If you have not tried Chinese Dim Sum, this is the place to experience it. There are several restaurants in Philly Chinatown that serves Dim Sum, but this is our go-to place. All dumplings are freshly made in-house. So some of the dishes may require 15-20 wait for it to be properly steamed or fried. Clearly, some of the wait staff may not be as fluent in English as they are with Mandarin or Cantonese. So please be understanding of this. The place is usually very busy, and may need to be patient on drinks and food. Also, be sure to bring cash, as this they only take cash. However, there is a ATM inside the entrance of the restaurant, just in case.

LOVE their soup dumplings especially the Crab & Pork Soup Dumplings!! The Hot & Sour Soup is good too—big portion and well flavored. They only accept cash here, but there is an ATM outside.

Really great place to eat dimsum cash only though they have an ATM in the front that charges a 2$ fee but it was worth it, I ordered pan fried beef dumplings, pan fried pork and nappa, spicy spicy pork soup dumplings and the pumpkin cakes all met my expectations well. Atmosphere was good restroom was clean.

Their dumplings were amazing. My favorite was the shrimp dumpling. The only disappointment was they said cash only when we wanted to make a payment and then we ended up doing zelle. I wish it was mentioned someplace.

Cash only. Quick, efficient service. Once you're seated, you're not rushed. Best strategy is to order a few things and if you love them, order more. If not, order something else. Get the pea leaves because you have to eat SOMETHING green!

I visited this restaurant expecting several carts loaded with tasty dimsums rolling around tables and you pick what you want. No, I was wrong. That's Hong Kong style, and this one's Shanghai style, so no cart... Instead I needed to order from their menu which clearly shows their specialty as soup dumplings, "Xiaolongbao". I ordered a pork version. It came out quick, and all eight of them looked properly inflated with soup inside without any leak. At the first bite, hot soup inside a dumpling greeted me with full taste! But it can burn your mouth if you're not careful... It was authentic and delicious Xiaolongbao. A server kept asking me to order more food though I was alone... Also they only accepts cash, and have an ATM at the entrance.

Always fast and good. It's worth the wait. Pork soup dumplings are our favorite. Their beef chow fun is excellent. Cash only, though. Thicker and doughy wrappers help to ensure the dumpling doesn't break. Thinner wrappers are nice, but they break easier and you get no soup.

Very good Dim Sum! I took my coworker who had never had Dim Sum before here and it was a hit. The chicken soup dumplings were a delight and absolutely delicious! The food was very reasonably priced and we got a lot of bang for our buck. This location is somewhat handicap accessible. The upside is that the resturaunt is at ground level and they have a ramp so that the second floor is accessible. The downside is that the passageways were very tight and there isn't much room to store a mobile chair; we had to get creative by removing the arm rests and scooting the chair under the table. Just as a heads up, this location is a cash only restaurant (as of my visit today - 11/12/23)

This spot is legendary. I have been here so many times over the years and I still can’t get enough. Two items on the menu are absolutely iconic: the Shanghai pork soup dumplings and the handmade noodles with pork sauce. Those two dishes forever cement this spot as one of my all time Philly great spots (#1 for Asian at the very least). The ambiance is rustic and it’s usually packed. People line up to go here. It’s that good. Highly highly recommend!

This is another one of those great hole in the wall restaurants. You don't come here for atmosphere. You come and return for the excellent food. Our table of 10 was told it would be a 10min wait for a table in a packed house. We didn't quite think it would be 10, but after 30 we were packed in the back room. Service was fast not cordial. I respect and expected it. Drinks were quick and accurate. I had a passionfruit smoothie and it was great. We put in a lot of food. It all came out fast a few dishes at a time. My order of pork soup and crab dumplings, and chicken on a stick ( Yeah I'm basic) were perfect. The dumplings especially were just amazing. The broth was flavorful and the dough was soft and supple not gummy. There were absolutely no complaints for the table and our 10 person table came to a total of $257.

Visiting this week for a conference and had this spot on my list. I lived/worked in Shanghai, for two years and loved all of the pics on the walls. We ordered Xiao long baos and noodles with chicken. Yummmm. Both were great dishes. More than enough for two people. For sure coming back this week. Cash only.

This is easily the best dim sum I’ve had in Philadelphia. Their are a lot of places in this area, and I’ve eaten at many of them, but I always come back to Dim Sum Garden when I’m in town. Their shumai is some of the best I’ve had. They are always crowded but somehow always have a table within 15 minutes, regardless of my party size (3-8 people). The service is a little slow, but like is said - they are always slammed - and it’s well worth the wait. And it’s SUPER affordable. I recommend ordering family style, and when the bill comes, it’s always been $20-30/person, including bubble tea. Cash only! But they have an ATM when you walk in.
