Awesome atmosphere and genuine German food! The walls have vintage posters, stain glass pieces, and a whole wall covered in brass plates of winners in the World Beer Tour. They even decorated for Christmas with some warm multi-colored lights which really added to the atmosphere as opposed to taking away from it. Even ordering from the counter after looking at your menu is a little thing that perhaps unintentionally adds on to the warmth and comfort of the experience. I had a couple types of sausages, which were delicious, along with the sauerkraut. I would recommend the German Potato Salad as a side if you're getting a sandwich.
My wife and I enjoyed a very nice dinner & drinks. This is an established restaraunt serving authentic style German foods. Dinner was delicious and our foods presentation was nice. I enjoyed a dark German draft beer which was quite smooth. Very enjoyable experience tonight.
Went for late-night meal with family and thoroughly enjoyed beers, service and food. Waitress was very good, pleasant and fast. I love German beer and the tap and bottle selection was very satisfying.
I will return if I find myself in Peoria for certain, as there are many more taps to try!
You walk through the door and you will swear you are in Germany. It's very authentic in its decor as well as the food. This is a must stop for me on every trip to Peoria. While all the food is excellent I almost always get the Jaegerschnitzel mit sauerkraut and spaetzle although sometimes I opt for mashed potatoes instead of the spaetzle. The staff are very friendly and prompt in their service. If by some chance you are unfamiliar with German food they are quite knowledgeable and will steer you in the right direction. I cannot say enough about this place, and you'll do yourself and your family and friends a huge disservice if you don't drop by. The only thing I wish they had was Spezi on the menu to wash all the great food down, but that's the only thing.
Stopping in for dinner while in Peoria for work and was pleasently surprised! The staff was very nice and prompt. A great beer selection. The food was excellent. If you are interested in trying authentic German food or are familiar with it, then this place will not disappoint! I will definitely return next time I stop in Peoria!
Friendly, knowledgeable staff. Basic German dishes. Small dining room/ bar so get there early or make reservations.
