I went here a few days ago and had an amazing time! We were quickly seated in a cozy dinning room big enough to fit roughly 30-40 people comfortably. I ordered spaghetti bolognese and my partner ordered ravioli as our entrees and split a Caesar salad that came with fresh bread and for dessert we had the NU cheesecake.
Outside of the excellent food, the outstanding customer service from our waiter named John is important to mention. John portioned out our salad on two separate plates without us having to ask and was attentive and efficient the whole night.
The portion sizes of the food were great! Make sure to bring your own bottle of wine to pair with a dish because the restaurant doesn’t offer their own.
Me and my husband went for a date night (BYOB) and had AMAZING food, a little pricey but worth it. Service was great and everything ran smoothly BUT we weren’t notified that the table we had was IN THE KITCHEN so we had the chef and everyone just around us and we had to sit in silence for a couple of times till they finish unloading the dishwasher.
We had the best time celebrating two birthdays here over this weekend. The service was amazing, shout out to John! The whole team perfectly timed the menu and our courses out to have a lovely, leisurely, and extremely enjoyable dinner. Highly recommend the octopus, the Caesar salad, definitely take advantage of any of the specials they have going on, and absolutely adore that this was a BYOB. If you're in South Philly definitely check this out, it is the perfect Sunday night dinner or easy weekday spot. No need to dress up, come as you are, and just remember to bring a good bottle of wine.
This place is a gem of the local restaurant! Great food and great service. We made last minute reservation, so we were sitting at a high top (the restaurant is small and it was a busy day) near the enterance&kitchen. But the heating system here was really good and the seats were comfortable. Also, it was cool to see the kitchen.
About the food: one of the best grilled octopuses out there. Italian style potato salad with is was incredible too. Other dishes were great with generous portion, as you can see from the photos.
We will definitely go back and try other dishes they have.
What a find! Everything is great about this place. The staff are very attentive and friendly. The atmosphere is cute and cozy (maybe add some music). The food was amazing! Fresh, hot, and very delicious! Great portions as well. A winner!

Mikie , Paulo, BUbu and head chef are masters of the universe !!!!!!! Super hero’s of Italian cuisine, this place is nothing short of spectacular. I’ve been coming here for over a decade maybe longer, but recently it’s just been better the bold flavors being pumped out of this kitchen is just too much to explain you have to sit down and eat the food to understand. The Oso Bucco tonight was just perfect.i didn’t order an appetizer on purpose because I wanted to finish the entire dish. It was marvelous the bone marrow was the gift that keeps on giving I sucked the bone dry! The chicken parm is a signature dish that’s been perfected. The service is always top notch Carlos ! Mi amigo always takes great care of his customers. I feel like I’m at home when I eat here. I was going like twice a month at one point that’s how delicious it is. Do yourself a solid and come here with a large party you will Not be disappointed everything on the menu is right. The 14 ounce veal chop when it’s on the menu is a show stopper! The regular menu items all bring their own flare into the dining room. Simple pasta dishes here have so much more flavor! Come check this place out !
The food was amazing from the appetizers to the dessert! It’s also very well-priced with large portions. The service was excellent and the staff was very willing to tailor things for you. It immediately became one of my favorite Philly restaurants!
John and Selena are amazing servers! We were blown away with the amazing customer service and the food is 10/10! So good in the first 5 minutes we knew this would be one of our favorite restaurants. Amazing is an understatement !
We had been to L'Angolo a handful of times and everything is always great, but most noteworthy was a recent visit... We had a group of 17 people for a celebratory dinner and L'Angolo could not have been more accommodating! Even in the small space, they fit us comfortably and the service/food was just fantastic (as always!). A great spot for authentic Italian food and that old-school South Philly ambiance. My coworker recommended L'Angolo Ristorante to us and I'm so glad we gave it a try - we had some of the best Italian food we've ever eaten in the U.S! It's the definition of a "hole in the wall" restaurant (in a good way) but make sure you make a reservation! It's also BYOB.
Awesome time at L'Angolo's. Service was great, food was awesome, cozy family atmosphere. They even quickly and neatly cleaned up a wine bottle snafu at our table and replaced everything perfectly.
I loved the intimate feel of the restaurant. The food was delicious and I loved being able to bring my own wine to compliment the meal. The only thing I wish would be different is the pre-made desserts and pastries. If they made a connection with a local bakery, everything would be perfect.
Italian food in South Philly. Best!! It is small and quaint. The food is unbelievable. It is one of those places you cannot wait to go back. Call for reservations and it is a BYOB establishment.
I've eaten in a lot of places in Philly but this restaurant is at the top of my list. Good, honest food. The staff was attentive even on a busy weekend. I recommend any grilled seafood dish. My friend had pasta with seafood and it was perfectly cooked and very rich. Im looking forward to going again
3 Months ago I ate with a friend. I have lived in London and New York. The Best Meal I ever had. My Dinner Date said her’s was Great too. Paolo personally made me a Lamb Osso Buca that me want to cry. The check was ridiculously low
Wonderful experience! I went to celebrate my twin sister's and my birthday. As a nice time to share together. Carlos (restaurant employee) made our night unforgettable! He made us feel at home. He even turned off the lights and sang happy birthday for us! For sure, I'm coming back for the service and the delicious food.
Small neighborhood Italian restaurant. They employ neighborhood kids and make some really nice Italian food. I love that it is BYOB. It is small inside so make reservations. Totally affordable!!!
Easily the best Italian restaurant I have ever been to. Went 5 years ago for an anniversary and we still talk about it. Looked it up for a client and had to leave a review.
A fun little hole-in-the-wall with great eats and service. It’s not Vertri Italian - it’s south Philly Italian and there is nothing wrong with that. Perfect location before any events on South Broad Street.
