphere... feels like someone's home. The staff is always friendly. The breakfast here is very good. I always get the biscuits and gravy and can never finish them (they definitely don't skip on portions!).

Best Breakfast in Pensacola. Really good food for breakfast and lunch. Fried chicken thursday is my favorite. All the specials are really good and they actually cook not just open cans and warm pans.

Great breakfast.. I love getting breakfast here, it's got a lovely little local feel with a pretty decent breakfast selection & nice staff. The everything omelette is my favourite, but on our last visit my boyfriend got the Napoleon and it was great! This is owned by the same CJ who owns 5 Sisters, so it's got similar food at a lower price and a totally different atmosphere.
Great Place to Eat!!!!. Cj's is so delicious!! I saw one person said it is over priced compared to Waffle House? But this restaurant is clearly better than a waffle house! The food is great and the employees are friendly. Definitely a great place for the family! If you like tomato gravy you will love theirs! I strongly encourage everyone visit this place if you are near the area!
Quality cooked to order food for a leisurely breakfast. The omelettes were excellent - the biscuits and grits nothing special. Overall effect is a hearty, southern-style diner that gets the job done.
So glad we came here great lil breakfast spot with really really good food. The napoleon was great and my hubby loves his omelette omg so good.! The smothered pork chop was out of this freaking world good! The only thing I didn’t like was the bacon it had a funny taste to it and I wasn’t able to eat it but everything else was fine. We will be back. I did really enjoy their coffee as well! I recommend trying it out
So the Seafood Platter is the most expensive meal at a whopping $12.49. I thought about just getting the Shrimp basket at $11.79, for $0.80 more, why not try the fried fish, crab cake, hush puppies with coleslaw and still get two sides….so I did.
The fried catfish and shrimp were delicious, cabbage was had smoked ham flavor, delicious and the hush puppies had great seasoning and moist. Coleslaw, homemade tartar sauce and the onion rings were all very good! My only complaint is the crab cake… just meh. As a disclaimer, I have lived in Maryland over 20 years so I’m a bit snobbish with crab cakes but crab cakes in general in Florida have been flaky crab with a lot of filler, so just meh.
Also, they were out of green beans and garlic mashed potatoes… wah 😩
My husband devoured his Caribbean Chicken Salad, so overall, lunch was delicious! Our total bill was less than $30, good value for the price.
The restaurant is a little dated but staff were super sweet, warm and welcoming!
What a little gem. Great American diner food. Caught it just before closing and the corned beef hash was perfect.
Huge Portions and A Ton of Regulars!
I took one look at my Corned Beef Hash and immediately asked for a to-go box for half: Everything was delicious and satisfying. They even gave me a cup of coffee to-go.
CJ's is a comfortable, talkative atmosphere; and the servers try to learn everybody by name; if you're lucky, a local artist might even paint your picture for CJ's wall: Every single painting is a real life CJ's customer.

We have gone by this place alot. We finally decided to stop in. We are glad we did. It was busy and they seemed short staffed. But yet we were greeted and got a table. It took a few minutes to get things going. But the staff apologized and took our order. They have great team work. Which is something rare these days. We received our breakfast and it looked great. No fancy stuff. Just down to earth good food. For the price we actually got what we paid for. Another good change. This is a nice classic little place. It just got two more regular customers. We definitely will be anxious to go back.
Ok, so hear me out. This is definitely one of those places were you don't judge a book by it's cover. The food was amazing and the portions are just perfect. Staff is on top of their stuff and very polite. I will definitely be returning.

bit busy and crowded. I went on a week day at 11 a.m. The food and waitress was excellent. They have a Huge menu. Its an Old timey diner. No frills with very tasty food at reasonable prices. Worth a try and return visit. I had my food to go within 15min. I used a Groupon spend $10 for $20 worth of food. Seemed to have regulars which wasn't surprising since food was so very tasty. I don't really care for the Pensacola area but this stop made it worth while. Plenty of parking next to the building. I think you should check it out! Very satisfied customer. I thank you.
No pics this time!!! Sorry! I simply mowed that burger down FAR too fast! First time diner…but won’t be the last! VERY reasonably priced! As a matter of fact that was the ONLY thing better than the burger! Friendly, fun and fair! Hard to beat!
You may find this hard to believe, but for a breakfast to include all that plus biscuits and a drink for like $12, and almost makes me feel like I'm back in the '90s! The food was outstanding proportions were amazing and the staff was so great. I wish I lived down here I'd be eaten there every day.
CJ'S is an experience as soon as you walk through the doors. You can't help but notice the colorful drawings all over the walls, portraits of people who have stopped by to enjoy a delicious meal. I love a hole in the wall type restaurant, one that has history that you can feel when you walk through the doors.
I love almost any type of eggs benedict dish so I decided on the Crab cake benedict with hashbrowns. The English muffin was crispy, the egg cooked perfectly, not too runny or too firm. The Crab cakes had real pieces of Crab and not a lot of breading and the hollandaise was creamy and delicious. And they weren't stingy with the hollandaise like some places. My only complaint was the hashbrowns were a bit stingy, I wanted a bit more. Otherwise I really enjoyed everything, particularly the amazing customer service.
Oh, and I saw the corned beef hash and it's next for me to try. 🤙
