This is a top Italian restaurant in Philly for good reason. Great service, the aesthetics and architecture are great to look at, and the food is top notch. Old City has a lot of great restaurants to pick from and Spasso is at the top of that list.
I honestly thought this was a solid establishment. The food was very tasty and the service was exceptional. Very grateful to Lisa for her attentiveness and great detail to making sure that we had a great experience.
The restaurant itself was okay. Decor wasn’t anything mind blowing but the space is bigger than it looks when you walk inside. I believe they can host private parties, which is great to know.
I would definitely recommend for anyone looking for a good Italian cuisine experience. Also, definitely can’t go wrong with any of their pastas, freshly made with great flavor!
Quite literally my favorite restaurant. Their specials never miss! Every time I go here I continue to be impressed and I swear it’s the best meal I’ve ever had. We made a last second reservation 20 minutes before and were seated as soon as we walked in the door. Our server was amazing, the veggie compote that comes with the bread is delicious, and the drinks are served with the shaker so you get more than just the one glass. So classy. Love love love this place!!!!
I went here last night for the first time and it was amazing! I’ve seen the place many of times but last night was my first time going in and it was perfect. I was on a date, the food the service was amazing. Very friendly people, clean and the atmosphere was great. The food was delicious. The lasagna was a little suspicious the way it came out but delicious. Definitely going back!!
This was my first time dining at Spasso’s and it did not disappoint. It was on my list of places to visit, and I just so happened to park right out of front, while heading over to Franklin Fountain. I ordered some kind of braised short rib pasta, and it was amazing. Pasta wasn’t overcooked, sauce was great, and meat was tender. My partner & I loved it.
Update:
The pictures below are of my second visit. This time I ordered the Bronzino & Angel hair pasta. The entree was a 10/10. So far, I can’t complain about anything here. I ordered the mussels, which aren’t pictured, and they were also delicious. For my dessert, I ordered the crème brûlée; which was delicious, and honestly the best I’ve had anywhere. I’ll be back
There were 11 of us without a reservation at 7pm on a Tuesday night. The restaurant was very busy, we were pleasantly surprised that we were accommodated and seated in their private room. Service was excellent as was all our food. Tuesday and Wednesday night they offer a 3 course prefix menu for $45 per person which includes wine when 2 purchase it. Full portions were generous. Everything came out at a perfect leisurely pace.
There is a pay parking lot on the side of the building.
Had a lovely dinner with my husband on a Saturday night. The wine list was great and the menu was extensive. The pasta was homemade and delicious! Amazing desserts! Our server, Lisa, made our night very special. She has a wonderful way about her that creates an immediate rapport and she goes the extra mile in each interaction. This was the perfect end to a great trip to Philly.
Restaurant is nice and clean outside dining as well. The bread wasn't fresh. It was cold and the butter was frozen. However, everything else was very good. I wish they had some options of lemonade however, I just went with a pineapple juice water. The appetizer was delicious. The entree was 6 out of 10. The dessert was probably a 6.5/10. All in all 7.9 out of 10 definitely recommend to try this spot out !
My husband and I came here on a Friday at 6:15pm and the crowd was light, the service was phenomenal, and the food was impeccable! Lisa G. was our server and she was absolutely amazing. We left happy with full, satisfied bellies! Will definitely be returning. Best crime brûlée we’ve ever had!!
Dined in here yesterday. Conveniently located and good ambience. Ordered Caesar salad with chicken (good portion, presentation and tasty), and tiramisu (good quality and flavor). The staff here is excellent. A bit pricey but overall a good experience. However, would have preferred more menu options (usually Italian places have a large selection of food items to offer).
Took advantage to the Tuesday and Wednesday dinner special. $45 per person for a 3 course meal and you get a complimentary bottle of their house wine. I enjoyed myself the customer service was great and the food portions were huge. I definitely recommend this place!
We were looking for some good Italian and almost passed on this one. Glad we didn't, they had a great selection of seafood specials. My wife and I both went for more traditional dishes and were not disappointed.
The Linguine Ponza was extremely good the tomato sauce was very pleasant and not overbearing. The shrimp and crab were not overcooked either. My wife had the Pappardelle Porcini and was extremely pleased with the sauce.
The waitstaff was attentive and knowledgeable. Definately would go again.
The food was good! I had the pasta carbonara. It was fresh and flavorful. I'd definitely recommend. My creme brulee was delicious. Very light. I had my 2 year old also and there was a kids menu provided. She had the fettuccine alfredo.
The food was amazing. We ate here for a work dinner and the server Sam was just the best I felt like he was feeding us in his home! The gnocchi with gorgonzola was like clouds in your mouth. Great place for food if you are in Philly!
Solid authentic Italian. Service was very good, as they were able to accommodate my family's various off menu dietary requests. Would return.
