Great food salmon and the steak were done to perfection! Service was amazing. Great place to relax after a hot day of sightseeing and enjoy a glass of wine or one of their ice cold beers.
Best veggie burger I ever had! Neat atmosphere and excellent service. Aaron was our waiter and exceeded excellent service. Has been our best meal in Philadelphia.
Had a great birthday lunch here on Saturday! Wonderful staff, good food, great cocktails. Definitely worth visiting!
Delicious and reasonable, we just loved it. Fish and chips were a little dry, but the burger and eggs Benedict (Maryland) more than made up for it. We alsi tried the French toast, delicious and beautifully presented. Would totally go back
Great food. Great atmosphere! Our waitress was also very helpful with information about Philadelphia’s attractions.
Probably the best hamburger I've eaten in a long long time. The moment I walked in Janice Joplin was playing on the radio.... this is my kind of place
Went for lunch today on my visit to Philadelphia. Very courteous and amazing staff. The National Burger is awesome. Not to mention that hot sauce rack up at the bar, wow.

Best veggie burger ever! Service and atmosphere are a plus. Definitely becoming a regular
A very nice restaurant located in a former church. Very nice atmosphere. Very nice and helpful staff. The dishes we ordered were served quickly. The dishes were very tasty and the portions were large. The beer recommended to us by the staff member was also very good. We highly recommend it and will definitely come back here next time.
Just a total excellent dining experience at the great restaurant in Old City! Came for Saturday Brunch. Ordered breakfast plate. Eggs over medium (perfectly cooked), potatoes, two large sausage links (some of the best I ever had), toast, butter, jelly. Very reasonable price in the city at $14. Also had coffee (extra cost) which was excellent. Service was friendly, fast, and terrific even though the place was really busy. Food came out hot, coffee also hot. Cream and plenty of sweetener choices. Just a really great dining experience. Ambiance of the old building added to the enjoyment. Really cool place!
Posting late because it was an out of town trip.
This place is simply put amazing. I mean that. The whole atmosphere, the music, the build, the wait staff, management, back of house. The wait staff and management did an awesome job on a busy Saturday night keeping our large group and other tables serviced. The drinks were quick and plentiful. The food was exceptional, I had the patty melt and tomatoe soup, they paired perfectly together and honestly it may be the best patty I've ever had. We had the wings, pretzel, and nachos as appetizers and they are a good size for a party of 8.
Marciano.. sorry for the delay but still a work in progress.
I was absolute taken back by this place. I had noticed the restaurant or the more correctly the building (see photos) on one of my previous trips to Philly.
Yesterday during a sight seeing trip to Philly with a visiting family member we had the first opportunity to checkout the restaurant housed in this cool building.
Something told me I we were not going to be disappointed. Marciano greeted us as we passed the "seat yourself" sign. It was refreshing to have the option to pick your own table in a restaurant in the USA with the quirky and unfair wait staff pay and tipping system. (Sorry off Topic).
Marciano was working the bar and waiting the occupied high-tops. Being the difficult person I can be, I grabbed menu's for the three menus from the stand near the sign and lead the two others in my group to the unoccupied section against the side with the low 6 tops with church pews (so cool, see pictures).
The table I selected had the most natural light which in some older historical pubs is unheard of. So thank you Marciano and management for being so chill on the seating.
The music playing in back ground was sort heavy rock, can't be certain as the architecture, furnishing, accents had my attention.
I believe I mentioned to Marciano that "this place" got a five star rating before we even got our food order in. I rate places based on several criterion including things location, staff, atmosphere. You see this place if the food was horrible.... I would still return for drinks and even occasionally food as well. Because the people make the location.
The food!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I had the pork sandwich (Marciano's recommendation) I was not disappointed. The fries were absolutely perfect! The roll, was from a local bakery (Amoroso's ?) Marciano hooked me up with the pork sandwich on the Cheese steak roll... that is the way he has his prepared. Did I mention the fries were perfect. My wife and her cousin were being cheapskates and split a cheese steak, otherwise I might have been about tell you about a third awesome menu item.
Sorry for forgot Guillermo, I barely stayed seated looking at the building furnishing etc but Guillermo was in the mix keeping us straight. Thank Again!
Definitely my new "hang" when I am in Philly..... look for me on my next visit hopefully my favorite table will be available.
regards,
Rusty

Food - Excellent!
Will definitely go back! Awesome team!
Parking across the street and down on the sides of the street.
D.J. Certain nights.
Enjoy!
Wow, what a exciting environment and beautiful place. The details are amazing. The decorations for halloween are the perfect fit! We were only in PA for the day. This brunch spot did not disappoint and will be back! The window right by our table was open. It was not overly crowded. Parking is so convenient- literally across the street (if you dont want street parking). It was perfect. The lavender lemonade mimosa was the best drink I have ever had!
This was a great place to have brunch. The cheesesteaks are great. The steam punk design of the faucets and the lights is very cool. I really enjoyed my experience and the service was fast and friendly. You can not say that about a lot of places in Philly, but this place was great. Independence Hall and the carpenters building are a short walk away. I would suggest everyone Uber as the Philadelphia Parking Authorities will ticket you for anything. The price of the Uber is always cheaper than the parking fine.
A burger to come back for! The Mexican burger is a fantastic blend of flavours and textures, one of my favourite burgers ever. Not scary hot but a nice little burn from the picked jalapenos and creamy cool freshness from the avocado. Top tier 👍
We went there for brunch, my husband had a bloody Mary and I had a margarita. I ordered a salad, and ken ordered a Steak sandwich Everything was delicious. The service is excellent. I highly recommend national mechanics.f
Food was great! Cocktails were perfect. The picture is a citrus mule. Waitress was sweet and awesome! Great atmosphere! Church pews as seating is great! Can’t go wrong coming here!
