The food was delicious. Everything. We ordered the watermelon salad, foie gras appetizer, steak for entree and raspberry pistachio cake for dessert. The flavors and quality of each dish was simply delicious. The good reviews did not lie! đź‘Śđź‘Ť

Last minute decision to eat here so couldn't get a reservation but ate at the bar. Initially we were somewhat taken aback by the bartenders dismissive demeanor but he warmed up eventually and was very charming. Drank a few French Farmers--- a light champagne concoction and shared a yummy cheese plate with my daughter and her friend. They devoured a pizza while I ate an amazing melt in your mouth skirt steak with pesto. Wished there was more! Bartender treated us to their signature dessert- sea salt and caramel and chocolate deliciousness in a jar!!! I only wished I lived in Philly so that I could go back and try more dishes.
Also prices were very reasonable.
I've been there several times, going back to 2013. It is my favorite restaurant in Philadelphia. Last Saturday, I had a fantastic meal with my son. The gin and tonic was very well made. We started with the beet / kale salad, snap pea salad. We then continued with the Special cinghale pizza and roasted mackerel. The food never disappoints and the service was outstanding. Thank you, I can't wait to return...It is a busy place, be sure you have a reservation...
Five stars to the staff our waiter and even the other guests at Barbuzzo. Our reservation was on time and everything from the Ricotta to the salted caramel bundino, the fillet of Dorado oh my the pesto was exquisite to my appetizer of pear bruschetta was a taste party for my taste buds. Our waiter guy with glasses overheard my cousin and me talking about her birthday and brought the olive oil cake with a candle. A beautiful detail that we most treasured. Definitely on my go back list. Keep up the good work
Visited Philadelphia for one night luckily hotel was very close to this restaurant or we would have missed it. Beet salad / charcuterie/ mackerel/ trout tartine all prepared very well. Dessert was salted caramel budino/ almond cake/ cherry vanilla gelato. Made reservations early atmosphere and service are on point. We first came for dinner after eating we had other plans but returned for dessert at the bar again great service and food. Must try if in the city.
My favorite restaurant -whenever I visit Philly, eating here is a must. Love the sheep's milk ricotta, arancini and gnocchi. And the salted caramel budino is possibly the best dessert I've ever eaten. Phenomenal food and impeccable service every time!

Excellent meal and ambiance. The skirt steak with Romescu sauce was out of this world and the white chocolate praline ice cream was superb. Very reasonably priced. Would definitely recommend this place.
Wonderful meal! The service was attentive but not invasive. The cocktail and wine were top notch. I had the fresh ricotta and the gnocchi. Both were delicious
What a great experience! You must try the stuffed meatballs. And for desert - the carmelized white chocolate pecan gelato is the best I've had outside of Italy.
Loved everything about my experience. The food is beyond amazing!! I highly recommend this restaurant!
the chef and the staff work very hard non stop! Each dish is made from scratch and is extremely high quality. Meatball, bread with ricotta, and desert almond cake are delious and so satisfying. The pasta is fresh and beautifully prepared. Would go back right now if I could. Chef answered questions while I watched. Very nice. Patrons were all friendly too.
Amazing food! Fantastic cocktails! We loved the vibe for lunch on Sunday. Definitely a top pick in Philly.
Top notch woodfire pizza and great salad that are perfect sizes to split between two. Nice adult beverage options.
Service is impeccable and the restaurant decor is upbeat with table and bar seating.
The kitchen and pizza oven are open air and viewable for those who are like me and enjoy watching.
Reservations are highly recommended but when bar seating is available its first come first service.
*A must try
We walked in was seated right away (even though we changed our seat twice, no fault to the restaurant)!
Got our delicious food pretty quickly even though one meal came out about 7-10 minutes before the other. The waiter explained saying that’s the way the kitchen operates. That lamb pita sandwich was Top 10 delicious and I wish I had taken one to go!
The service felt like I knew her, she was caring, thoughtful and attentive I think her name was Melissa…
Was there for brunch and I took a pic of the dinner menu and will be back based up Melissas service and that dang pita sandwich!
