I love this place. I'm a service industry professional and somehow I'm more comfortable here than my own living room. Between the great service (Lisa, Harlan) and the great specials (half priced cans on Wednesdays) they still have incredible food and a diverse drink menu with the kitchen staying open late until 1am. It's 100% my favorite dive bar hang out in the city- divey but not gross, lively but not crazy. The brisket grilled cheese is one of the best sandwiches in Philly, and even if you're not hungry grab some fries to share and tip the waitress for some extra sauces. This place never disappoints.
My wife and I went to have dinner and drinks before the U2 show Sunday June 18th.
Started at the bar but got a table really quickly. My wife likes really fruity drinks and gets disappointed often. She ordered a Malibu Bay breeze and Loved it! She said it was the best one she's had. They have a really great draft and bottle selection. I enjoyed my beer. Don't remember the bartender's name but He was awesome!
Our waitress was super attentive and super nice. She was quick and had superior knowledge of the menu and drafts.
For dinner we started with the Bacon spinach flatbread pizza. Absolutely delicious! My wife got the Cordon blue chicken tenders for dinner. She thought they were great. I had arguably the greatest cheeseburger ever! It was so juicy. The mix if sweet potatoe and regular fries with the aoli dipping sauce were incredible.
Love this spot and I love the "duck pot pie" even more,relaxed atmosphere with great staff. My experience has always been top notch,if your looking for a place to unwind with quality food this is the place...
Great service and delicious food. After every Philly race my fiancée and I always visit the Good Dog Bar for celebratory beers and yummy food. Love the buffalo shrimp and brisket grill cheese or any burger!!! 👍👍
Had a wonderful experience here for the first time! The staff was friendly and welcoming, loved hearing all the specials and seeing all the dog pictures of the walls! Overall great place. Great food. Great people!
The staff were friendly. Try the chicken sandwich. I loved it. My son had the burger stuff with blue cheese and said it was great. Don't skip the fries. They are delicious!

This place is awesome. The beef stroganoff was to die for and the drinks were great. Don't let the looks on the outside deceive you. The food, drinks and service are beyond wonderful.
Wonderful grilled cheese brisket sandwich!! Best waiter - brought me a cup with Hot water so I could warm up my hands. Yay!!! Loved it

Burgers were a little undercooked but tasty. Medium was actually medium rare..which I ate but not good for other party guests. The Steak ordered was perfect. The Mac-N-cheese was probably the best! According to the party it was delicious! Staff was friendly!
Had the feel of a local pub but being downtown was filled with tourists.
Went here randomly and sat by myself and got a glass of wine, a beer and a brat with sauerkraut sandwich and it was only $15 during happy hour! The food is delicious. Not gonna lie, I thought the sandwich would be small and slopped together because it was a happy hour special but it was warm, toasty and prepared nicely. They had tons of specials for summer not including the happy hour specials all around $15-$17. Very impressed! Highly recommend!
Cool bar and grille, we went twice during our few days in Philly. Had the short rib grilled cheese and the burger, both were fantastic. Service was excellent.
Small, cozy comfortable bar with food & a medium sized drink menu. I got the grilled chicken blt on rosemary focaccia and it was 10/10. The fries are shoestring. The drinks are adorable. They have mock tails & pictures of dogs all over the wall. Will def return my next trip to Philly!
Nice small dog themed bar in the heart of center city Philly. Stopped in for a drink after dinner. All the pictures on the wall are dog pictures. So if you love dogs, (and who doesn’t?) you’ll enjoy a visit here.
It's a great place for late night food. The kitchen is open until 11 and the burger was right on point. Hot and cooked to perfection. The drinks were good and the atmosphere was very alive on a week day.
Nice Joint. Had the local wheat beer and Good Dog and both were delicious. The sports and film on the television accompanies the music which works well to drown out the asinine prattling of tourists and locals alike. Staff is great, too.
Dudes & Dudettes. I’m gonna level with you, I adore Good Dog. The bar and wait staff are always really nice. I love the food and drinks. And, best of all, the kitchen is open late.
Stated by me (and basically everyone I know) Good Dog has the best fried mozzarella in the city of Philadelphia (confirmed).
Came here on a Friday afternoon and this place is awesome. Bartender I had was amazing she was no frills kind of gal, I enjoyed her from the time I was there until she left. The next bartender came in and it was on. He looked just like cousin of the show The Bear on Hulu. I immediately started calling him that and enjoyed the rest of the day there can’t wait to return great crowd and specials are the best.
We landed late night in Philly and needed some food. We went to about 4 places in the areas with no food after 10pm. Luckily Good Dog Bar was open! We had bang bang shrimp and lamb meatball sandwich, all of which were prepared freshly. All flavors were tied in very well too. Will be back when we are in town again!
My new favorite hang out. Bartenders are fun, talkative, and attentive. The food is surprisingly delicious, small but thoughtful menu. Love the atmosphere on the 1st level. Jukebox on the wall. Love all the pics of the good dogs (#voteforcomet)

A hidden secret gem. My daughter has lived in Philly for over 10 years and I lived here for almost 2. Why haven’t I heard of this place??
A burger done in the most perfect way. Great drinks. Great fries. Great service. The clientele is diverse! The wildest mix in Philly. I loved it there. I need to find an excuse to go back.
This isn’t a regular pub/bar. What’s coming out of that kitchen is stellar.

I've been dining here for a long time. The beer selection and the food menu have always been excellent. I moved out of the area but I like to visit when I can. For the first time, I brought my pup and we sat outside and had dinner and drinks. The vibe was upbeat, the service was friendly and the food was just as delicious as I remembered. The menu has changed but there is still a great variety. The beers were tasty too!
We ate outside and the heat lamps kept us toasty in the afternoon. The food was amazing. We got the mussels and the burger. Dipping your fries in the mussels is definitely a recommendation. Everything was tasty and delicious. Service was efficient and tables felt clean. Would definitely go back.
So freaking awesome. The short rib grilled cheese was so good. Parking sucks but the sandwich was worth it. 😋
