Nestled in a quaint corner, this charming French restaurant transports you straight to the heart of Paris with its ambiance. On this visit, we decided to try something different and went for the non-French pasta dishes, which were absolutely delicious. I also have to give a special shout-out to their bread basket - a real treat! The service was commendable, and the overall ambiance was very enjoyable.
OUTSTANDING brunch! Make reservations! As I was walking out, I saw a pretty big line starting to form.
My family and I came here before our flight and it was maybe the best meal of our few days in Philly. We loved just about everything. Let me dive right in:
I split the eggs Benedict and the cheeseburger with my dad. Both were amazing. Lots of flavor and it was really high quality food. We got an order of the French toast for the table which was pretty good, but not the best I’ve ever had. My sisters said great things about the egg white omelette (which contained ratatouille and goat cheese) as well as the croque monsieur/madame (I can’t quite remember). I really liked my hot chocolate AND I tried some of my dad’s chocolate milkshake. Super random, but my sister got a side of the pork sausage which was probably some of the best pork sausage I’ve ever had. Unexpected but delicious! Let my photos speak for themselves.
Beautiful restaurant especially with the holiday decorations up. Food is solid and well prepared. Duck was a bit salty, but the skin is nice and crispy. French fries were cooked to perfection I had to have seconds from my kid’s plate.
Had a fantastic breakfast experience, and now I can't wait to go back for escargot. The staff was really nice and patient, and the food was excellent.
Plus, being right next to Rittenhouse Square, sitting near the window gets you a great view of the park.
You feel as if you've been transported to Paris in this traditional brasserie. The service is always lovely - our waitress was helpful and pleasantly attentive, as are the supporting staff. We all enjoyed our meal very much, and the bread basket has a delicious cranberry walnut option that is a favorite of my parents. We will definitely return!
My dining experience at Parc was a study in contrasts. The restaurant effortlessly exuded an enchanting atmosphere, and the service was nothing short of exceptional. However, the culinary offerings left me with mixed feelings.
As a relative newcomer to the world of French cuisine, my anticipation was palpable. I had heard laudatory tales of French culinary mastery and, despite my background mainly in the realms of Asian and Latin American flavors, I was eager to explore this uncharted territory. I had previously eaten at a Thai-French fusion restaurant which was phenomenal.
The culinary journey began on a promising note with a rich and velvety hot chocolate, setting high expectations. Yet, the accompaniment of bread, far from the freshly baked, crusty delight I had hoped for, was a somewhat lackluster start.
The butternut squash soup that followed, although warm and hearty, came across as somewhat unadventurous, akin to a comforting baby food adorned with scattered nuts. The leeks in vinaigrette, while commendable in theory, failed to enthrall, leaving me yearning for a more substantial salad to showcase the vinaigrette's potential.
A venture into the stereotypical realm of French gastronomy compelled me to try the escargot, a dish known for its iconic status. The buttery sauce was nothing short of delectable, yet the escargot itself, with its earthy undertones, proved an acquired taste, reaffirming the uniqueness of French culinary traditions.
The crescendo of the meal arrived with the Mediterranean Sea bass, characterized by its delightfully crispy skin and tender, delicately seasoned flesh. A side of bean salad breathed life into the proceedings, marking the pinnacle of the evening's culinary performance.
Although I may not rush to revisit Parc, my sojourn into French cuisine was an enlightening one. It bestowed upon me a deeper appreciation for the subtleties of this culinary art, even as my palate remains loyal to the vibrant and spicy flavors of Asian and Latin American cuisines. This endeavor was, in essence, a gateway to a unique culinary culture that, while occasionally enigmatic, offers a distinctive perspective on the world of dining.
We came for cocktails and a light meal in the afternoon, then I returned a few days later with a different group. Fantastic classic French cooking. Everything was beautifully executed. The mushroom soup and steak tartare were major favorites. We loved the cocktails, all really nicely balanced.
We really enjoyed coming here to brunch. It reminds me of Balthazar and Pastis. I had the mussels and they were really good. My friends all seemed to enjoy their dishes as well. The pancakes were very fluffy and surprisingly had very little sweetness. We had the beet salad, tomato tartine, heirloom tomato salad, and deviled eggs as appetizers and they were all delicious. A warning for vegetarians: you will be ordering off the appetizer menu because the entree menu doesn’t have much for you.
Alex was an incredible bartender! Personality and charm, he’s got it all. My friend and I watched him work service bar and he was crushing drinks with impeccable speed. He made me a fantastic martini that I will never forget. I had such a lovely time all thanks to Alex. Parc has a new regular!
From start to finish the meal was immaculate!! The flavors in my chicken and potatoes just spot on. The restaurant itself is beautiful inside & out, the service was very friendly and attentive. Would return and highly recommend to anyone visiting Philly!