Go here!
Scoped this place out due to the great reviews and was not disappointed. Stopped in around 7:30 p.m. on a Tuesday night, they were packed and busy as heck. They were able to seat me alone within 10 minutes, at the 'chef's table." Which is side by side bar style sitting right in front of the cooking area. Strongly recommend you make a reservation for a party of two or more.
Pretty exotic Italian fare. I don't normally eat at Italian restaurants, so this was very nice for me. They were offering a nice variety of salads and appetizers, specialty pizzas, and pasta or other entrees.
The staff and service was extremely extremely fast and very very friendly. Really amazing and notable for how busy they were!
The atmosphere is nice and cozy, albeit quite tight. Was really cool to see a coal fired oven in the back in full action. Was great to sit and watch the kitchen staff work their magic. Very professional and clean. There was a decent amount of outside seating as well.
I ordered a beet salad and meatballs. To put it simply. They were absolutely fantastic and perfectly filling. I so wanted to try the gnocchi and the pizza as well, but I wasn't about to walk out of there belly busted.
I will definitely want to return to try these other menu items. It's my first day of a week-long stay in Philly so I have to try to get around to other places. But maybe I'll be back in this trip, if not, definitely in the future.
Pricing was considerably reasonable.
Highly highly recommend.
If your in the mood for a Mediterranean inspired then make sure to stop in to Barbuzzo. This small intimate dining experience is perfect for a solo meal, a date for two, or a night out with friends. The kitchen is right behind the bar so you get to watch them cook your meal. The service was out of this world and the food even better. The wood fired pizza is perfectly balanced with flavor and is big enough for two people to enjoy. I must recommend the whipped Ricotta as an appetizer. We walked in for a late dinner with a party of 4 and no reservation but you can always call ahead if you know a date and time.
We were driving down from NJ, called ahead to make a reservation. On our drive we got caught in a monsoon, delaying our arrival time. They were pleasant enough to hold our reservation and got seated right away. The food is phenomenal and came out relatively fast. But the star of the night was Stephanie. She was such a great server, felt so welcomed and had a great attitude about the food but also on life. Great service with a wonderful personality. I highly recommend this restaurant and will be coming back anytime I’m in Philly. The tiramisu is top 2 I’ve ever had.
Very impressed with the service and quality of food! Our server was lovely and very accommodating to us. It was our friend’s birthday and for our dessert she surprised us with a candle. We got 1 caramel dessert, 2 pastas, 1 pizza & 1 bread appetizer. No longer living in Philly but definitely will come back and visit when I’m in town
It's a smaller scale restaurant compared to some others, but it's quality. It may not be as good as some of the top Steven Starr restaurants but it's certainly not far behind.
Surprisingly, one of their best offers is the hole sweet corn Arancini, must try.
The Spanish octopus isn't bad but I've had a slightly better version at Estia Taverna.
In terms of dessert, it's gotta be the Budino, no question.
Their service is very quick! I was impressed considering it was a busy night.
popped in right before closing time just for dessert. our server was attentive even though we were just there for dessert and a drink! the bundino was so damn good. paired with a red wine, it was a slice of heaven. would love to try their food out next time as the atmosphere seemed cozy and the food looked delicious
I ducked in here late on a Friday night and managed to snag a seat at the bar. Staff was nice and asked for a few recs. I landed on the beet salad and bucatini. Both were fairly simple ingredient wise but just so well done. The kale beet salad was light and refreshing. The whipped goat cheese was a nice contrast to the pickled beets and orange. The bucatini was perfectly al-dents and held the unique broccoli pesto well. The pine nuts added a nice texture to the dish and rounded it out to be a nice warm homey meal. I had a nice glass of grinder vetliner, a last word, and an espresso to close out my meal. All in all this place was great and I would definitely come back and am interested in the other restaurants in this group.
Visited on Sunday for Brunch. Food was very tasty and good proportion.
We had ordered Shakshuka and Cardamom and mascarpone cheese stuffed french toast with stone fruit preserves and blueberries thyme syrup.
Everything was made fresh.
